  1. lol well I try to be positive, I'm not saying I like what we have just that I prefer it over what the texans have.
  2. I'll take our lb's and secondary over Houstons. The dlines are a wash minus schobel. All we really need on defense is a safety 2 dt's a one starter one for depth and depth a lb and a de oppposite schobel.
  3. Not true. A good punter can dictate field position, of course after that it's up to your defense, but the odds of an offense scoring saying when they're buried inside their 20 are a lot lower then when they're past the 20. Field goals put points on the board as well. The pats won 3 superbowls by 3 fg's. The 90 Bills lost by a missed fg. St's are exremely important.
  4. The texans have more all around needs. On Offense and defense then we do. Then again I dont know a whole lot about the houston texans, but looking at their defensive depth chart from last year it leaves a hell of a lot to be desired all around. 3-4 defense 2005 depth chart 1st and 2nd string Pos. 1st String 2nd String LE 75 Travis Johnson 90 Jason Davis NT 91 Seth Payne 95 Jerry Deloach RE 99 Robaire Smith 97 Alfred Malone LOLB 53 Shantee Orr 93 Jason Babin BLB 51 DaShon Polk 59 Frank Chamberlin MLB 56 Morlon Greenwood 54 Troy Evans ROLB 98 Antwan Peek 50 Charlie Anderson LCB 38 Demarcus Faggins 33 Jason Bell RCB 23 Dunta Robinson 21 Lewis Sanders SS 26 Glenn Earl 30 Jason Simmons FS 24 C.C. Brown 42 Marcus Coleman Besides the fact travis johnson shouldn't be a 3-4 end, they dont really have much of any kind of nucleus on their defense. I know they signed Sam Cowart and Walli Raineer to bolster their lb depth which was really needed. I like peek. but I see only one proven player on this defense in Dunta Robinson. So for this poll I voted for us.
  5. it was a 2005 1st 2004th 2nd and 5th the cowboys ended up with 43 Dallas Julius Jones RB Notre Dame 144 Dallas Sean Ryan TE Boston College 20 Dallas Marcus Spears DE Louisiana State
  6. Nows not the time for personal attacks on the guy we need to nurture and coddle him and give him tremendous fan support as not to bruise his fragile psyche
  7. except Jordan Black is pretty awful. Pass
  8. Yeah we could package our 5ths if this is the case to move back up into the 4th. Would have much rather gotten the 4th though. A little dissapointed, but it's time for this team to get younger.
  9. 2004 5 4 136 Gibril Wilson Giants DB Tennessee 5 5 137 Josh Scobee Jaguars K Louisiana Tech 5 11 143 Erik Coleman Jets DB Washington State 5 25 157 D.J. Just gotta know where to look.
  10. I'll add Jay Foreman, Sammy Morris,Justin Bannan, and Eric King looks like he could develop into a good player. I only looked at the last 10 years but those names struck out at me. You're not gonna find all stars in the 5th rd well rarely but these players have been decent at one time or another.
  11. I can think of one off the top of my head at cincy yeah thats pretty much it.
  12. I wouldn't put Branch or S. Moss. I'm hesitant to agree with Steve Smith. He has another big year then yeah I'll agree with that. The rest I agree with.
  13. More so then the compensation we received I'm now interested to see Lee Evans step up and see if he can prove he can be a #1 receiver. Big focus on the running game and a reliable target at te would help take pressure off. I like the idea of accquiring a 4th for moulds. Build the nucleus thru the draft, and depth through free agency. I think it's a 5th now.
  14. I didnt want to start another moulds thread but for whatever it's worth FOXSports.com reports the San Francisco 49ers showed interest in Buffalo Bills WR Eric Moulds, according to Moulds' personal adviser Greg Johnson. I kind of like his personal adviser. Even if it's not true and he's just throwing out team names, it could drive up the price of a team who really is interested.
  15. Don't let LaDaris hear you say that about allen All in all nothing that suprising. Hawk and Williams are the creme de le creme of this draft. awesome players I haven't seen Hawk as much as BillsGuyInMalta but I dont see Huff as a comparable tackler to Antoine Winfield. Everytime I've seen Huff he's tackled high, so I'm not about to compare that to the best tackling corner in the game. However Huff is a great playmaker with good speed. You could put him in different spots of the field corner/safety it just gives you great versatility. While he's not my first choice I could live with Huff at 8 if thats the guy. I'm still leaning towards Broderick Bunkley I just have a feeling that he's gonna to be an absolute great dt in the nfl. Strong enough to play nose or penetrate gaps. He strikes me as a young Richard Seymour high praise, but I honestly believe you can put him on any position on the dline and he'll excell. I dont like the idea of Winston Justice especially at 8, I'm just weary of drafting another rt that high, maybe if we traded down a few spots. Davin Joseph or Claude Wrotten would be ideal in the 2nd depending on what we do in the first. Just wondering if the video had any footage of Elvis Dumervil and what your impression was of him if so?
  16. I second that emphatically, also guys like Ryan O'callaghan and Jeremey Trueblood
  17. That was great, but I think he just meant he was an commentator paid by the bills so he towed the company line. Now the company line is his and not Donahoes so his opinion may have changed.
  18. Ogden was good once upon a time the last couple seasons he's been terribly average. He wouldn't be the guy I think of when talking about the best current lt's in the game. Still Im not really a fan of dbrick anyway. Yeah he'd be a major upgrade but if we trade up I'd much rather it be for mario williams.
  19. If I'm levy hold out for the 4th or unless the texans offer a 5th and a conditional pick that could become a 3rd next year based on playing incentives.
  20. Well these are our away teams for 2006 Miami, New England, N.Y. Jets, Houston, Indianapolis, Chicago, Detroit, Baltimore I'll exclude the Jets, Houston, Detroit, and Baltimore as no one would watch those games most likely. I'll count out Chicago as well. Leaving us prime to face The Dolphins who pundits think are gonna be great this season. The annual ne prime time game we seem to have lately or the colts. Now if you're one of those people who believes the NFL Hates us, and wants to see us get totally ripped I believe if this mnf thing is true our opponent will be..... The Indianapolis Colts at the RCA Dome
  21. What personell? Honestly the strength of our defense isn't our dline it's our lb's and corners. London Fletcher played in a cover 2 defense in stl. Takeo Spikes when healthy is a great coverage lb. Nate Clements and Terrence Mcgee seem tailor made for the cover 2. Jauron is heading in the right direction. Sam Adams days were done and we hd no dt's on our current roster that said we can't move in a new direction. Guys Like Tim Anderson Lawlyon Brown Lauvale Sape will more then likely never be starters. It was good to move in a new direction. Aaron Schobel is primarly a pass rushing de. Although we could use one on the other side I just dont see a problem with what Jauron is doing here. Fairchild has made it clear he wants a run based offense with big play potential. We brought in another speed wr in andre davis a good blocking te that will play the role of a Jason Dunn or Brandon Manumaleuna while Everett or someone else plays the role of the pass catching thtreat at te. While according to fairchild lean on the run game to open up the pass game. The Air Coryell system has been very kind to rb's in both STL and KC. I expect when the line is further improved it will do the same here. There were some free agents I would've rather had but criticizing the coaching staff for changing the systems is not something I'm about to do, when we were in dire need of change. Change is far from a bad thing considering we we're porous on both sides of the ball.
  22. Im gonna answer the question in the way it's formated. What would be better value for moulds The Best wr in the nfl or a 4th rd rookie....... I get the character issues but Owens talent is undeniable, Obviousily he would've been better value for Moulds then a rookie 4th rd pick. Of course there was probably no chance we'd ever get Owens so it's really a mute point now.
  23. Forgot to mention while I think Bledsoe will be money next year with TO, I believe the biggest benefiter will be their rb Julius Jones. Jones who was a dissapointment last year, should see less teams stacking the box, and have the opportunity to make more plays running the ball.
  24. Fitz/Boldin>>>> Harrison/Wayne I'll take youth. I'm still not 100% sold on Reggie Waynes ability to be anything that special. Boldin already proved he could before fitz got there. Not to mention that whole thing about the cards having the #1 passing offense last year while not having a steady quaterback in play. Anquan Boldin | 14 | 12 45 3.8 0 | 102 1402 13.7 7 Larry Fitzgerald | 16 | 8 41 5.1 0 | 103 1409 13.7 10 Marvin Harrison | 15 | 0 0 0.0 0 | 82 1146 14.0 12 Reggie Wayne | 16 | 0 0 0.0 0 | 83 1055 12.7 5 Honorable mention goes to Cin duo of Chad and TJ.
