Matt Leinart will be a bust.....
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to djh's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
While that was a good pass at a college level in the pros it probably would've been picked off it floated and was on the inside shoulder of the receiver an nfl db 7 out of 10 times would make a play on it. I like Matt Leinart he's acurate, smart decision maker and doesnt seem to get flustered. The thing I question about Leinart is he really commited to football. Remember he could've and would've been the #1 overall pick last year but opted to stay in and its not like it was to take classes. The only class he had was ballroom dancing More then anything I question his commitment to the game, but he is the most ready qb of this class. I believe Brodie Croyle could end up being the best out of it. -

We can use that #22 to pick Antonio Cromartie or Tye Hil how awesome would that be trade a proven corner for a rookie corner only to pay the rookie corner big money that would rule..... -
The Bill will need at least 3 starters
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to Nick in RaChaCha's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
In the way he stated that I can't say I disagree. If he said it the way you pasted it well then I'd blink at it too, but dt is a bigger need and it's arguable about safety, but our dline has no one outside of schobel, and maybe triplett. -
All in all I dont put much stock into quaterbacks in general. Imo you can win with any qb as long as you have a good oline. You don't need the all world physically talented guy. You win football in the trenches period!!!!

Where did the fallacy come from that a big D-line
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to Ramius's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Chicago finished just on the outside of the top 10 at 11, 9th in yards per attempt and 5th in tds allowed., and the #2 overall defense in the nfl. just saying. Now Atlanta only had the #1 rushing offense in the nfl so I thought it was amusing you left them out to try to try to prove your point. Superior Lb's outside of derrick brooks. When did Quarles and Ryan Nece become "Vastly superior"? The bucs have good corners but jermaine phillips and Dexter Jackson are far from great safeties. Now a dline that consists of Spires/Hovan/McFarland/and that Simeon Rice guy thats what makes the motor run. Lets see who seattle played this year and where they rank rush offense wise 1 | at Jacksonville Jaguars | L | 14-26 | # 10 rush offense 2 | Atlanta Falcons | W | 21-18 | # 1 rush offense 4 | at Washington Redskins | L | 17-20 | # 7 rush offense 7 | Dallas Cowboys | W | 13-10 | # 13 rush offense 12 | New York Giants | W | 24-21 | # 6 rush offense Obviousily they did play some teams who can run the ball. So I'd say they were deserving of their ranking. but I do agree there in a division with teams who cant run the ball although the niners did rank 17th in rush offense. They also shut down portis the 2nd time around in the playoffs. -
Bills/Cowboys Draft Day Trade?
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to Peter's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
because Jason Allen failed his physical with the dolphins and cowboys. Hip injuries can be some nasty things. A Degenerative hip made Jerry Azumah retire. I'd stay far away from Jason Allen. -
Where did the fallacy come from that a big D-line
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to Ramius's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah Corey Simon came to indy largely overweight and out of shape, definitly not the same player that left philly and overall just less dominating like he used to be. I think Ramius's post was a great one though and he definitly hammered the point. You dont need fat bums to stop the run. A defense that can get pressure from the interior and attack the ball can just as easily stop the run, and generate a lot of turnovers. -
Is it worth it to trade Clements

How About A List Of Players To Draft Per Position
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to Mark VI's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
TE- Are you kidding me this draft is te deep. Guys like Marcedes Lewis, Leonard Pope, Dominque Byrd, Tim Day, Anthony Fasono There are several other te's other then Vernon Davis who I'd love to have. OT- Whitworth lacks the athleticism needed to play lt at the nfl level, He's strictly a rt. Plays nasty though so if we move Jason Peters I could see this. I just dont see many true lt's in this draft. Guys like Whitworth, Trueblood, Jonathan Scott, McNeil. O'Callaghan I could live with DT- Theres a lot of dt's s but if not bunkley the only other dt's I'm interested in are McCargo, Wrotten, Lewis, Malehona, Orien Harris, Le Kevin Smith, Barry Coefield. but getting 2 dts out of this draft is a must. DE- Other then the most obvious I like Mark Anderson, Ray Edwards, Tapp, Dumervil, and Wyche. ILB- This might be a bit of a risk but for a later round pick if this guy can ever stay Healthy Kevin Simon could be a tremendous ILB in the nfl. OLB- the two you named Nande and Alston other then that I'll add Clint Ingram, Omar Gaither and Cameron Vaughn who could play either inside or outside in the nfl as he did both at lsu. -
ngata or bunkley - who would you rather have?
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If we dont get bunkley I'll be happy with Wroten Lewis or Mahelona someone else can have wright or watson. I still believe we need to come away with at least 2 dt's out of this draft though. -
Because they have no free safety and roy williams is a liability in coverage

ngata or bunkley - who would you rather have?
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I know thats the debate a lot of people had but in this case I'd compare it to Vince Wilfork vs Tommie Harris in which case I'd choose Harris all over again. Bunkley just impresses me a lot more then ngata. -
Kiper's latest 4 Round Mock
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to BuffBills#1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It might have something to do with the fact we have 9 wr's currently on our roster. I dont mind drafting a wr but I'd at least wait till day 2. We can get much better players then stovall in rd 3 -

Kiper's latest 4 Round Mock
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to BuffBills#1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Odds are Bunkley,Huff,Ngata, Justice will all be gone by 14. Most likely to teams like the lions, rams, ravens, eagles, ps so why trade down? none of these guys will be available then and unless you're trading down really far it's too early for guys like davin joseph, nick mangold .so the trade down peope how far would you trade down and who would you pick? -
Atlantic division tie break possibilities Tiebreaker possiblities: -Rangers win, they earn the 3 seed -Flyers win, Devils 1 point and Rangers 1 point or loss and they win division -Devils finish tied with both teams in pts, they get it due to wins -Devil win, Ranger loss, Flyer win- Devils are 3, Flyers are 5 and Rangers 6 -in order for Flyers to win division, they can't have same pts as Devils GO DEVILS

Bunkley>>>>>>Ngata . I'd be fine with the rest of your mock although I'm not really big on McNeil. McCargo wont fall to the 4th and I'd like Darnell Bing. -
