  1. exactaly te and safeties are becoming must have positions. Slow prodding guys who were traditionaly used at ss to support the run are becoming a thing of the past with more and more teams using athletic receiving threats at te. Your gates, shockeys, gonzalez, mcmichael, crumpler ben watson, vernon davis etc etc. You need guys like the ed reed, the polamalu's guys who can cover the te in your base defense and if need be drop down and cover slot receivers. Whether or not Whitner was a reach or not is all relative imo. If he can help the defense its worth it, if not he's just another bust in a long line of draft busts.
  2. that in a nutshell is my issue with Losman. He obviously has the physical tools to be successful, but for all the picks we spent on him I expect him to be more then the "next jake plummer". I dont want to have to surround a qb with perfect conditions and limit the offense to safe throws and not having to worry about a qb winning a game if the run game isn't working, and then having to draft another high pick qb. For Losmans sake I hope he turns out to be far better then Plummer.
  3. If Willis had a year like Ronnie Brown I wouldnt want him on the team. Ronnie Brown is the most overhyped rb not named Julius Jones. I'd expect a hell of a lot more out of a starting rb picked in the top 5 then 907 yards rushing. and way more then only 4 runs of 20+ yards, and 4 rushing tds. 5. Yeah you have a good arm, can avoid pressure, have pocket presence and field awareness. You're pretty accurate with a high completition pct and you may even be good in the redzone, have decent footspeed but the million dollar question before I can back you for the qb job is.... What's your Wonderlic Score?
  6. Well damn getting my milloy jersey re-stiched is out of the question.
  7. I Think a couple of you completly missed the point of that article. It's stating while we cant use Martz's air it out philosophy its a good thing to be exposed to that predicated on running the football, but having big play potential. Kind of Similar Im hoping anyway to the way Al Saunders ran that offense in KC However this doesnt mean we wont pass the football All I get out of that article is we will be a run first offense who will stretch the field with need be. Truth be told thats the way it should be. Especialy with our quaterback situation as well as teams that can run the football are the teams that generaly have the most success.
  8. Phillip Rivers. I thought Rivers was the best qb prior to that draft and I still do. He wont be great this year, but I expect him to be better then losman. Rivers was known for his tremendous accuracy in college I believe he holds the ncaa completition pct record. I dont see where he's anything like ramsey as Rivers was never known for having a cannon arm. He'll probably struggle somewhat coming out the gate but I expect by the middle of the year he'll pick it up. I dont expect anything out of JP other then I'll be happy if he can prove me wrong, about his accuracy, touch passes and footwork in the pocket. I wont get my hopes up on field awareness, nor do I expect Losman to light it up or be gone, but if he doesnt improve over his last year dreadful performances then yes he should go at the end of the season.
  9. Some of you people think big arm= better qb. A Healthy Chad Pennington is much better then ramsey. Ramsey has absolutly nothing upstairs. Maybe at one time he had some potential and he might still have a great arm, but he doesnt have the timing or thought process to be any kind of legit starting qb. Pennington meanwhile has proven when healthy he can win football games. Sure he has the arm of a 13 year old girl, but he has the timing, accuracy, and field awareness needed to be effective.
  10. I second this. I hope he gets himself in shape and can salvage his career. Yea it's regretful he didnt reach his potential while a member of the Bills but I wont damn him because of it.
  11. heh Im watching the comeback game and everytime I see this Im amused when van miller says "And Beebe puts a move on jerry gray"
  12. Rodney Harrison was injured and didnt play in either bills game last year. He missed every game after week 3
  13. Actualy they have Kyle Turley now who according to a chiefs fan I talk to is up around 300lbs again and was placed at rt today in camp while Jordan Black was placed at lt. If I was a defensive coordinator up against the chiefs I wouldnt really worry so much about LJ, just stack the line and overload the left side to get to green. Green has a bad habit of holding the ball longer then any qb I've seen partialy due to the oline he has and lack of talent at the wr position. LJ will get his yards but I see the chiefs offense taking a huge drop off this year in overall production.
  14. zing! As much flak as everyone gives holcomb he looks like elway arm strength wise compared to pennington
  15. yup you dont want to mess with me home boy I roll with some real og's I roll with Willie Nelson and we like to drink juice. Also Mc P pants on occasion... No but seriously its not like he shot anyone that Im aware of or is selling drugs. I dont see the problem with carrying firearms if properly registered and used for hunting and or protection for yourself or family.
  16. eh who cares if its true. It's no longer shocking or obscene Show me someone with money or fame or even your average joe blow who doesnt carry guns then I'd be a little more suprised. He'll get a fine and that will be that. I dont think what he did is terrible if true. BTW ATHF rocks
  17. Personaly Im amped up about McCargo. I thought he was the 3rd best dt in this draft outside of Bunkley and Claude Wrotten. He's an explosive guy whos pretty damn strong, the problem was he hasnt been healthy but when he is he's extremely quick off the snap. It'll probably be a year or two before he comes into his own. The only issue I have with McCargo is his durability but if he's healthy I think he'll be prove to be a very good dt. I expect absolutly nothing out of Tim Anderson. While he wasn't our worst dt last year that honor belonged to justin banan. I remember being at the week 17 jets game and coming away unimpressed about Anderson although he did hold his own he just didnt do much of anything else, and hoping banan was no longer on the team after last season. With a definite increased role anderson will have to step up. Triplett I believe is a great fit for this system and a definite great fit as we will be rotating our dline. He'll be able to help the younger players McCargo/Anderson/Williams adapt to the system and I look for him to improve on his numbers from last season. I dont expect all that much from kyle williams
  18. I bolded bulgers names for fairly obvious reasons. Now that Fairchild is our offensive coordinator does his system really rely on passers who can get the ball down the field or does Holcomb stand a better chance to exceed in this system due to being an accurate quaterback. Let me just say I believe a good qb is accurate no matter what just curious if this leads one to believe Holcomb stands a better chance of being our qb this year?
  19. Incase it isn't clear by now you can only offer players drafted after the 1st rd 4 year deals
  20. yeah thats what I was thinking at first but there are people who put the tips of black n milds on blunts they rolled so they dont waste as much smoke.
  21. I doubt we would've won the bucs game we were downright brutal on both sides of the ball but with some better coaching I think we would've won the atlanta game. Our run game was really clicking that day.
  22. that gets funnier everytime I watch it
  23. lmao well at least he has perspective on his worth
  24. Jerry Porter is the perrenial "This is the year he breaks out" wr and yet nothing. He sat for a few years behind an aging jerry rice and tim brown and then managed to put up some decent stats akin to a good #2 wr. Two firsts no way in hell a 4th then yeah. Highly overrated wr who fans seem to swoon over.
  25. I guess Im the only one who doesn't see a problem with that website. It's no worse then any other media outlet for nfl news and or opinions
