A NASCAR view of the NFL
cfbillsfan replied to San Jose Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I do agree that is the main point of the article. But as I read it I could not help but compare Dale Sr's injury, 'basilar skull fracture, an injury that occurs when the head tries to separate itself from the body' to former Bill, Kevin Everett's injury, 'a fracture and dislocation of the cervical spine'. Now it seems NASCAR has the answer with their head restraint. It made me wonder what the NFL can come up with equipment wise that could have prevented Kevin's injury. Otherwise it is the speed of the return game that was the issue with Kevin's injury. With regards to multiple concussions and the effects on NFL players. I do agree it is a problem. If there is a better helmet that prevents concusions and players refuse to wear them out of some sort of pride or old school traditions, that is just down right silly. If anyone is in the football equipment design industry, message me I think I have a great idea for a equipment improvement!...DISREGARD, I just googled it and it seems there is already a patent filed in 1997: http://www.google.com/patents/USRE36691 A football helmet and shoulder pad combination are designed to prevent head and neck injuries. An outer helmet is connected to a neck assembly which permits but limits head turning mobility as well as up-down and left and right head tilt. The neck mechanism which is mounted about the neck comprises substantially circular inner and -outer spherical guides and a concentric movable inner element therebetween with an upwardly extending member on each side of the neck. The guides contain stops to limit the motion permitted by the helmet and the lower portion of the mechanism is mounted on the shoulder pads to distribute the load during impact. The helmet portion with a resilient coupling joining the portions. The upwardly extending members on the inner element are mounted to respective sides of the outer helmet. The helmet may also be retrofitted to existing equipment. -
A NASCAR view of the NFL

Good article thanks for sharing. Im not sure if the nfl can avoid catostrophic injuries with equipment and technology alone. It may also require rule changes. But it does make me wonder what technology might bring..... Go Bills! -

Even Jets fans are sick of Fireman Ed
cfbillsfan replied to BuffaloBillsForever's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm not sure what makes me more uncomfortable Fireman Ed's chant, or Ray Lewis' pregame rants. Pretty sure it is Ray Lewis.... GO BILLS! -

New Defensive Coordinator - George Edwards

Well, if this is the case, we were 3-4 when 3-4 wasn't cool. Borrowing from Barbara Mandell.......Please sing along! I don't think we are doing this just to be fashionable. We are doing this cause the Tampa 2 was not getting it done. There were some moments of success, but over all I would call it a FAILBOAT. GO BILLS! -

cfbillsfan replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, I give a rip. The kid had a LOT to overcome. Tragic background. Always liked him as a Bill and was dissapointed when we cut him. But, if I recall he was injured. Good for him, I'm sure Grandpa is thrilled. GO BILLS! -
Yeah, I just heard some clown talking about some movie, said it was a thinking movie, and writers don't like to think....nice shot. I wonder who said it and to whom? GO BILLS!

Thanks! That worked for me! GO BILLS!

Agreed, all of the negativity, 'figures', 'still trying to save money' makes me want to vomit. Heck, if I listened to all of the nay sayers on this board, I should have given up on the season before it started and just quit being a Bills fan. Good Grief! Go Bills!

It's been around a lot longer than last season. As a Bills fan I am sure you must have heard it in reference to Jim Kelly. I don't think it is fruity. I think it is something that is required in a QB. We have been looking for a QB with some swagger since the departure of Kelly (though I think Flutie had some swagger, just not a hold on the starting job). I think we are starting to see some swagger in Trent. Monday night he looked loose before the game. Gave me some confidence. I recall the Cleveland Monday night game last year, during pregame he looked like a scared little girl. I am all for swagger. And I am sure there are much fruitier terms.

cfbillsfan replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I've always said that marty was the worst kind of coach, always gets his teams to the playoffs, NEVER goes anywhere. PAINFUL. But, missing the playoffs for 9 straight is pretty damn painful too. GO BILLS! -
