If we're gonna draft a TE this year I say we
buffaloboyinATL replied to buffaloboyinATL's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agreed. I never said let's ignore the big name prospects, I simply stated that the TE position was relatively deep this year so insead of using the #8 pick in the first round on a TE, even a phenominally talented one, we should consider a late round TE who may develop into a great player. It is unrealistic to assume that successful teams are built soley on a strong first and second round draft. The Bills have to look for talent is the later rounds as well, especially in a position of lesser need such as TE. -
Vernon Davis vs. Haloti Ngata

Case in point, Kellen Winslow Jr. 6th pick of the first round in 2004. He was a can't miss TE. -
from Western Michigan. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/player/profile?playerId=115493 http://scout.scout.com/a.z?s=226&p=8&c=1&n...3628&refid=5209 He's 6'6" 250 pounds and last year had 57 receptions for 670 yards and 9 TD's. He was very impressive at the combine and will probably be available in the 3rd or 4th round, maybe even later. from www.footballsfuture.com Scheffler ran the second fastest 40 time at 4.54, had the third longest broad jump at 9 feet 7 inches, tied for the best time in the 3-cone drill at 6.81 seconds, posted the fastest time in the short shuttle as well as the second fastest in the long shuttle. What this does for his draft status is uncertain at this point, but it certainly has to help his cause in what is a very deep tight end draft class.

Vernon Davis vs. Haloti Ngata
buffaloboyinATL replied to BillsFanForever19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
And I truly believe that this was due for the most part to the loss of Pat Williams. It also hurt to lose Spikes but in my opinion was that we were too easy to handle in the middle which allowed the opponents to go after our ends and LB's. A huge, penetrating DT forces teams to double and triple team to prevent disruption which frees DE's LB's and blitzing safties and corners to make plays. This is one position that a one players upgrade (or downgrade) can make a huge difference. -

I appreciate your passion but keep in mind that this is a pretty deep draft for TE's as well. Davis, Marcedes Lewis, Leonard Pope and Dominique Byrd are all potential first rounders and there are some quality "sleepers" to be had in the later rounds. Garret Mills, Anthony Fasano, Joel Klopfenstein and Tony Scheffler (who I believe has the potential to be very good) just to name a few. I agree that Vernon Davis appears to be a phenom but there are other options at that position just like there are other options at DT. -
LOL, yeah kind of looks like Michael Clark Duncan. Thay said on NFL network yesterday that he looks like The Thing from Fantastic Four and I agree. He was impressive in the agility drills and moved very well for such a solid guy. He will definitely be a force in the NFL, could you imagine him and Peters as wedge busters on special teams? It would look like bowling for dollars.

No kidding. He looks like a monster out there, I sure as hell wouldn't want to stand in front of him when he's got a full head of steam. Solid muscle.

My 4 year old and 2 year old are into Scooby Doo right now. I got them a set of DVD's that have all of the old "guest appearance" episodes and there are 2 of them with Don Knotts. The past few weeks I keep hearing my 2 year old saying "Don Knotts is funny". His humor can be appreciated even when he was animated. Sad to hear he's gone but I honestly figured he passed away a few years ago.

wow, that's a pretty big grain of salt. Strong words if you don't believe what is being said. My guess is all of that crap was made up. -
LOL. That will be followed by the bud light simulated coin toss performed by bottles, correct? I heard Tom Brady will be played by a fruity wine cooler.
-
John Clayton claims that it is 8pm tonight. Man, this coin toss in a well kept secret. • Coin toss: The 49ers and Raiders will have a coin toss at 8 p.m. ET Friday to determine which team picks sixth and which goes seventh in the NFL draft. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/draft06/colu...john&id=2342210

Yeah, the tappas place is the place I was reffering to but I have been to Snapper Jacks as well. I have not tried the sushi but I will. Looking forward to trying Locklears when I go there in April. Have you been to the new Buffalo South on James Island right before you get to Folly yet? It's owned by a guy from Buffalo and they have good wings, beef on weck, Genny beer, OV, Labatts etc...

Wow, I haven't seen that yet, thanks. I like some of the other twins even more. -
Interesting perspective from Todd France
buffaloboyinATL replied to ACor58's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thanks for the clarification. I guess I always assumed that a trade was possible so I never thought about the fact that this wasn't an obvious option. I wouldn't mind seeing another Peerless Price style trade but would be just as happy to see Nate stay in Buffalo. -
Interesting perspective from Todd France
buffaloboyinATL replied to ACor58's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm curious, what was the interesting perspective? Was it the part about weighing their options or the part about not being surprised? Neither of those seem to be interesting or unusual perspectives because everyone in the world who understands the franchise tag assumed the Bills would use it on Clements and there is not much he could do right now but weigh his options. Was there some other angle or statement that I'm missing? -
All great places. Don't forget the "Lost Dog" for a breakfast burrito and the "Corner Market" (or whatever that place on the corner is called) for a good dinner and excellent wine selection. I haven't been there in a few months, where is Locklear's? Did it replace the Starfish Grill?

Lets hope that Ngata is a Bust at the Combine
buffaloboyinATL replied to firstngoal's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Of course if he has a bad Combine you will see this board light up with people saying that he is a bust and we should not draft him at all. Just like when he had an average showing in the Bowl game and many fans chimed in saying he was lazy, over-rated and sure to be a bust. -

Yeah, Taylor was awesome, the bald dude rocked and the guy with the messed up teeth who sand Stevie Wonder was pretty good. Not sure about that "If" song you asked about in your other post, sorry. I'm hoping for Taylor Hiska and Katharine McPhee as the final 2. They're my favorites so far... -

http://www.lasersedgecd.com/hicks_taylor.html Seems like an independent release. I wonder what the rule is for Idol. My guess is you are ineligible if you ever signed with another label. I have a feeling this cd will be a " I had it before his career took off" type of thing. Enjoy. -
I'd say late April early May. http://www.weather.com/activities/other/ot...mnav_undeclared

Funny that you suggested Folly, I was about to say the same thing. I own a beach house in Folly, 3rd row, about 100 yards from the ocean that I rent out. I would be happy to hook up a Bills fan with deal if you are interested. (If you are, PM me) S&J is right, it's laid back and beachy and if you want a nice restaurant, shopping etc, Charleston is very close. There are some really nice condos and houses right on the water if you want to hear the ocean right outside your window.

The OFFICIAL American Idol 2006 Thread

Probably won't win because he won't get the teenage girl votes. He is very talented. Has kind of a Joe Cocker, Ray Charles thing going on. Plays a mean harmonica, apparently can play the guitar. He may not win idol but he'll probably build a pretty solid fan base. I just ordered his cd and it was back ordered for a few weeks. Unfortunately for him, 40 year old, male, blues fans don't vote on Idol. -
that's actually pretty feasible. I would not be dissapointed if the off season went that way.

Another reason to hate the Jets
buffaloboyinATL replied to duey's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I thought the exact same thing when I heard Cox was hired. It's been harder to hate the Jets lately because they're one of the few teams that a Bills fan could actually feel sorry for last year. I now have a renewed hatred. Thanks Jets! -
Just think, Buffalo - Toronto
