  1. Very smart move on his part. Hard to rip a guy about something if he goes along with the joke. This will help him get past this a lot quicker IMO.
  2. Just heard on radio this morning that after the surgery on his arm, Gronk will be heading to a spine specialist to have them check out a back issue he has been dealing with. They said it may require "minor" surgery. Can't imagine that is a good sign. http://espn.go.com/boston/nfl/story/_/id/9286968/rob-gronkowski-new-england-patriots-need-back-surgery-source
  3. I think effector is my new favorite word. I agree, the progression of Glenn and the line in general will be a crucial element to our success. I don't know who our new offensive line coach is, but I hope he is up to the task.
  4. Besides the points that others have made, I'd like to point out that characterizing Marrone and Hackett as "college coaches" is not neccesarily accurate. They have both spent time around the NFL game to the point where I believe they are able to understand that not everything they did in college will work in the pro game. I am hopeful that they will adjust accordingly.
  5. Wow! I know this was expected but I am still a bit surprised. He seemed really active in the draft.
  6. African or European?
  7. Because I said so...
  8. I hope that is true but he was the only QB taken in round 1. There may be a few complexities with that, even with the new rookie limits. I hope I'm wrong though.
  9. Don't forget the heated Kelly vs. Flutie debates that we often wage here on the Wall.
  10. Wow! My math is weak when the numbers are this big, but does that mean you hope to make 100 billion dollars?! Good for you. Will you buy the Bills?
  11. The guy offered to buy him a mint julep.
  12. It's only money. He should just be happy she left be for their we're kids, alimony and child support in the picture.
  13. Hopefully it will make him play angry.
  14. The real problem was that they would have had to film one eighth of the movie in Toronto which would have made it difficult to be successful.
  15. I've heard of the expression tit for tat, but never heard of tat for tit.
  16. I feel some exciting football coming our way, and hopefully a return to respectability.
  17. I disagree. I believe we have added more than 2 immediate impact players. I think Manny Lawson will have an immediate impact. Either Kolb or Manuel will have an immediate impact (hopefully a positive one) Dustin Hopkins will have an immediate impact if he gives us the confidence to put points on the board in situations we had to pass up on last season. There are more that I believe will contribute as well like Goodwin on kickoff returns and on running plays.
  18. I agree with this assessment. In his highlight reel, it seemed that he had more sweeps, reverses and runs than he did receptions. A good dual threat for our Offense.
  19. Does he say if he believes in any way that this relates to success on the field?
  20. Teams, or at least Offenses, get their identity from the QB, not the other way around. Do you think franchise QB's are so plentiful that we can wait for the team to develop an identity and then go out and get the QB that best fits the team? You need a leader to start with and then build from there.
  21. He looked plenty fast running back that pick 6 from Andrew Luck.
  22. Someone has to campaign for him, even if it is him. This is a good thing, maybe being around football will help his case, like it has for Cris Carter.
  23. You think we were better off taking no QB at all versus taking the one that the entire evaluating committee deemed the best chance at being a franchise quarterback? That is absurd. Given the amount of time Marrone and Hackett spent with Nassib, I am going to trust their decision not to bet their futures on him. As far as taking no QB other than Nassib, they would be killed by fans and media alike for that decision if they had made it.
  24. He was a fourth round pick according to a bunch of reporters, that does not mean that was how NFL teams viewed him. He has the skill, upside and leadership to be a franchise QB for years to come and IMO would have been on another roster if we had waited until round 2. You may disagree but I am thrilled that we chose him over Geno Smith even though the "experts" would have praised our draft if we had taken him instead.
  25. I believe he has the talent to succeed regardless of where he was drafted. However, there is a good chance that if he were with a team other than the *Pats, he may never have been able to showcase those skills. He is not a purely "system" guy, he is better than that, but he would not have made Superbowl winners out of the Jaguars or many other teams for that matter, in my opinion.
