  1. Not neccesarily. Work places often have rules to regulate things to protect their image that may exceed rules and punishments established by civil norms. As an example, a restaurant may have hygiene or wardrobe regulations for it's employees. Violation of these rules may result in penalties such as days off without pay and repeated violations could lead to long term "suspension" or termination. These penalties exceed those that would be issued in civil or criminal cases but are within the right of the employer to protect their corporate image. The NFL has the right to levy stricter penalties than normal criminal or civil cases, in order to protect their brand. As to whether this works as a detergent compared to the alternative, I couldn't say unless I saw that strategy in action.
  2. I would argue it is more about setting and example and hopefully scaring other fools away from said behavior, than it is about penalizing the original fool.
  3. lol on Johnny Clipboard, you really should trademark that one before someone else does. That being said, I can't blame him for trying to make money on his football persona. That is his career and he may as well "make hay while the sun is shining". I would argue however, that the sun in not currently shining in Cleveland...
  4. I am in Marietta. No, I will be watching on the Sunday ticket. It's been a while since I've gone to a Bills bar to see the game, but it is fun to hang around other fans.
  5. I live in Atlanta. I am pretty indifferent to the Falcons, but it is entertaining seeing how much the fan base in a bunch of fair weather band wagon jumpers. When the Falcons are not doing well, all you hear about is college football, when they are doing well, everyone acts like they have been a die hard fan since the 70's. You don't see nearly as many people wearing Falcons gear on a daily basis like you do with Bills gear in Buffalo.
  6. Not surprised they are calling in a circus. During one of our pre-season games, one of the talking heads said that Trump offer to pay $1 billion in cash, I guess that was just Trump posturing and not a real offer?
  7. Spiller for Vernon Davis. I do not want them to trade Spiller, but if they did, it has to be for a player that will contribute this year. A quality TE or a Backup QB who could start if called upon would be my guess.
  8. He is Kaiser Sose.
  9. Beth by KISS. Although there is a great spoof video out there, I just can't post it right now.
  10. $1.23 billion. Pegula is not cheap!
  11. He's got one one the hook, time to start reeling...
  12. If there was a hell no button, that is my vote.
  13. The quicker they sign their rookie deal, the quicker he can get to the final year, convince them to hold out and pressure us into trading them away. The sooner they sign, the better...
  14. I believe the plays mentioned in the post before yours was the beginning of him earning his dues.
  15. I agree with this. I am surprised when I see so many people acting as though EJ was awful last year and will never have a chance to become a serviceable starter in the NFL. He performed very well when he wasn't injured last year and although sometimes inconsistent, most if not all rookie QB's are. He showed great leadership when called upon to deliver in games where we may have fallen apart in the recent past and seems to be a good leader in the locker room as well. I believe we made the right pick for this team last year and I am excited to see how he progresses with the weapons and protection he is now surrounded with. If he can stay healthy, and continues to progress, I believe we may have the franchise QB we have lacked since #12 retired.
  16. Buy your Mom a heavy coat. LOL I love it.
  17. I agree, I loved seeing how excited he was to meet him.
  18. I agree, Ealy is compelling, even though I think O lineman is our best bet in round 2.
  19. I said 4th because that is probably the best we we get for him. That being said, we need to keep him on the team as our number 2 WR.
  20. What exactly has Toronto done to "deserve" a franchise? I can certainly understand why the NFL might want a franchise in Canada and Toronto makes sense, but why do they deserve a team? The fan base at the Bills home games seem largely dis-interested at best. The loyal fans in Buffalo are the ones who deserve a team, and not just any team, but one that is willing and able to become relevant in the league once again.
