I would love this scenario. We should be able to still get an impact player and add another second rounder. This would even give us the option to trade back into the bottom of first round if someone is there worth the fifth year option.
This depends 100% on who is on the board when our pick comes up.
Anyone who publicly linked this young mans name to these allegations owe him an apology. (I don't mean anyone who posted it here, but through larger outlets like Twitter)
I thought that was crazy too. Peterson seems like the type of player they love to bring in and see what's left in the tank. But because they passed on Peterson and if we got Hyde for that same 5th, the naysayers will say they outsmarted everyone.
I decided to add to my endorsement of James Conner here, rather than start a LAMP thread. The more I hear about Conner's back story and watch his highlights, the more I am convinced he would be an ideal change of pace back to LeSean McCoy. I really hope that he is available when we get to one of our 5th round picks and we pull the trigger. I would LOVE to see him in a Bills uniform and think he would be a more than suitable replacement to Gilislee.
On this we agree, but hopefully his input will help Whaley get the right type of players here to help develop his system, whatever that ends up being. I also respect his coordinators as "football people" as well, but only time will tell.
Maybe we will hit the jackpot with our 3rd fifth round pick this year! Now we will need the player that he will replace to be severely injured so that he can come in mid season and lead us to the promise land. Oh, and someone should sell their soul just to be on the safe side…
I heard many of the same things about Karlos Williams the year before and how he was going to end up with another team and make us look like the fools that we are. I think our running game is a strength, or at least it was in the system we used the last few years, and someone else will step in as the number 2 back and take advantage of this strength.
