This is a strange year for mock drafts. Usually there is some consistency between most of them, but this year is strange. you will see a player mocked in the top 10 on one list and then late in round 2 in another (like TJ Hockensen. #51 here, but Daniel Jeremiah has him at #8) There seems to be more of that this year than usual.

To be honest, I thought I had read that back when he had his run in over the jacket but after searching for it again, I did not see anything to this effect, so I retract that remark. (the comment may have been more about his "unwillingness" to play through his injury last season thank his effort in games) Certainly from the couple of times I've seen him play, along with the highlight video that is out there, he appears to go full speed and not give up from what I have seen. He seems like a player who could make a serious impact, as long as his size does not have a negative effect on his play in the NFL.

I have a feeling we will do something along these lines. Make our pick at 9 and then trade back into the late first for a WR. Good call.

So this got me wondering. What is the reason that they don't convert another lineman on the active roster to long snapper to save a roster spot? Is it that the skill set is so difficult to learn or is it that too much practice has to go into that spot, which would take away from that players "main" job? I am assuming long snapper is a specialist for every team, not just an additional duty for another player on the roster. Does anyone use an actual position player (not just one in title) rather than a specialist?

The benefit of building a team with a good culture is that you can add a player or two with a sketchy history and count on your team leaders keeping him on the right path. That being said, aside from some questions about him taking off plays, I never heard much about him being an issue, until his run in with Applewhite. Everyone deserves a pass, but if it helped him drop to us at 9, we owe Major A. a big thank you.

I have heard rumors that the Giants are high on Drew Lock. I am praying this is true, but it is probably draft misdirection. But damn, if they took Lock at 6 it would completely shake up the first round, hopefully in our favor.

For the record, I'd be happy with this. He is very talented, and at one point considered a top 3 pick before his run in with Major Applewhite. I prefer OL or WR, but if Oliver is on the board at 9, he is the BPA in my opinion. I just re-watched some of his highlights just for a refresher, and man can that guy move for a guy his size. He is fast off the ball and relentless in his pursuit. He would absolutely make this Defense better and be fun to watch at the same time.
