Mister Defense is a good name for someone pretending they are not really Cook’s Mom. I agree that is would be nice to get him re-signed but I am also glad we are not giving in to his “social media extortion”. He is an above average RB, but we have a solid RB2, and there are plenty of talented RB’s available in the middle of this draft. Not to mention that this O-line, and the threat of Josh keeping the ball, add to his success. I want him re-signed, but not sure if he merits $15 million/yr.

Well, it seems to me that a majority of the comments are saying they do not want him, so I wouldn’t say we are excited to bring him back. Seems to be high risk, low reward to me. Pass.

So much about success in the NFL hinges on system, supporting cast, Utilization, etc. There are a few handfuls of players in the league that will succeed solely on their own abilities. The vast majority need to be in the right place at the right time. Unfortunately, although I can’t blame them, many choose money over the right coach, right scheme, etc. The reality is, if you consider the other factors first, the money follows, more often than not.

We know. I think, here today, we are assessing the football player, on the field. Unfortunately, I feel his personal history will cast a long shadow over his professional achievements.
