It puts it in the hands of guys that are 20 games out of the playoff race. Mike Piaza tipping off pitches to the A.L? Where was he when the postseason came around? On a golf course. When you have Rockies, Pirates, Diamondbacks, and Expos determining the fate of teams like St. Louis that's just WRONG. There is NO OTHER WAY TO SLICE IT. The Cardinals have had opportunities and missed them. Rolen missed a huge one in game 1 in a tied game and we missed some last night. We aren't playing good right now, I won't debate that. We have to get back to playing Cardinals baseball. That doesn't mean I have to accept the fact tha those games were played in the wrong ballpark.

I agree with you 100 percent. That still doesn't change the fact that a WILD CARD TEAM has homefield advantage in the World Series over the best team in baseball.

RCow, that's not true, I have complained about it the last two years. I posted something durring last years all star game when Gagne was blowing that save about him screwing the N.L and how it was a joke anyways. This year I was also getting upset because I knew the Cards had a legit shot to get there. It doesn't matter who played a tougher schedule. It's no different then the NFL awarding homefield advantage to the team with the best record even if every team the played was 0-16. You play the regular season to earn the right to homefield advantage. If it isn't going to be done the right way, let's just throw every team into a best of 7 elimination tournament and flip coins to determine homefield for that series. Tater, you are a bitter Pirates fan. One of these days Barry will lead you to the World Series. Oh that's right, he got the hell out of there as soon as he could. I stated two, one is debatable, and the other is fact, the rule sucks. I also said they were kicking our asses.

I never liked that idea either. It should go to the team with the best record. St. Louis lost two World Series in the 1980's in years which they had a better record then their opponent simply based on the fact that the other team had homefield advantage. The series against the Twins sticks out. The home team won every game. I think you would have saw some different results if the games were in St. Louis.

Nah, they can take whatever side they want to Boneman. I like St. Louis, if I was the only Cardinals fan in the world that would be fine with me, and right now it sure seems like I am. The entire country is rooting for Boston outside of Cardinals fans.

I don't know about listless. I mean, the Cardinals put up 9 runs last night. Tonight they looked listless after the 4th inning though. LaRussa is a good manager and is a very laid back guy, I think some of that rubs onto his team. I'm not sure if that's a bad thing though. You Boston fans on this board would be very disgusted at some of the Boston trolls that are just flooding the Cardinals board. It's ridiculous. That makes them no better then the Chokees fans.

Tonights game was crappy. I can't believe LaRussa started Morris on 3 days rest. That's just stupid if you ask me.

I'll say it, the Sox are no better then NY as far as that goes. They are doing the same thing NY is. Most people just don't want to hear it. They are playing within the rules (as is NY) but the rules just suck.

Yep, Larry Walker was getting very frustrated. It's tough enough to hit a guy like Schilling when he is pitching with a good strike zone, and almost IMPOSSIBLE to do it when he's given a foot in each direction off the plate. The Cardinals bats will come alive at Busch. I think I'm going to turn the volume on FOX off though, I'm getting really tired with the Red Sox love fest already. The walks are killing us. We don't walk a few of those guys and they have 3 less runs.

Did I say get rid of him because of his play????? He makes way more then he is worth. He is a very good (but not GREAT) wr. He is getting top dollar (top 5 WR money in the league I would guess) and he is only about the 10th best in the NFL. He's gotta come cheaper is all, if that happens I'm all for keeping him. If not he needs to be let go.

Here is the thing, the erros last night DID hurt them, they just got a homer in the bottom of the 8th to win it. Tonight most of the erros came in situations with 2 outs and no one on and whatnot. You are still going to have to get a hit to score runs after the errors. We didn't do it. If they keep committing those erros though, at some point we will jump on them and take advantage of them.

Talk to me after some games are played in St. Louis. All Boston has done is what they are SUPPOSED to do. It's as simple as this. St. Louis only has to win ONE GAME in Boston to win the World Series. If we win the next 3 games in St. Louis Boston then has to win the next two at home again. It's just that simple. And if Boston wins, a tip of the cap to them, it was finally their time. If not then 1918 will live on.

Yeah, that was just as dumb as it is now. St. Louis is being penalized because Roger Clemens went out and gave up 6 runs in the first inning of the ALL STAR GAME. The St. Louis players were the only ones that did ANYTHING for the N.L that night. It's just a joke, but it sums up the overall state of baseball.

They have looked good. I have to hand it to Curt Schilling. What a warrior that guy has been. The two things that I will digress with however........ The strike zone tonight has been horrible. The Sox pitchers have gotten the borderline calls, we have not, and with a thin strike zone you are forced to give guys hittable pitches. They have hit them (as they should). My biggest beef however is the homefield advantage. These games should be in St. Louis. Why even play for the best record when you aren't rewarded for it? The All Star game??? What a joke. Oh well, doesn't much matter, we win 3 in St. Louis and we are one away from the pennant.

Bills fans are the biggest of dreamers. It would have been nice to rip off 3 or 4 in a row and at least make it so the games were meaningful somewhat, but most FACTS pointed against that happening. I mean how was this offense going to score more then a field goal against Baltimore? Can anyone honestly tell me that in any of the cases where we had it first and goal that you thought we would score?
