(OT) Nine years in the clink for sending Spam?

It's called personal accountability. I think that's the point I'm trying to make. -

I NEVER said people shouldn't be held accountable for getting a job. I said more jobs need to be provided by our government so people are able to get them. If you have 10 people that are unemployed welders, and there are only 5 jobs as a welder open, that creates a bit of a problem doesn't it Paco? So yes, I expect the government to create more jobs, which the Bush administration is not doing very well (they are making a small ammount of progress, but not enough.) -

Whatever you say Tom. I make plenty of sense, Steve understood my point (doesn't agree, but understood) right away. -

Are you a drinker? Liquor was once banned in this country. It's now legal. Assuming you are a drinker, would you stop drinking if it were banned again tomorrow because the government suddenly decided you can't for whatever reason they wanted to make up? I would assume you would still want to drink. Does that make you a bad person? No. Just because some higher up has put in place a law, doesn't mean I have to agree with it. -

See, that's the problem with a lot of people in this day in age. They don't agree with someone so all of a sudden that person is stupid or what he's saying is stupid. Not everyone has the same views, I think that you need to realize this and understand that because someone doesn't share your views, that doesn't make them stupid. -

Like I'm the first person to ever get drunk and post about it here. You're reaching Tom. -

Paco did you even read what I said? I said most do want jobs, that would entail that they take responsibility for finding them. When there aren't any job openings (look at the Buffalo area) it becomes a little tough to get one. That doesn't mean they aren't trying. -

And of course the "Horrible Human Being" would stop by to add nothing to this conversation. -

You have a lot of pent up anger, I won't add to it anymore. -

I see the usual cast of characters has come out not to add anything to the conversation, but to attack the poster. This board is just so full of love, and we wonder why people have departed in droves. -

You bring up a good point. Our own government has firmly supported the "Guns don't kill people. People kill people." motto by allowing their citizens to buy and carry arms. So if we buy into the "Guns don't kill people. People kill people." motto isn't dealing drugs the same type of thing? I could just as easily go shoot someone with a newly purchased gun as I could OD on drugs. -

Paco, there are many reasons that someone may be unemployed. Not everyone that's unemployed DOESN'T want a job. Most of them do. Just so you know. -

Now we start with the personal attacks, the usual result at the end of a debate when one person is defeated. Go on, let it out. -

I'm not asking you to agree with me Steve. I have been able to state my case with examples relating to other things, while the people trying to disprove what I'm saying have simply given up on their arguments because they have nothing to support them with. -

The guy is mentally ill. It would help if you understood the full stroy. You do know he spent a small period of time as a Bill right? -

Another one bites the dust. You can't even defend yourself anymore since your argument has been proven false. -

Thank you, you have just made my whole point for me (you didn't even do it on purpose). You say people choose to come here? True, SDS is providing them something they want. They are hurting their employers by yapping here instead of working. Spammers are forcing the loss of production time. In that sense, I would agree that is criminal. The force of harm in my eyes is criminal. However, a drug dealer hardly has to force anything on anyone. -

Unfortunately in our society there are a lot of people that don't deserve to be parents. Many children are neglected, beaten, etc etc etc, by their parents. A parent that uses drugs falls into this category. If they die from using drugs they do hurt their children, but that is more of a moral issue then anything else. A drug dealer is just providing something that someone has asked for. It's not their job to be the moral police for America (god help us if they were). It's just like a gun dealer, it's not their job to police you once you leave their shop. If you go blow your brains out in front of your kid, that's not their problem. I'm not saying it's a responsible way to make a living, but it's not criminal in my eyes. -

I've heard it all now. SDS, you should be getting a knock on your door from the FBI. Your site is killing American workers production. -

Hitmen=criminals That doesn't even compare. It's murder for hire, the person doing the hiring is also a murderer. -
I agree. Just like Osama was an acceptable terrorist back in the 1980's when he was useful to us.

Murderers and rapists are granted parole because our jails are overcrowded largely due to the war on drugs and mandatory minimums. You don't consider this to be a problem Nervous Guy? You honestly think someone busted for smoking a joint belongs in the same place as a rapist or murderer? -

1. Just because someone tells you that something is against the law doesn't make it wrong. Do you always obey the speed limit? 2. If a guy goes out and kills someone high on drugs I lay the blame solely on the person that did the killing. The same thing goes for bartenders. If someone leaves a bar and goes and kills someone on the road, that's their fault, not the bartenders. Those are my views. -

As compared to rapists and murderers who are out roaming the streets at night? No they aren't.
