OT-Mark Mulder traded to Cardinals
BF_in_Indiana replied to Thailog80's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Mulder - 81-42 lifetime Clement- 69-75 lifetime Yeah we both got average pitchers alright. St. Louis got a potential Cy Young winner, Boston got a number 4 starter. -

My bad. For some reason I always thought it was spelled with an O. I feel for you though, it's a joke that a team like Oakland is forced to give up superstars because they can't keep them. They have become the Montreal Expos of baseball now, everyone elses farm system. Beane is a great GM though, Oakland will do alright. We are glad to have him though. -

He has a 2.25 ERA in October in 4 starts. We got a much better bargain than Boston who just paid 25 million for 3 years for Matt Clement. He's alright, but we are paying MARK MOULDER less money. Rick Ankiel is going to be in our bullpen this year. He is pitching lights out in winter league ball and appears to be back to the form he was at in 2000. Steve Kiline isn't being resigned for locker room reasons basically. -

He was overworked big time in 2004. That won't be the case in St. Louis where we have a very good bullpen and he won't have to pitch a lot of complete games. He is probably the best of the three. Hudson would probably be second, and Zito would be third. -

I think the A's got a good deal and the Cardinals definately profitted from it. Dan Harren is ready to be a good major league starter now and Calero is a very good 7th/8th inning setup guy. Barton is our best minor league position prospect but is 2 or 3 years away. He's only 19. I'm a very happy Cardinals fan though. We are getting an ace for 6 million a year this year and 7.5 million next year, much cheaper than NY is going to have to pay Johnson. -
I would like to apologize for early week...

While you have absolutely NOTHING to apologize for, thank you anyways, I guess It's your board Scott, if someone doesn't like the work you put into it they are entitled to go elsewhere. -

It's a big pick up for us. We need an anchor for our staff. I think we should also sign Milwood but we probably won't. Our rotation now looks like this. Moulder Morris Marquis Suppan Carpenter That's not horrible, I would like to get someone to take Suppans spot though. -
The amazing Ben isn't having the game Eli is

Food is not in the same category as marijuna. Marijuana would be sonsidered a "sin" tax. They want everyone paying them the "sin" taxes. -
Pittsburgh needs to win this game
BF_in_Indiana replied to BF_in_Indiana's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm not afraid, but if came down to us getting in the playoffs I would prefer they aren't playing for anything. Yeah, I know if we can't beat them full strength we don't belong, but I just want to get in any way possible darnit. -
They need to win this game. If they lose today they will most likely drop 1 game behind NE in the race for homefield. We have to have them win next week and if they lose today they will be forced to play hard against us no matter what because they will be a game behind in home field. We cannot have them lose to Baltimore, so they need this one.

Big Ben has created problems
BF_in_Indiana replied to BF_in_Indiana's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Did I say he was great today? No but he's been alright. I haven't said anything about Drew since the Seattle game when he thre 3 interceptions. He threw for a lot of yards, but a couple of his picks killed drives. You can't have that out of a quarterback. If you go back and pull a post up from after the opener I said he had a good game and he had one TD and an INT, with about 150 yards throwing. He managed the game well though, and that's what I want to see. Hell he managed the game well Sunday against Cleveland as well and only had 100 yards throwing. -
What has gotten into Eli Manning?
BF_in_Indiana replied to daquixers's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well I guess I should have said "some" say he had a great game with those numbers. Most of us critique him, but lately he has played very well. -
Anyone still think we cant beat the Steelers?
BF_in_Indiana replied to daquixers's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah I'm very concerned that they lose to Baltimore. It is an absolute MUST that the Ravens lose tomorrow night. -

Big Ben has created problems
BF_in_Indiana replied to BF_in_Indiana's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree with part of that point. I agree he is on a very good team, but he has made a lot of good throws. Eli hasn't experienced any success yet, but that doesn't mean he won't be a very good quarterback in the NFL. His brother was terrible in his rookie year, and he's about to break maybe the toughest passing record there is to break. Well I take that back, I think Johnny Unitas streak of 47 straight games with a TD is the toughest. -
Big Ben has created problems for the other rookie QB's in the NFL, including J.P Losman. The NY media is having a field day comparing Ben to Eli when in reality Big Ben has a great cast around him and isn't being asked to do a lot. Bills fans will be the next group to start into the comparison as soon as J.P gets in there and struggles early either next year or the year after. Comparing them just isn't fair. Most rookies start out horribly. Peyton Manning was no exception. The bar has been set very (and unfairly) high by Ben. I hope Bills fans aren't quick to turn on J.P when he struggles early.

The United States government will never allow the legalization of marijuana because as was mentioned before, even if they come up with a way to tax it and get their hands in the cookie jar they would not be able to prevent someone from growing their own and not paying the government for the use of it. If they don't feel they can get a piece of the pie from everyone it will stay ilegal. -
(OT) Hudson to Braves; Beltre to Seattle

Further analysis on Team Sacks

The Bills are also 7th in the league in takeaways with 28. We had 19 both last year and the year before. It's nice to see improvement. -
Further analysis on Team Sacks
BF_in_Indiana replied to bartshan-83's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Earlier in the year when we were losing I dissed Jerry Gray and his defense for not getting enough sacks and forcing turnovers. I listened to a lot of people tell me how we were third in the league and that the turnovers didn't really matter so much as well as sacks. Look at the last 4 games. What have we done in those games? Forced TO's and gotten sacks. Our offense looks a lot better when we do this. We do these two things and we are dominant. -
I don't think I have ever disagreed that titles are won on the field, however the unfair advantage created is not right. Look at the LCS Teams since 1998. 1998- NY Yankees, Cleveland, Atlanta, San Diego 1999- NY Yankees, Boston, Atlanta, NY Mets 2000- NY Yankees, Seattle, St. Louis, NY Mets 2001- NY Yankees, Seattle, Arizona, Atlanta 2002- Anaheim, Minnesota, SF Giants, St. Louis 2003- NY Yankees, Boston, Chicago, Florida 2004- NY Yankees, Boston, St. Louis, Houston NY Yankees- 6 times Boston- 3 times St. Louis- 3 times Atlanta- 3 times NY Mets- 2 times Seattle 2 times What do EVERY ONE of those teams have in common? High payrolls. St. Louis has a high payroll for the N.L. Atlanta had a huge payroll durring their run, as did the Mets. The highest payroll doesn't always win, but it almost ensures you get there and have a shot.
-
I don't disagree, St. Louis choked, that still doesn't mean the monetary rules of baseball are fair.
-
You always have those 26 titles to fall back on.

Must make you real proud. Easiest time being a fan you will ever find.
