I've never been along and actually saw him do it. He's just told me about it. I won't report something I didn't see with my own two eyes. -

I agree, but that doesn't mean I need to do all that on the 1 in a million shot that something ever does happen. Owning a handgun and knowing how to use it is enough for me. -

Well let's put it this way. A friend of mine loves guns and owns several, but he's the type of guy that will go out at night and shoot stop signs and stuff. He's not a criminal, but let's be honest, should someone like that really be the owner of handguns? -

I agree. I do however feel that there needs to be a better background check system in place. It's too easy for someone to buy a gun that shouldn't have one. -

Well that's my issue too. The rights of the responsible gun owners should not be taken away, but at the same time there are far too many IDIOTS that own guns and you see situations like this one because of it. -

I'm kind of torn on the issue of gun control. On one hand I don't want to see the right to bear arms taken away, but on the other let's face it, a lot of people are too stupid to have a firearm. -
I think it's a given that we can improve at the quarterback spot, but where else do you guys think we can improve ourselves this offseason? My areas for improvement are as follows. C- Teague is a backup at best. He's not very quick off the ball and he's undersized a good portion of the time. G- We could stand to improve both G positions. DE- I still think we could improve here. Schobel got a huge extension and quite honestly I don't think he's worth it. I think he had 6 sacks this year. That doesn't cut it from the DE spot. We need more pressure from this spot. Kelsay is coming along but he's still young. WR- Moulds and Evans are solid but after those two I think this spot needs some work. There isn't enough speed outside of Evans. That's a main issue here. K- The reasons are obvious. TE- We don't have a gamebreaker at TE and if Bledsoe is going to be the quarterback here we need to find him a top notch TE like Gates from San Diego. I would also like to see another linebacker brought in to compete with Posey. Posey really isn't doing what we need him to do. He doesn't create a whole lot of pressure. I think some of it has to do with gameplanning, but I don't think he's hte playmaker we expected when we signed him.

Well from all accounts Randy Johnson is an alright guy, without actuallying seeing the video I can't say Randy Johnson was even out of line here. I think he'll be fine. -

He'll be fine, the Yankees are better for having him on their team. -

Yes Stu Ungar died because of drugs. Thank you for the history lesson. I don't believe I would call Stu Ungar a hero by any means. Under my avatar it says "The Greatest". Stu Ungar is in fact the greatest no limit Texas Hold 'Em player ever. And yes I had an avatar featuring Dimebag Darrell Abbott who was one of my favorite guitar players and was gunned down on stage durring a concert last month. I was showing respect to one of my favorite musicians who was taken far too soon. If you would like to read what I think about Stu Ungar go check out my blog.

I'm with ya!!!

It's my opinion, I never said anyone had to agree with it. Hell look at what he did to the Jets, what a class guy he is.

Carlos Beltran free to sign with anyone
BF_in_Indiana replied to millbank's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The starting pitching improved with Mulder added to the rotation and Morris will be healthy this year. Rick Ankiel could step into the rotation and if he pitches like he did in 2000 our rotation will be VERY good. As of right now it looks like this. Mulder Carpenter Morris Suppan Marquis It has the potential to be very good. What about the World Series? We played horribly over a 4 game stretch, that doesn't mean we aren't a great team does it? -
He had basically made it known well before 2003 that he would not be resigning in Buffalo when his contract was up. The Bills didn't even try to resign him because he didn't want to play here first and foremost. He rubbed me the wrong way, it's just my opinion.
-
I'm hateful now too? Did you take the time to read my most recent post in that Bledsoe thread earlier today?

Screw Winfield. He couldn't catch a cold in Buffalo and in the end never planned to sign with us once his rookie contract ran out. He never wanted to be a Buffalo Bill, but he enjoyed the paycheck he was getting here. He's a piece of sh--.

I'm not going to rip Beltran as a player, he's a damn good player, but when you pump almost 30 million a year into two players you are going to have to neglect a portion of your team down the road. Even the Yankees have done that (pitching) by pumping so much into the superstar players they have overpaid for. -
Anyone see the last two plays?
BF_in_Indiana replied to BF_in_Indiana's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well first off, I would agree that honestly there aren't any viable solutions to the Bledsoe problem. Why? For starters there isn't a free agent QB out there this year that's worth a sh--. Secondly, J.P Losman is not ready to be a starting QB. So if that's what you mean by solutions you are correct, I have none. As far as citing two plays from the entire season, if you would like I can point to a lot more than two. How about his seven sack performance against Oakland? His 4 interception game against Baltimore? His dreadful performance in the first Jets game? What about his nightmare in New England? These are all situations that I think Drew Bledsoe single handedly took the Bills out of the game. The New England game was the worst, but the others aren't far behind. You can not have a quarterback that will lose a game for you all by himself more than once in a season. Every quarterback is going to have a bad game from time to time, but when it's basically half the season that the quy sucks it's too obvious to ignore. I was a big Bledsoe supporter until this year. I tried blaming it on Gilbride and his system. I tried blaming it on our recievers and our offensive line. I've even tried blaming it on the defense from time to time, but when it comes down to it, Drew is the single biggest reason this team has hovered around .500 since he's been here. That is nothing new forhim. He's either a game over or under .500 for his entire career (it's either 78-77 or 77-78) I can't remember. That's all he'll ever be in the NFL, a .500 quarterback. He's been in the NFL for 12 seasons and his numbers have always been about the same whether the team was great ('96 Patriots) or the team was bad (2000 Patriots, 2003 Bills). I don't think the Bills need Brett Favre to win the Super Bowl. They need a quarterback that can manage a game and make smart decisions. If you can honestly tell me you think Drew Bledsoe makes good decisions on a football field than there is nothing I can do to change your thinking. I'm not really trying to honestly, it's your right to believe Drew will get us to the promised land, but it's also mine to believe he won't. So far though we are a hell of a lot closer to the first pick in the draft than we are to the promised land. -

The thing about Beltran is this. He's a 40/40 type player but this dollar ammount is based on his performance over 12 games!!!! He batted .267 last year. He just got 119 million dollars for his performance over a 12 game stretch.
