Yahoo Sports grades the bills last
BF_in_Indiana replied to JeffGordon's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Quiet down, the Bills are in good hands, can't you see all the success we've had? I can't even count how many playoff games we have had here with 'Ol Whitey at the helm. Oh wait I guess I don't have to. The answer is ZERO. -
Why not look at Steelers' UFA SS Ainsley Battles?
BF_in_Indiana replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Battles was already in camp with the Bills two years ago and quit in the middle of camp. -

LOL. Well in TD's opinion he did a good job Hey I think that any of us here can argue with his results. 26-38 I'm sure some fans could put together a run like that as GM. -

Smartass. Well let's look at our draft from start to finish. The goals coming in according to most observers were. 1. Unload Travis Henry. TD failed to do this. 2. Remedy the offensive tackle situation so we don't have Trey Teague playing tackle. While we did take an OT in round 6, on paper that does not look like it is a solution for this season or even the next few. We failed (not sure if we tried) to trade up for Barnes who was picked just a few spots in front of us. 3. Pick up a DT. We really blew this one in my opinion with Hawthorne sitting there in round 5. 4. Pick up a tight end. We were successful in doing this. I'm fine with the pick we made in this regard. 5. Take a player who can help us now with our first pick in round two. I do not feel that Parrish is going to help us this year and I didn't like the pick. While TD keeps taking the best on the board vs need we keep finishing 8-8 and 9-7. In 2 or 3 years I may tell you it turned out great, but sitting here looking at what we did this weekend does not really impress me whatsoever. -

I think they are spot on. I have no idea why we didn't make a move to try to pick up Barnes when he was there for the taking. We didn't address our needs very well (a disturbing trend under Donahoe) I have yet to see the Bills draft rated highly and I agree with the low marks that our front office has been given. -
Don't know if this was posted, but FOX sports,

Well at least the fans got a better grade than the front office is right now. -
MY BUFFALO BILLS..... I just wanted to say...
BF_in_Indiana replied to NavyBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
While I appreciate and cherish what the early 90's Bills were able to do, I will never be satisied until we are finally the champs. -
I don't need a spot on the bridge, but I am not going to tell you I'm happy about drafting a running back and a wideout when we have more pressing needs and guys like Wilkerson were still on the board.

Wow, what a draft.

Hawthorne should be our pick

2 things in regards to this post. 1. Warren Sapp tested positive at the combine. He turned out to be quite a football player didn't he? The scouting guide on him sounded just about the same as it does on Hawthorne. 2. Why would Edwards become as bad as I'm predicting? It's all about the situation you put someone in. Edwards has not done very well when forced to play any significant time. So if the plan is for him to play most of the time, I'm not holding my breath with optomism. -
The Henry for Calico deal makes a lot of sense when you look at how the Titans have drafted this year. Hearing Mularkey saying "things are in the works" sounds good to me, but what do I know?
-
Would just like to point out that
BF_in_Indiana replied to John from Riverside's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well I can hardly blame people for making analogies like "we have our two OL bums for the year" because this team always seems to neglect the line in the first 3 or 4 rounds of the draft and then hopes to get lucky with a flyer in round 6 or 7. Instead we are out there reaching on guys like Parrish who is of no real help to us this season. -
Excellent choice with Justin

This pick is pretty good. I like this one and the Everett pick. The other picks I don't care for. -

Come talk to me when he's forced to play all the time and gets 2 sacks for the entire season and is horrible in run support. Then talk to me about him and how "great" he was in spot duty. Kevin Thomas was good in spot duty too. He has never shown anything when asked to do it on a full time basis. That's why we keep drafting CB's. Because guys like Thomas haven't panned out like we had hoped even though they are still here in backup roles. -

Because we need more WR's and CB's. -

Preston was a horrible pick in the 4th. He was graded out by most as a 6th-7th rounder. The comparison made about him is to Trey Teague (I'm so excited, NOT.) -
We only have 6 picks this year?
BF_in_Indiana replied to cåblelady's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
And ya wonder why I was fuming last year when we picked Losman. I'm a little happier about it now than I was when I started cussing last year though. I'm watching the Cardinals game waiting for us to pick. 4-1 Cardinals in the 2nd. -

BF_in_Indiana replied to BF_in_Indiana's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's definately the wrong pick. We just resigned Kevin Thomas and we have Nate Clements, McGee, Vincent, and Kevin Thomas who can all play corner. I would much rather see us use a pick to grab a guy like Hawthorne who could help us on opening day 2005 than I would see us take a guy who might not help us this year or next. We have a good team right now, we need people that can help us now. -

Well I love the fact that a guy who tested positive for steroids (cheating) is able to get drafted in the first round and a guy who got caught smoking a little weed is still on the board in the 5th even though he is a first or second round talent. Great message that's sending. It's ok to cheat, but don't get caught smoking pot in todays NFL. -

I love how we keep taking guys at positions we are already covered at while positions like the OL and DT are neglected. Oh I forgot, Ron Edwards must be the answer. -

We are in the 5th round. The thing is, all of these guys as this point in the draft are just educated guesses moreso than the first 2 or 3 rounds. Why not take a chance on a first round talent type guy in the 5th round? If he pans out we have a top notch defensive tackle in round 5, if not it was only a 5th rounder. -
We need help at DT and he is the best player left at that position. I'll be a little upset if we don't take him if given the chance.
