1. I didn't see this earlier.  But you're kidding right./  How the !@#$ do you know if I am black, white or purple !@#$ing pocka dots.  That is about one of the most racist comments I have ever !@#$ing seen.

I could give two ***** what color someone is.  I take people for what they are.  AI, RA,  Bill Lambere (sp??), etc....  all !@#$ing thugs.  All stupid and all NBA players.  Go do some research buddy, AI cripple a girl in high school, by breaking a chair over her back.  Yeah real outstanding citizen there, all because someone called him the N word.  I find what she did horrible but no need to break a chair over her back.  Ron Artest started throwing punches at paying customers because he got a paper cup thrown at him, him teammates joined him.  Turns out on film Ron Artest didn't even attack the person who threw the cup.  But don't let that fact bother you and your little racist tirade.

Would you give up the !@#$ing Ron Artest bit? The original comments I made had NOTHING to do with Ron !@#$ing Artest. Not a !@#$ING thing. I'm not even the one who brought up Ron !@#$ING Artest. Do you get my !@#$ing drift here? Well now that you got that sh-- straightened out. Why don't you read into what the comments were really about? The comments in this thread are of a racist nature and I've seen threads in the past about the NBA that refer to the players the same way they are talked about in this thread. You don't have to say "it's because he's black" for someone to know what you are insinuating. I don't hear any of these comments about other sports which have the same problem. Why is that? You want to know why, because in other sports there is a greater mixture of blacks and whites than there is in the NBA. The NBA is a prodominately black league and there is this negative thought process shown towards the players because of it.

Why don't you check the NFL arrest reports before you call the NBA a league of "thugs". We both know what you really mean to say.

Deny it all you want, you know the truth and so do I.

  2. The Pacers players outside of Artest went into the stands to protect a teammate who was being attacked by multiple fans at that point. If my friend was in trouble I would certainly jump into the fire and help him out.

The initial brawl started between Artest and one fan. The same thing has happened in the NHL. Attacking a paying customer is cut and dry in the sports world.

  3. Yeah the pacers are a great example. What other team goes into the stands and beats the sh-- out of the patrons together as a team better then them.  Ron Artest my hero.  I am sure someday he will be the kingpin of his cellblock.

    That statement is just stupid.

They play great team defense and share the ball.

  4. OK, good point, I should have clarified that out of 30 teams in the NBA, 90% of them play streetball while the other 10% plays the game with finess and defense.

Sorry for generalizing but for the sake of ranting, the NBA is a game run by players, for the most part.

    355406

The Pacers, Suns, Heat, and Sonics are also good examples of teamwork and togetherness.

  5. This statement is exactly what the NBA has become. The players march to the beat of their own drum, for the most part and the coaches are afraid to tell the players what to do. How many coaches have been axed over the last 10 years because his players didn't like playing for him because he told them what to do? The NBA is made up of criminals with enough talent to get paid.

On another note, it's almost sickening to watch an NBA game because of the amount of whistles that are blown. The flow of the game can't last more the 30 seconds without one of the refs blowing the whistle on something, though not blowing it on the "star" players because they don't like being told that they did something wrong. The game has gotten into the pathetic stage and that's a shame for a game that used to be fun to watch.

Sorry for the F-F-S type rant.

    355380

I find this statement to be very ironic considering the two teams currently playing for the title emphasize teamwork and togetherness in every sense of the word.

  6. But that doesn't really back up your argument that all that stuff is being said about the NBA b/c they're black since there's a few guys on that list that are white.

    355381

So in other words you would like to express that the NFL has both whites and blacks getting arrested while the NBA is strictly black in that regard? Am I correct to assume this?

  7. Yeah, it's the color of their skin that makes them criminals.  Not the fact that they actually get arrested or father multiple children with multiple women and then don't handle their responsibilities despite making millions of dollars.  All of the status, none of the responsibility.

The issue is in YOUR head.

    355347

BS. The NFL is FULL of guys like the NBA has. FULL of them. I don't hear anyone wishing the NFL would get cancelled and then start talking about the lifestyles of players. The NFL has PLENTY of these same personalities in their league, but we don't hear about those people in the same context the NBA players are referred to in.

If ya don't like the NBA fine, but trashing on players getting arrested is pretty weak if you ask me.

    O.J Simpson - murderer

Ray Lweis- also involved in a murder

Onterio Smith - poster boy for High Times

Ross Verba - Two instances of rape in his home

    Jamal Lewis- drug trafficer

Kerry Collins- public enemy number 1 for M.A.D.D

    Travis Henry - child rapist

Mark Chamura- likes his babysitter a little too much

I could go on and on and on.

  8. Racist comments abound in this thread.

Why not just lynch all these "criminals" and 'thugs". Go ahead and say it. They are thugs and criminals because they are black. That's what you all really mean to say.

Some of you make me laugh so hard.

  9. This is almost unbearable, but let's put another perpective on what you said.  With a tad little less homerism in it.  Although, let me preface these remarks, with, I'm not necessarily disappointed that we no longer have PW or JJ.  However the article GRADES THE BILLS OFF-SEASON.  But let's stick to your format.....

Perception:  The bills lost a very capable starting LT and picked up nobody to replace him; thus, the very average OL will take another step backward, especially protecting the blind side of a rookie QB.

A different perspective on reality:  The bills did not re-sign a pretty good LT who was  overpaid in free agency, and have a fantastic OL coach working with players already on the roster to find a replacement.  The only option besides shuffling an already average line is Gandy.  Gandy couldn't stick in Chicago, a team with one of the worst O-Line's in football, and one of the worst teams in the NFL period.  Coaches can be very helpful, but if he has a player that is a stiff, there's only so much he can do.

Different Truth: Nobody knows how the new LT will perform, although the replacement was a struggling scrub who played on one of the worst teams in the NFL.  The rest of the OL is very average outside of an improving Mike Williams.  New signee Benny Anderson is also a castoff from Baltimore who is said to be lacking in everything but straight ahead run blocking.  However, because Anderson does runblock well, he is the kind of candidate McNally can really turn around.  Chances are though, Gandy isn't.

Different perception:  The bills lost a damn good DT who was very good alongside Sam Adams making the tandem one of the best in the league, and signed nobody to replace him.  Many think the defense may be vulnerable in the middle with basically two unknowns being called upon and Sam Adams yet another year older in age.  The overall defensive unit should remain the teams strength again this year, however.

Different Reality:  Having Fat Sam and Big Pat was very comforting to all Bills fans.  Both Adams and Williams had flashes of dominating games on their own.  Both are getting up there in age, espcially considering their terrible physical condition, and what kind of shape they are in.  That should make the aging process a little bit faster.  However, the two guys that are "developing" are basically unknowns and aren't highly touted prospects by anyone outside of the Bills org.  As a matter of fact, one of them is a former starter who couldn't hold down the job before.  Here's hoping one of them are ready now.

Truth:  Buffalo loses 1 starter on a defense that was pretty damn good except for some bad lapses in a couple of crunch times.  Odds are that Edwards and Anderson can fill in adequately for a player who was on the field roughly 2/3 of the time and the buffalo defense does not drop off that much.  Although, the run stuffing middle of the D-Line, which had lapses sometimes last year, will no longer be a strength of the team.  It looks like the strength of this team is it's secondary and LB's corp, while it's DL may have a couple of holes, especially if Fat Sam starts to show his age.

Just a little different opinion on things.

    354914

I agree with all of that for sure. The Bills offseason was um........how do I put this.....oh yeah.........POOR.

Glad we addressed the left tackle and defensive tackle spots in the draft.

KD I'm gonna assume the guy you know is Shane Schleger? He's in a tough seat with only 134,000 in chips. The big stack at the table is behind him and if Meng La doubles up he also will act behind him most of the day. David Pham is there as well as Phil Gordon.

I'm pulling for Phil Gordon or your friend.

  13. "Controlling an audience" is certainly not a factor that I've ever considered important to a musical performance I am attending, but that's just me I guess. I prefer bands to front men. With that said, Priest kicked some serious A' in their time when I was in high school...

    354467

I agree with you. That's one thing about a lot of todays new bands, they don't even work the crowd. The get up there and stand still playing their music. Don't talk to the crowd, don't do anything.

  14. I have to agree with Darin here. I have seen all of these bands live (except KISS) and Halford is better at controlling the audience than any you mentioned. Ozzy is OK, but not at the same level as Halford. Hetfield isn't even in the same league at controlling an audience.

    354286

I guess it depends on the audience, because Hetfield was better than Halford and although I won't say he has been every time, I've seen OZZY control the crowd better than Rob too or at least when I saw Rob. He just wasn't that good that night for whatever reason.

OZZY with Sabbath behind him is just unbelieveable. Gonna see Sabbath again this summer and I can't wait.
