  1. Lets hope Stephi doesn't have the potential for too big of a bust
  2. Counting IR and Practice Squad 65 players that would live and spend in that locality. Coaching Staff ~15 PR, Marketing, Scouts, Medical, and Executives I'd have to guess roughly 100 (they list 30 directors and scouts on the site). Gameday employees (parking, security, food, etc...) ~2000 He created about 200 Full-time positions in Baltimore, which directly came from the Cleveland market. Especially when 53 players are making $390k minimum with 4 players making over $6 million, it is a big bite out of the local economy as that won't be spent there, but rather in Baltimore.
  3. Ralph has a 1000x more respect for sticking with Buffalo through thick and thin. I guarantee you won't see these comments for him. What Modell did to Cleveland is deplorable, he took away a number of jobs from a locality in the name of greed. While I have no ill will for him, I can understand it.
  4. just to enforce/correct certain things here: there are 7 non-dressing spots on the roster after last year as the 3rd rule is no-longer in effect. So, here are my 7: Brad Smith Terrence McGee Alex Carrington Delano Howell Colin Brown Sam Young One of the following: Tarvaris Jackson, Kyle Moore, Dorin Dickerson, Ruvell Martin. If I was choosing, I'd pick Martin and then cut him. I'm guessing Jackson until he learns the play Kleinsasser was a beast of blocker regardless of FB or TE. I wish there were more guys like him in the NFL
  5. Ugh, I get it, but Ruvell Martin can't catch a cold. He could be in the drop site of an anthrax bomb and he wouldn't catch it. So, in reality the Bills still have 4 WR's and stonehanded gunner.
  6. No, he doesn't. New scheme and DC this year.
  7. Beerball or Scott, please Stickie this thread.
  8. Starters in bold: QB (2)- Fitz, Jackson HB (3)- Jackson, Choice, Spiller FB (1)- Dickerson WR (7)- Johnson, Jones, Nelson, Graham, Hagan, Roosevelt, B. Smith TE (3)- Chandler, Smith, Brock T (4)- Glenn, Pears, Hairston, Sanders G (3)- Levitre, Urbik, Rinehart C (2)- Wood, Brown Offense- 25 DE (4)- Williams, Kelsay, Anderson, Gilbert DT (4)- Dareus, Williams, Johnson, Heard OLB (5)- Moats, Barnett, Morrison, Scott, Bradham ILB (3)- Sheppard, McKillop, Carder CB (5)- Williams, Gilmore, McFumble, Rogers, Brooks S (3)- Byrd, Wilson, Searcy Defense 24 LS (1)- Sanborn K (2)- Potter, Lindell P (1)- Moorman Cuts- Thigpen, White, Z. Brown, McIntyre, Clowney, R. Martin, Easley, Aiken, Carmon, Williams, Snow, Asper, Young, Eddins, Moore, D. Edwards, Carrington, White, McGee, Green, Howell, Saenz PUP- Caussin IR- Troup PS- Easley, Aiken, Asper, Howell, and 3 from other squads I see the Bills abandoning the fullback, and using Dickerson as an H-back. McGee has some injury issues that make him a question mark and expendable based on the depth of the position.
  9. Shhh that is too much common sense. The NFL should have some reserve list like baseball does where you must be on the a long term DL to free up another spot for a minor leaguer/ PS'er
  10. I want some of whatever the OP is on, especially if it is good on back pain.
  11. The High School that I work at has FieldTurf (thanks to a generous donation), and the kids wear short spikes explicitly to prevent said injuries.
  12. That is a very accurate comparison, though I am sure that Jeff Fisher and Vince Young didn't beat each other into oblivion.
  13. The Bills employed a bit of cover 3 in particular during the 2min drill. So gilmore had deep third while outside backer, nickel back, or G. Wilson was to cover the outside underneath zone. However, up until then the Bills were playing a tough bump and run with a 1-deep or 2-deep shell. This was giving the Stillers more trouble without the necessity for blitzing.
  14. Say what you want McFumble was everywhere in the first half. He stood out to me in the first half as he was successful in the nickel, as a gunner, and as a returner.
  15. That was the Bills basically letting the main 4 call it a day until the Stillers got inside the red zone. With that play, it was goofy. They used the senator as a robber while in a cover 3 shell where Gilmore had deep responsibility on that side. Thus a nice pocket was there for Pig Ben to throw to.
  16. the #2's looked like crap in general. Vince had a bad game, but we'll see if chuddy will penalize him for it.
  17. sorry I was out of town the last couple days, I just saw the emails within the last few minutes. -Justin
  18. It doesn't take a lot to make the south sound silly. There is some validity to his statements as the preseason polls create a sense of bias from the onset, and from there the polls do matter in the BCS. Really the best way the SEC could prove itself would be to have the NCAA expand the national championship tourney to at least 8 teams. This way the SEC could show that it is truly king or if Big 12 teams, Boise, TCU, or some other team has a rightful claim.
  19. wrong team... or wrong thread. That game was against the Ray-duhs The Bills beat Shula/Marino/Cox Dolphins 44-34 the week before.
  20. WRT to Easley, Chan and co thought high enough of him that they started him the last two games of the preseason. If he is on the bubble, hopefully he puts it together. That said, what has Donald Jones actually done for the team? I mean really, 23 catches out of a starting receiver in 7 games? That is a freaking joke. Miami was stupid for letting Welker go when he was starting to break out in their system. The Fish were epicly dumb for letting him go to New England*
  21. That is just it, there are responsible under 21's. Largely in part because of their upbringing. I used to ride around in my dad's car when he was smashed as a kid, and it scared the living **** out of me that I never have driven completely hammered, let alone over .08.
  22. On your long rant, a quick correction. The 200 was one of the longest standing records when Bolt broke it, but Rudisha broke Coe's 800 record the other day, and that stood for 30 years. I agree with the basis of your post, as a track coach and former D-III decathlete/hurdler/sprinter. Bolt's starts suck compared to guys that are still faster than Darrell Green or Rod Woodson two track stars amongst the fastest ever on the turf. However, his "slow" starts are still faster acceleration wise than 99.9% of NFL'ers with possible exception to CJ2k.
