  1. I agree with Jester there. I have lived and coached in the South and WNY. There are many things that seem a little off WRT to a 50+ million dollar stadium when a significantly cheaper one would have been feasible and sufficient. Furthermore, it is mentioned that they have resisted the urge to have more schools open. Think about this from the kids' standpoint. With 4400 in 10th-12 grade, that is triple what Niagara Falls or Lancaster have up here. How the heck can you have any involvement in the school if you are not the most talented of individuals? I was a D-3 decathlete that was a late bloomer that benefited from being a 3-sport athlete at a smaller high school, and I would have been cut on the spot with the standards that this school has to have for their athletes, let alone some insane standards are likely to be members of choir, bands, and clubs. You end up seeing people who are strictly one-dimensional quite frequently down there as opposed to your average kid being able to do a sport, a club, and a band. Nevermind that there are an overwhelming number of kids to try to fit into. I think such a school size is detrimental to the student. /rant
  2. What other expenses did you have? Car, house, kids, wife, student loans? Those do add up, and for some that means more than sacrificing livelihood to watch millionaires play a game.
  3. Still need one more stud LB, and maybe a safety if Byrd leaves. DL is set for this year, imo. If we are talking line, look at the other side of the ball, in particular LG.
  4. Guys, Jerry Sullivan is the Buffalo equivalent to Skip Worthless of ESPN. No consistency, maddeningly stupid opinions, and a douche who likes to walk in front of runners in the middle of a 15k race (I tried running that little weasel over before he moved). He is one reason I hardly frequent the Buffalo Snews website, thus he is costing them advertising online, plus my cancelled print subscription.
  5. This whole thread is lolbad. You are comparing a raw rookie who many thought was a reach and has battled injuries twice this season to the greatest QB in franchise history who was technically in his 3rd season as a pro and what should have been his 4th as a Bill. It is apples and oranges here.
  6. I don't know why you could be down on him as EJ has played pretty damn well the last two weeks. You can't blame him for the Atlanta loss. Anytime you put up 31 points, you deserve the W.
  7. Off the top of my head without googling Rodney Peete Andre Ware Erik Kramer Scott Mitchell (who was semi-stable there)
  8. Come on, I think we all would love to see Vinatieri and Vanderjagt take 20 paces and shoot each other
  9. Sage advice. Now the biggest ambiguity I argue is that if both parties are drunk, than why does the "rape" usually go one way and not the other?
  10. I agree with the sentiment. Legursky didn't lose to Brown out of camp, Legursky was hurt. As soon as he got healthy, Brown went to the streets. Rinehart should have been retained, imo, as he was a step above Brown to begin with and good depth on the line. Frankly, I would have rather kept Levitre and this problem would be solved. The FO needs to look into having a starter ready at LG and somebody to eventually take over at RT as Pears is on the wrong side of 30.
  11. As far as the comparisons to Cris Carter, Carter was drafted whereas DaRick wasn't. So that should say enough. That said, I hope DaRick has a John Parella-esque career where he turns it around after getting cut here. More likely, he will have an Aaron Maybin-esque career (minus the fat signing bonus)
  12. As a coach for other sports, a general principle that you learn is that you don't ask for bench players to make kill shots unless they have proven capable of doing so, especially out of inexperienced players. To this point, Tuel hadn't shown exceptional skill with his arm. The smart bet would have been the conservative one.
  13. Hackett called a quick bubble screen play which is designed to be a 1 step and fire pass. That was an idiotic playcall, pure and simple. Come on Campy you are better than this. The 7 drops, the 2 picks and 1 fumble hurt, but that one pick was a 10-14 point play that a rollout or sneak or a dive would have be a wiser call. Besides those 7 drops move Tuel's stat line from 18-39 229 to 25-39 and closer to 300. I am not saying Tuel played great by any stretch but the receiving core let him down.
  14. Dude, Fred was stuffed twice. On 3rd down, Hackett called an bubble screen that even Peyton Manning would have had trouble completing. It was an epically bad play call against press coverage at the 1 with an UDFA rookie at control. A better playcall would have been a QB sneak, or even a roll-out play if you were bent on passing with Tuel's skill set. The play call was a 10-14 point boner for Hackett.
  15. Ha. Considering the vast majority of the income from the league is from the TV contracts. They could do this without eating at the consumer while restricting the astronomical rise in current player salaries as well. You hear stories of the old timers from the 60's and 70's who had to work in the offseason and can't get the NFL to cover a hip-replacement now as they are living off of the retirement money from their second jobs if they were lucky enough. The NFL owes it to their retirees. Good for Hamza for putting up an internet shitfit
  16. What does religion matter here? The fact of the matter is the NFL is a multi-billion dollar entity not paying for the medical bills of the players that have built the game into the success that it is today. What other multi-billion dollar entity does so little to take care of its retirees?
  17. In no particular order: LG RT (Pears is getting long in the tooth) RB (Freddy is getting up there as well) QB (until Tuel, EJ, Thad, Flynn, or someone else proves otherwise) Some better masseuses, strength coaches, and training staff to keep the players healthy (seems like a chronic issue regardless of who coaches at OBD) Strong-side end (Carrington is hurt again and Branch is not a long-term solution) A stud OLB to pair up with Kiko A #2 corner (McFumble is better served as a nickel from a psyche standpoint) Safety (Searcy is terrible, just saying) Punter (Moorman is old as well) I did not include TE as Chandler is productive, but would stand out more if we had better line play instead of him being forced to play in. The line play may be due in part to a lack of respect for our QB's. I didn't include WR as I think we are in decent shape here for the long term. I like what I have seen out of Goodwin and Woods.
  18. Davis yes. Lamonica was backup to Kemp and the Bills traded him to Oakland for Tom Flores
  19. To the OP, I feel like this is an old ICE style trolling going on here. If you are actually bringing a kid to the Ralph, club seats are a better idea than being in the lower bowl. Especially with unruly fans and weather in the 40's. You are better off with club seats due to a tamer crowd in that section and the ability to go inside and watch the games from a TV should the weather be too brutal.
  20. Man, RIP. I used to rip on Wade for being a son of a Bum, but I'll refrain for the time being out of compassion and respect.
  21. Are you kidding me? That is like telling a sharpshooter in a crisis situation to hit the upper body when a head shot is available. The coverage team has been poor all season and they should have gotten to the returner. It did look like the refs blew a nasty block in the back on the near side (camera view), but that is neither here nor there as the other 10 need to swarm to the ball.
