  1. Boyst, what is the hate for Vincent? Aside from breaking JP's leg, I thought he was a true professional in his tenure here.
  2. Yes, I am so jaded and beaten down for a variety of reasons. I must say that unitl a Lombardi Trophy sits in the offices of One Bills Drive, my enthusiasm will be curbed more than Larry David's.
  3. As one of TSW's resident statistical experts (my specialty for my masters was in statistics and probability), no stat is insignificant to a coach as they look to exploit any weakness that a team may have. Having conceded late yardage with a solid lead an opposing coach may believe that should his team be down to the Bills they can stick to the run longer in the game before becoming pass happy. The stats can be customizable and specific to the point of understanding where are the weakest spots in the defense to run at or how a team performs when throwing specific routes and distances. Statistics are everywhere and a blind man fails to recognize the relevance of every play. Furthermore, coaches have tendencies that are exploitable over time.
  4. http://www.youtube....h?v=_xDP59xFx6M Bob Costas to Al Michaels: "You're excited? Feel these nipples"
  5. http://giferator.eas...-dolphins-bills http://goo.gl/k2qgqY I was trying to attach the gif picture above, but scott has it where you may not do so
  6. That is weak. The video shows exactly what anyone thought had happened, and that video was in their possession April. They did not react this way when they first saw the video, they reacted that way when the public saw that video. FireChan is right here. Now the fact is that a big business that is accountable to sponsors, fans, and the US gubmint has to reflect the values that our society holds dear. Thus punishment according what our society holds dear is relevant as a failure to reflect said values in punishment will lead to increasing backlash.
  7. It's not like that we hate T&A, it is that said T&A doesn't add anything to the game. They weren't going into the stands to give you a lapdance, They weren't going topless for the pink ribbon game. Chances are slim that you were dating/married to one of them. If you were anything above the 15th row, you hardly noticed them to begin with. They weren't even the type of cheerleaders that do flip and break their necks when the guy cheerleader drops them. The drumline adds ambient noise that can be useful in game situations, that can be heard from any part of the stadium, and we'll get to watch them get frostbite in the lower bowl as they are drumming away in a blizzard.
  8. That is either because the fertility treatments either had a steroid in it or a masking agent in it. Little bit different than smoking pot, imo. Legal substance that is not a performance enhancer, should not be a cause of a player getting suspended. Actually, it does as well as alcohol. From the outside, a person will think that it is crazy that having beers on your porch or smoking a J is worthy of a longer suspension than beating a woman. Societal values dictate conduct policies. If the conduct policy or its enforcement is out of wack in comparison to society's expectations, than the league looks worse for this. If this was to continue, which I think it won't as Goodell will likely be fired, you could end up see a loss of sponsors after the backlash from this.
  9. You are missing the point, weed is legal in two states now, may actually help the players deal with the pain of the game, and is not a performance enhancer; beating your wife is legal only in third world hellholes and countries that operate under Sharia law. One should not be a suspendable offense period and the other is a crime everywhere in this country.
  10. first is a warning and put on the testing at any time plan. then 4 games, then a season.
  11. He is correct, a second pot test positive was 4 games and a third is worth a season. That is !@#$ed up when Rice's punishment was so much less for a more severe issue.
  12. I wouldn't call this liberal as much as the PC Nazis. As a liberal, I distance myself from this crap as Goodell should have suspended him 4-8 games initially. Not made any more press conferences about it, or let the Ravens make any press conferences either with Ray and Janay. The bigger issue all along was the lenient punishment when he is suspending pot heads and guys for drinking beer at home for longer. This inconsistency was mindnumbing and baffling, and it got brought to a bigger head when the video they already had was released to the public. The hasty response by the Ravens (who were sticking by him until this point) and double punishment by the league makes Goodell look like the ineffective leader that he is, and should not be getting paid more than Peyton Gump or any other player at this point.
  13. the defenseless player concept applies when the defender launches off the ground. That wasn't the case IIRC.
  14. The best I can do is "Whoa, we're halfway there, whoa Pegula came in her hair." her referring to JBJ time will pass, and we'll slowly learn to tolerate JBJ's suckitude, like we have in the past.
  15. I thought this thread was going about the quality of posting going down . Nonetheless, it would be nice to the post archived, but if it is too cost prohibitive, I'm sure most would understand. Edit: 6000th post...again woo hoo. Post count really is not a big deal for most except may be Tom, lol
  16. As much as he got picked on by Cutler, McKelvin did step up yesterday. He wasn't completely toasted at any point, he had a forced fumble and his deflection (should have been a pick) set up the game winning drive in OT. Now that I am done playing devil's advocate, I am going to go with Colton Schmidt as the POG as he flipped the field and left the Bears with poor field position frequently. If he keeps performing well, I suspect we may see this video more: http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=5dd_1347107772
  17. Brad Butler was a very solid lineman, who decided to walk away from the game very early. Ellison wasn't good as a starter but we have done far worse than him over the years.
  18. Artie Baby Boo Boo was weird, but he also whined a lot during the Super Bowl years. If you can't be pleasant when your team is consistently good, then you won't be on my dial.
  19. To be fair, Reed served the Bills for a long time, and Denney, Wire, and Bannan all had decent careers. Wire and Denney were key depth pieces and special-teamers as well. The 2000 draft didn't even produce that. Also the 2002 draft was full of busts at the top Harrington, Carr, and Sims.
  20. Loving the OP's handle as I interviewed Booker a couple years ago. He was an excellent person to chat with for an hour or so. That said, yes, the 2000 draft set the team backwards to a point that the team still hasn't recovered, unfortunately.
  21. Firing Wade Hiring Greggo Getting rid of Bledsoe and giving the job to JP without competition. Hiring Marv as GM Putting Trent back in after a concussion when he was not ready Sticking with Dick Jauron for so long Buffy getting caught on tape talking crap about Fitzy and being forced to release him as a result. Not paying a sniper to off Jerry Sullivan
