Taylor's ceiling is Jackson's floor.

I wouldn't mind Foles and then drafting Lamar Jackson at #22. The OC could get very creative in using Jackson while having him develop under Foles.

I think that Baker Mayfield would be the most likely. The only reason I'm saying this is not because of any lack of drive or effort, but more so that his personality seems the most volatile and he's made a few irrational decisions. Is it a flaw, or is it just immaturity?

I actually think signing McCarron would be the logical move. Probably would be the QB who would sign to the most friendly deal of the free agents. Something like 2yrs/ 36 mil (24mil guaranteed). This then also frees up the Bills to NOT pull a "Ricky Williams" draft pick giveaway to get the QB they've "falling in love" with. If the worst case scenario happens and no team wants to trade with the Bills for a "1st, 2nd and Glenn" and all the 5 QBs go in the top 15. That means there will be a LOT of defensive talent is around for the Bills like R. Smith and V. Vea. Not just those specific guys, but other guys just as talented will be there for their first two picks. The Bills would be able to build out a VERY solid roster and still draft a QB with upside in the 3rd or 4th round. It might seem like they lost out in the franchise QB contest, but look at a team like the Vikings who did the serious build and was able to have a dominant team with Case Keenum as their starting QB. That is a realistic plan B for success.

I said this in the trade topic, but I'll say it here. Foles went to Arizona, his wife is from Arizona, his family lives in Texas...all signs point to him wanted and being granted a trade to Arizona. IMO the Bills are going to trade up and draft a QB, and probably sign a FA like Mccarron as a bridge.

I think that Foles is going to be traded to Arizona. He went to college there, his wife his from there, he was just seen at and interviewed at an Arizona basketball game, his family is from nearby Texas. I think that Philly does him a solid and sends him to where he would likely want to go, and IMO that's probably Arizona.

Jackson looks like a MUCH better NFL "style" passer than Rudolph. It's crazy how opinions are so widely different here on these QBs. From the videos I've seen, Rudolph's passes seem to be the same high, slow, floating passes over and over again. On video, he looks like a 3rd-5th round QB. Jackson looks like he can sling the ball from many different angles, heights and speeds. Then add in that he'll be the most athletically gifted QB since Vick.

The Bills will probably be moving up to the Bears or 49ers spot (if they can) and will either give up both #1s or a #1, #2 and Glenn. That's how it seems to be shaking out since Miami will be in play.

I've been saying this for over a week. I think they take Mayfield or Jackson, whichever one's still there. Teams are moving on from long term players, and this trend will continue with the Dolphins at the QB position.

I think that the media and fans are going to be shocked at where and when Jackson gets selected. He's perfectly built for the modern "RPO" NFL style of play and I think he'll become an even better version of what we saw of DeSean Watson. I think his somewhat "street" look and demeanor is a certainly part of the reason that he's not being seriously considered as a top 4 prospect. The media and fans see this demeanor as lacking intelligence for the QB position. I don't see that. You just need football intelligence and the intangibles factor. He has those traits IMO. He also the ability to elude defenders at the NFL level that hasn't been seen since Vick. Elusiveness = HUGE plays in NFL games. With Jackson, his legs will more than make up for the 3-4 extra misfires on throws that the more accurate QBs can make. The final thing that Jackson has is his likeability, team mates will want to make plays for him. Dudes got it all IMO.

Nice to see someone break away from the echo chamber and give Jackson a more realistic and honest ranking. He's not making it to the BIlls picks. Miami, Arizona or the Chargers will draft him if given the chance.

I was on the Mahomes and Watson train last year, and I have a feeling that Jackson's going another good one. The draft season is about the media just looking for reasons not to like a QB and to pick them apart (Jackson's the only one getting picked apart it seems). I see more reasons not to like Darnold, Rosen, Mayfield and Allen than I do for Jackson who looks custom built for the modern "RPO" NFL.

After the combine, I get the distinct feeling that Lamar Jackson will be going much higher than #21. IMO this will be the shocker of the night. I could see the Bills moving up to get him too. I'm just not buying the national NFL media echo chamber of the pecking order of the QBs. I think that Jackson threw the ball well enough to settle any notion that he'd be any kind of a disaster passing the ball. The pundits picked him apart, but I saw real NFL throws with some zip on the ball. Then on top of that, you have the DeShean Watson elusiveness skills on steroids. Given a decent roster and a staff that will cater the offense to Jackson like the Texans did with Watson, I honestly do not see a better prospect than Lamar Jackson. Others throw the ball much better like Mayfield, but Jackson tops him with his crazy athletic elusive skills (rewatch the videos) and likability as a leader and the face of the franchise. I just think he will end up being better than Mayfield and all the others.

I'm thinking the plan is trade for Foles who'd be the 2018 starter, and draft Jackson who'd start the following year. Of course Jackson would also be involved in some creative situational packages this season.

I've always believed their fallback QB would be Baker Mayfield. IMO they will want to make a splash (especially if the Giants pick a QB), and Allen is too far away from being a starter.

I just get the feeling that Cousins will sign with the Vikings...Darnold, Rosen and Allen are gone by pick #6...leaving the Jets making a big splash and picking Mayfield. They need a QB, they want attention, they want to stick it to whoever the Giants picked as their QB over Mayfield. Not looking good for the Bills drafting their starting QB, so that may be why we're hearing some Foles trade rumors. Not necessarily a bad thing btw given how chaotic the QB evaluations and rankings have been.

Would you take Baker Mayfield off because of the police video arrest? Or Rosen because of his "!@#$ Trump" hat display? What about Rosen's medical history of concussions and his throwing shoulder? The combine is a glorified get to know you (and your medical records) interview. From what I've heard, teams don't put much stock in the drills other than the 40s for the WRs and DBs. I respect any player who's got a logical reason not to do certain drills. Darnold knows he's the top passer and the only way he could go is down at the combine, and Jackson basically told the NFL that he's not going to change positions by not doing the 40 and agility drills. I actually dig Jackson's refusal 100%. Everyone knows he would have destroyed the combine QB records, and he chose not to, to make a statement to the GMs. That's ballsy.

He was also two years older. Also, from what I've read here, Jackson had either the most or second most WR drops this past college season out of the top QBs in this draft. He's not as inaccurate as people are describing him to be. Is he Russell Wilson accurate? No, but even if he gets close to that kind of consistency, then he'll be a top 10 QB in the NFL. Does anyone doubt if Jackson did stay in school another year he'd be the first QB drafted next year and probably be within the top five picks? Draft him now and work him in slowly.

Bucky Brooks is ridiculous with this take. Jackson showed that he can make all of the throws and make it look effortless. He did show some inconsistencies with a few bad passes, but he proved he can make the throws the NFL is looking for in a franchise QB. He seems highly coachable and improved every year in college. Same thing can happen in the pros. Man do they love to pick these guys apart. LOL As for ragging on his inconsistent passing efforts, I just read or heard that Jackson (21) is two years younger than Russell Wilson (23) was when he was drafted, yet he's three inches taller, heavier, and had seven more combined TDs than Wilson did in his last year in college. Just imagine how much better (i.e. accurate, consistent) Jackson will be when he's 23 years old. These guys always overlook the obvious, every year, just like they did with DeSean Watson and Pat Mahomes. They are obsessed with drop back passers from an era that, like it or not, is going away in the NFL sooner than later. The college game refuses to use the pro method of developing QB of that mold. The Bills need to embrace the future and just draft Jackson.

Not just better than Rudolph. The more I watch all of these QBs, the more I think Jackson will be the best of the bunch. He does have NFL passing skills, he's extremely elusive, huge play making ability, very likable guy, he will have a ton of support, the Bills have staff from Carolina so they will know what to do with him to have him succeed. I think that draft season becomes like an echo chamber where everyone wants things to stay as they were, QBs should stay in the boxes/labels that they were deemed to always be as a QB. I heard some media guys saying that Jackson looked sketchy as a passer in the passing drills. I didn't see that. Yes there were a few misfires, but he showed me that he can make effortless NFL throws. Dude has an arm, and he's not afraid to use it as seen in college. There's something about each guy at the top of the QB rankings that just doesn't feel right. To me, Jackson just looks like he's going to be a star and everybody is missing it just like they did with Watson.

It's just not going to end up working in the locker room if a starting QB has a personality with traits like... Thinking he's better and smarter than everyone else. Having no filter (strong opinions inevitably would lead to the alienation of about half the players in the locker room). Being simply flat out spoiled. I'm not saying Rosen's any or all of the above, but that's the concern with that guy. I do think those are legitimate concerns that have to be looked at and researched. I'd much rather have a Lamar Jackson who may be a notch below but everyone loves, rather than a QB who is a notch above in talent but not very well liked by a significant amount of team mates.

I really have no doubts that Lamar Jackson would beat Tyrod Taylor out in camp. I think that soon after came began, it would become quickly evident that Jackson's athleticism would more than make up for his rookie mistakes. IMO, Taylor would then become the Jackson's sideline mentor. The lack of respect for Jackson as a QB prospect in the media is shocking to me. The situation in Buffalo would be perfect since they already have had the running style QB for a couple of years. The offense just needs to be redesigned specifically for the things that Jackson can do. I think the effect would be very similar to Watson's effect for the Texans. You just probably have to deal with the reality that Jackson will have a shorter career than a normal drop back passer. So they will need to have a viable replacement in place within three to five years.

I think the least talked about potential draft/QB storylines is that it's more probable than not that the Dolphins will have no hesitation in drafting a QB if one gets near them. I can totally see them taking Baker Mayfield once he gets past the last team which needs one (Broncos or Jets, whichever didn't sign Cousins). Tannenbaum is a risk taker and Gase probably wants to draft his own guy. Right now, I think Bills picking Jackson at #21is the most probable outcome. Which isn't a bad thing at all IMO.

It's actually a smart move if they do plan on drafting Lamar Jackson. Taylor's contract is off the books in 2019 and any decent FA QB signed this year will want more than a one year deal. That means they'll have a lot of draft picks (this year) and salary cap (next year) to support Jackson's chances of success.

Right now, I like Lamar Jackson to be the one picked at #21. The Bills already have the veteran QB here in Taylor on the last year of his deal (he can start till Jackson's ready), so there's no need to sign a McCarron or a Keenan which would put the team on the hook for MULTIPLE years. This would leave the Bills with a ton of cap room in 2019 (once Taylor's contract runs out), along with four high picks in this year's draft (#22, #53, #56 and #96), and the picks in the 2019 draft to really build a contending playoff team. I just think that Rosen and Jackson are the two QBs who will have the quickest and easiest paths to success as franchise QBs. However, gut feeling I think that Rosen would be miserable in Buffalo. They will not take a guy who they think does not want to come to Buffalo. IMO, that's probably the first hurdle of acquiring new players for the team.
