  1. I've become more and more convinced that Jackson's going to become a transformational QB in the NFL. He's going to be the best QB from this draft by far. I think he's going to be a faster, more elusive Randle Cunningham and Michael Vick. I have no doubts that he's very high on the Bills board and I think the Mayfield stuff is a smokescreen. What a crazy draft this is going to be, so many differing opinions and options and scenarios. I can't fault anyone for have the opposite opinions than mine, seems everyone has a different feeling of how it will all go down.
  2. With your concerns being said, I still feel 100% that Jackson's going to be a hundred times better than either Allen or Rudolph, and that he'll have a much longer career than Rosen.
  3. This is what happens when the draft season lasts way too long. The NFL pundits find someone to pick apart so it seems like they have tough standards, and Jackson is the guy they chose to pick apart. While Jackson may be a bit rough around the edges, when I watch him compete he has that "eye of the tiger". The dude looks like he's on a mission and no one is going to stop him. Even in his interviews you can see the competitor in him. The Bills should pick him and sit him for the season to develop him properly. He looks like he has all the skills, leadership and competitive drive to become a successful franchise QB.
  4. DeShaun Watson got a 20 on the test last year, lowest in his class. That test is meaningless when the pads are put on. I could care less what Jackson's wonderlic score is, seriously. He's a decent, hard working kid who's willing to learn and who's ultra competitive without being a first class jerk like a couple of these top QB prospects. Jackson's going to make a lot of NFL players drool on themselves when trying to lay a hand on him.
  5. I'm actually buying that Mayfield is the Bills guy after Darnold's off the board. The Bills are in a tough spot if that's the case and the Browns take Allen #1 overall...1. Browns/Allen, 2. Giants/Darnold, 3. Jets/Mayfield... Bills might throw a boatload off picks at the Giants if the Browns take Allen and end up getting Darnold.
  6. I think the Jets pick Mayfield. So unless the Bills move to pick #1 or #2 they won't get him.
  7. I'd compare him to DeShaun Watson. Watson has better throwing mechanics, but Jackson looks much faster and has better cutting ability. I have little doubts that Dabol would get Jackson very near Watson's playing level (before injury) by season's end. He would insert the same offense that the Texans used for Watson.
  8. I just got done watching Jackson's game vs Clemson in 2016 and in my opinion Tyrod Taylor is about 20% the player of Lamar Jackson. What I mean by that is that while they play the same type of "dual threat" style of QBing, Jackson looks like a Superman and Taylor looks like a plain ordinary person. People need to watch this stuff and stop with the comparisons of Taylor...
  9. Very interesting. Maybe getting the Bills fanbase ready so they're not completely blindsided as a result of an NFL media who've basically been acting as if he's an afterthought?
  10. I don't get paid, as a member of the "group think" NFL media, to basically ignore Jackson's franchise level NFL QB talent based on ignorant stereotypes which should have been squashed long ago. I believe that Chris Simms is the only member of the NFL media (that I know of) who has Jackson as the #1 QB prospect in this draft. Given Jacksons amazing accomplishments, and the clear faults in the other 4 QBs, this is downright shameful. Don't you think something's wrong with this picture? These people aren't doing it on purpose, they're just parrots who just say what the person next to them are saying. Which goes to falling back on comfortable stereotypes.
  11. He's Beane's man, I feel it in my bones.
  12. More serious media disrespect for Lamar Jackson. Shameful.
  13. There are two franchise QBs available in the first round of this draft and that's Darnold and Jackson. Rosen is another injury waiting to happen "Bradford", Allen screams big arm bust and Mayfield has impulse control issues (not unlike ODB) and is someone who's way too tightly wound to ever last as a long term franchise QB in the NFL. Lamar Jackson will be the steal of this draft. The NFL media has really done a very poor and frankly disrespectful job of painting him as just another "athletic, running" QB. But that will ultimately be to the Bills benefit, since they'll probably be in the vicinity to draft him, which is unlikely the case with Darnold.
  14. Switch Vita Vea with Roquan Smith for Oakland and that mock draft looks by far like the best I've seen. The only thing will be if the Bills like Allen or Jackson, which no one will know unless that decision actually plays out this way.
  15. Not a chance in you no where that Lamar Jackson gets past the Cardinals, Chargers, Bengals, Saints, Steelers or Jaguars. Totally out of the realm of possibility.
  16. I didn’t include his Taylor’s senior season because Jackson’s leaving early. Does it really matter? Don’t you think that Jackson would have had yet another season of stellar passing stats in his senior season? Jackson beat him by 49 TD passes! Taylor got drafted in the 6th round and Jackson’s going to be drafted in the 1st round. You yourself said that you would draft him in the 1st round. Jackson is Pepsi and Taylor is RC Cola. They’re just not comparable.
  17. Taylor thru JR year: 36 Games 20 TD / 15 INT 55 PCT 123 Rating Jackson thru JR year: 38 Games 69 TD / 27 INT 56 PCT 140 Rating There's no comparison of the two. One is (and has always been) a simple "play it safe" game manager…and one who is a franchise QB level play maker. Unlike Taylor, Jackson will have an actual long term NFL franchise QB career.
  18. I think they pick Rosen because he has the great "NFL ready" arm, and he has the strong personality and smarts to thrive in the NYC market. Allen is a project and they already tried that with Hackenberg, and they didn't trade up and give up three 2nd round picks for a 6" QB in Mayfield. Bills fans who are all in on Rosen probably should start getting to know Allen, Mayfield or Jackson a little bit better. I do think that Rosen will have a Bradford type of career because the Jets won't be able to protect him and keep him on the field after giving away so much.
  19. The Bills drafting Jackson at #12 or sooner is definitely a real possibility, for the simple fact that they passed on drafting either Watson or Mohomes last year. The franchise's decision to do that forces them into taking a QB one way or another. Because if they don't, they'll forever be questioned on what their thinking was not drafting Watson or Mahomes, and then not drafting one this year. They need a simple answer to the question of who their franchise QB is going to be. So their franchise QB will be either Allen, Mayfield, Rosen or Jackson.
  20. I've read and heard that they like Davis Webb a lot, and the only QB that they would deem worthy of drafting #2 is Darnold. So the Giants would have enough concerns about the other QBs (which there clearly are in Rosen, Allen and Mayfield) to move ahead with the QB they know already.
  21. Me too, I just don't see the Giants (with Darnold gone) or Browns passing on drafting either Chubb or Barkley, and it's obvious they'll both be in that situation. Browns: Darnold Giants: Barkley or Chubb Jets: Allen, Mayfield or Rosen Browns: Barkley or Chubb Broncos: ? Colts: ? Things seem to be shaking out ok for the Bills, as far as having options to get a QB goes.
  22. Give me Lamar Jackson at #12, redshirt him for 2018 (other than using him in special packages), let him develop properly. Then use all of the remaining picks (that weren't used in a huge trade up) to build the roster on both sides of the ball. IMO, Jackson will be the steal of this draft. I just can't buy into Allen, Rosen or Mayfield hype. They all seem to have one or more major flaws that will keep them from ever becoming a long term NFL franchise QB. Jackson has all the tools, he just needs a year to develop both physically and mentally to become the franchise QB of the Bills that we've all been waiting for.
  23. Rosen scares the heck out of me with his lack of elusiveness and concussion history. Either you’d need a great line in front of him or he would need to become like Brady or Manning with getting the ball out of his hands quickly (it's possible, but that's asking a lot). I just think that his career will either be a short one or be kind of like a Bradford type of career. This is why Lamar Jackson is a very good backstop option for the Bills. He does not have the passing skills of Rosen, but he has almost everything else and there are and were NFL QBs like Watson, Vick and Cunningham that serve as evidence and a blue print for having great success at the next level. Plus they have the perfect OC to make that plan work. Another plus, they get to keep #22, #53, #56, #65 and next years 1st rd pick. The last plus is he's not injury prone like Rosen seems to be.
  24. With Rudolph, I honestly don't see the reasons he's any better of an NFL QB than either McCarron or Peterman. With Jackson, you have a QB with (IMO) the floor of Tyrod Taylor, and the ceiling of Vick/Watson/Cunningham. Jackson's the clear choice for the Bills between those two QBs.
  25. You only do that if your team is built already. The Bills are just starting the rebuild. Go on fan speak and do a 3 round draft with all their picks. Then do one with only picking Josh Rosen and the #96 pick. Then ask yourself if you're ok with that trade, while also knowing you don't have the 2019 first round pick.
