  1. The Bills will finish the season with an 8-1 record (no doubt at least 7-2). This bye comes at the perfect time to reset this team's collective head straight and for everyone to get healthy again. I just don't buy into all of the doomed and negative stuff this time around. I see the first part of the season as them getting all of the bad stuff out of their system before they hit their stride and become the playoff bound team we all thought they were going to be. They won that Jags game and the refs screwed them out of it. I'm already done hearing about how much EJ sucks or how bad Rex is or Whaley or the defense. They won that game. They will have two whole weeks to stew over it and take out their anger on their division opponents coming up on the schedule. This team showed me they have fight in them.
  2. If EJ could ever get out of his own head he would stand a very good chance of becoming a sold starter one day. It's one of the reasons one could point to as to why he's had success in two minute situations where you are just reacting and not thinking.
  3. I think that EJ Manuel is still in that young QB who's still learning phase. The guy works hard as heck, has some aspects to his game that are positive and his inaccuracy issues could be worked around. I'm good with Taylor as our starter and a still developing EJ. Many fans have totally wrote EJ off, but I still think there is the chance he could become a top 15 starter down the road in the NFL. Especially when these old QBs start leaving the stage.
  4. Tyrod is the undisputed starter, but if EJ scores 3-4 TDs and looks comfortable doing it then Taylor will have pressure to keep playing well. Nothing deep, it just "is what it is" as they say. I'm actually cool with having Taylor as starter and EJ as the backup for the long term. I think we might be good at QB for the next four or five years.
  5. It's not "cute", it's the right thing to do. I think that Manuel will have a huge day because Roman will want to get EJ and that passing game going at full speed knowing 100% the Jaguars will be stacking the box. McCoy is still nursing an injury and EJ, Woods, Hogan, Gragg, Clay should be plenty enough to throw a lot of points on the board against this team and having short fields due to the defenses going nuts and getting about 4 or 5 turnovers which is what I'm expecting. Way too much hand wringing over this game and EJ in particular (am I the only one who thinks this?). I think EJ will play so well it will put some pressure on Taylor's starting performances going forward.
  6. EJ has nothing to be embarrassed about considering that Taylor has shown to be a capable starting NFL so far. Maybe the Bills have two good starting QBs and there will be a controversy after Sunday's game. Wouldn't that be a real hoot here! LOL While I still think there's a chance EJ is a better QB than Taylor I'm very comforted by Taylor's play so far. In my mind the Bills are already in a "win win" situation, if EJ stinks then they still have their QB of the future in Taylor, if EJ plays great then they will have an extended period of time to evaluate who the QB of the future will eventually be and who will be traded for a high draft pick.
  7. I know that you thought very highly of Marrone, but the time is quickly approaching when EJ gets his second act under Rex and show that maybe Marrone was the one who was holding him back.
  8. What I meant by that is that he was considered a three year project and this is year three.
  9. For me, an extremely intriguing aspect to this latest turn of events in the EJ Manuel "saga" is that this is the first time we will all see a fully developed (i.e. 3 years) EJ Manuel in a real NFL game where he's playing with real professional coaching. I’ve been a Manuel supporter since he was drafted and since Taylor is now very doubtful due to injury, I find myself wondering “what if…” because he showed explosive arm talent in those preseason games. A lot of drama has been added to this game for those who had supported Manuel during all of the haters' rants and raves over how horrible he is. Seems we will all get a good read on a final answer this Sunday.
  10. It's sad and pathetic to see a professional writer getting paid to pine away for a washed-up, never been, loser QB like Cassel. Buffalo deserves much better. The topper of his article was Gleason's criticisms of Doug Whaley, the man who is in the process of turning this completely lost franchise around from a 20 year tailspin. Someone needs to tell Bucky that GMs have this little thing called a salary cap and that means you can't keep everybody you want and tough decisions need to be made when you have the talent on the roster that the Bills do. I am going to greatly enjoy all of the crow that is going to be eaten by loser types like Gleason this Sunday when EJ Manuel shuts up the haters and doubters.
  11. told Giants that Bills would beat themselves with penalties... http://www.syracuse.com/buffalo-bills/index.ssf/2015/10/tom_coughlin_reportedly_told_giants_players_buffalo_bills_would_beat_themselves.html ...and the Bills have a coach who looks like a fool patting guys on the back for hurting their chances of winning 17 times over. How long before the Pegulas start looking for a replacement for Rex? With this roster it shouldn't be hard to find a guy who respects the owners', players' and fans' intellects by not rewarding bad behavior on the field that will never win you games or a championship.
  12. I don't think anyone's advocating for a switch at QB. If it's midseason and Taylor's simply not able to have that consistent success after the "blueprint" to beat him was made by the Pats and Giants in the coming games and also if Manuel is looking great in practice then and only then does a switch become a real option. I do think Taylor has shown too much not to give him at least 8 games now. However, I would hope that Rex isn't stubborn enough to stay with Taylor if he looks to have lost the early season "magic" for a long stretch of games. Let's hope it doesn't come to that. I like Taylor, I just want him to do what he does best. I really do think he can be a franchise QB like Wilson.
  13. Tyrod needs to decide if he truly believes in himself the next few games. What I mean by that is that he already knows that teams are going to try to keep him in the pocket and force him to beat them with his arm within that pocket. It's worked for opposing defenses two out of the first four games. So Tyrod needs to decide that he's not going to let the defense dictate to him, that he will use his talents of being elusive to break contain and he will make his "money" plays passing and running outside of the tackles. This is what Russell Wilson did. If Tyrod continues to let defenses crowd the line, block his view and keep him in the pocket then the Bills will not even get to 9-7 IMO. Taylor is just not a traditional pocket passer and it's becoming clear that he can't see the field very well when there are a bunch of bodies crowded in front of him. Taylor may love watching Aaron Rogers and his playing style, but he needs to watch and mimic Russell Wilson's playing style more. IMO the blame for this loss was on equal parts coaching, defense, O line and QB. I'm still rooting for Tyrod to get it together and solidify the position even though I was an EJ supporter. I think he can do it given his production and glowing stats, but he needs to stop wasting first halves of games trying to be somebody he's not.
  14. I like Taylor. In the review thread I only said that I thought he got hot because it was garbage time. But at least he took advantage of the Pats backing off on the pressure in the 4th quarter. That quarter was a big plus for him. I would like to see the Bills really open up Roman's playbook and start calling the "big chunk" roll out downfield throws and also the read option misdirection plays. They aren't doing Taylor any favors with a conservative offense that keeps 8 in the box and Taylor hemmed in in the pocket with no where to go. They need to get the defense to back off and respect his arm. They need to do it this week IMO.
  15. I was saying that I wanted the Bills to let Taylor throw the ball around and you get angry at me thinking I was talking about them benching him for EJ? Yes, I think that over time, EJ will prove to be a better QB than Taylor, but I want Taylor to prove me wrong since he's the starting QB. Why is that something to get so crazed about? EJ becoming the #2 QB has got you that rattled?
  16. I was talking about them letting Taylor throw the ball down the field like they did in the 4th quarter of the last game. I think you might have had too much caffeine this morning.
  17. The Pats gave Miami the blue print. It's up to Rex to flip the script and attack the QB on defense and come out passing down field to get Miami out of the 8 in a box mode. If they go "ground and pound" they will lose this game.
  18. Jerry Sullivan on the case reminds me of this guy...
  19. They probably caved to Cassel's #2 QB demands because Taylor had never started a real NFL game before and there was a nagging fear that Taylor might be a disaster when they play for real. It was the fear of the unknown IMO. Rex just couldn't be honest about it in the press conference for obvious reasons. He should have just said that it was a coaches decision and that he was not going to elaborate on it. Then just keep repeating that until Sullivan gives up. It's clear that they have no more fear about Taylor or Manuel and having two young but seasoned QBs that are getting better is a very good thing.
  20. Not if they want to make the playoffs! You do what you said with game managers types like Cassel, not the guy you've tabbed as your "hopefully" next great franchise QB in Tyrod Taylor. I think there's confusion as to what the expectations are with Tyrod Taylor. He is supposed to become our franchise QB and part of that job is beating teams with your arm. Not being a game manager. If Taylor is a game manager then please bring back EJ Manuel who looked and played like a franchise QB in preseason.
  21. I told you it was the same concept as the other team not playing as hard as they were. Not sure what you don't understand here. To me, "garbage time" is a blow out score (i.e. 3TDs) late 3rd quarter and beyond.
  22. More that the Houston team stopped playing as hard and less "garbage time". Same concept though. Once momentum swings hard in football it's definitely hard for the other team to stop. You can tell that to teams until your blue in the face and teams will still let off the gas petal. It's human nature.
  23. Rex looks like a total buffoon after that game and the Jets not only look better but look like a classy organization now. Less talking and more coaching and game planning please.
  24. Can we have some honesty around here or are we now supposed to just shut up and pretend the Pats game was a lot closer than it looked because the scoreboard tells us it was? Am I the only one here who thinks those were garbage time points? This is ridiculous. A lot of the time NFL teams with big leads do stop playing as hard as they were when they were beating the pulp out of you earlier in the game. If that wasn't true then the Bills would have never had the greatest comeback playoff game. Half is the team on top might become bored and the other half is the team that's down doesn't quit and gets hot. I would think that Bills fans would know this.
