Real late with my observations but got to post
1billsfan replied to Billsfan1972's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Rex needs to be fired if he continues to not include Watkins in the plans. It's not even on Roman, Rex is the head coach and he should be seething mad at Roman for the negligence at this point. Throw the ball early and often to Watkins, get a 14-0 lead, take the crowd out of the game and watch the Chiefs fold like a cheap tent. If they employ a conservative game plan then there's a 100% chance they will lose this game IMO. -

IMO if Watkins doesn't start getting the ball a lot, he will publicly ask to be traded after the season is over. The Bills are not only being stupid not using him, they are costing him money when he becomes a free agent which is the reason he will go public and force them to trade him. I wouldn't blame him either. The Bills are idiots with how they've ignored Watkins in game plans. -
This game is the final pass/fail test of what kind of team the Bills truly have...a contender or a pretender. Both the Bills coaching staff and players know that if they lose this game their wildcard playoff hopes are sunk because the Chiefs have an easy schedule and the Steelers aren't going to tank either. A lot is on the line for the credibility of Rex, Roman and Taylor in particular. Get the ball to Sammy Watkins or find a new job. You're going against a team that shuns the WR position and it's the perfect big game stage to show them that the blockbuster trade for Watkins was the difference between the Bills going to the playoffs and the Chiefs staying home.

Smart vs Dumb game plan against the Pats
1billsfan replied to 1billsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
One catch for 87 yards by Sammy would have won the game for the Bills or at least tied it. If you're an NFL coach and you are afraid to attack an NFL defense with Sammy Watkins then you need to quit your job. -
I hate to admit it, but Taylor sucks
1billsfan replied to Doug Flutie Band's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I like Taylor, but two things that are becoming glaring are...#1 he looks to be one of those fragile type of players who will get injured a lot playing with the big boys and...#2 he looks like Russell Wilson without the lightening quick decision-making skills which makes his ceiling somewhere around average starter to high quality backup. Here's to hoping he gets a lot better. It looks like the Bills are back in the QB market for the draft or free agency. At least they aren't locked into a bad contract with an average QB like the Dolphins are. -
Smart vs Dumb game plan against the Pats

That’s what happens when you nibble around the edges and pretend you have a chance to grind out a win against the Patriots. Ryan said that they were going to attack and dictate pay on defense this time around. Why did he do the exact opposite on offense? They didn't attack at all. They played please don’t turn it over, small ball. This is why Rex Ryan sucks as a head coach. He doesn't understand that the attack mentality that he likes on defense is the same mentality you have to have on offense especially when you are playing on the road. Do the Steelers not throw the ball to Brown because he’s constantly double covered? How about Atlanta and Jones? Rex deserves that loss. Don’t even put the blame on Roman. The Bills should just trade Sammy Watkins because they are much too afraid to throw him the ball. It’s embarrassing how big of cowards they look like not throwing him the ball. -

The Bills are lucky that they are versatile on both offense and defense. If this team wants to go to the next level then they need to do what the Pats do and change their game plans from week to week giving them the best chance top win that particular game. The Bills have the QB and WRs to play the deep ball game. It’s the biggest weakness of the Patriots defense. Yes the Bills are #2 in rushing, but IO don’t see a rushing/long drives attack being a winning formula against this particular game. We know that the refs will be ready to screw the Bills at any time during 10 play drives or the Bills players may actually hold during the drive and get caught. We know that the Bills really need to almost have a two score lead with 5 minutes left to ward off any refs screwing them over scenario. We also know that TDs are scored by your WRs and TEs, they need TDs not FGs in this game. An added benefit of not rushing McCoy much is that he’ll be fresh for the two next games that matter if the Bills want to get into the playoffs which are the Chiefs and Texans games. -
Smart vs Dumb game plan against the Pats
1billsfan replied to 1billsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agreed. This is why the Giants have been so successful against them and why they're the only team in the NFL the Pats fear. The Giants always have attacked them with deep passes and in rushing the QB. Playing the grind it out running game against the Pats is only going to lead to questionable flags at the worst time in long drives with the Bills scoring FGs not TDs. -

IMO, favoring a short pass/high completion percentage with less big plays over deep pass/low completion percentage with more big plays is a losing formula in this specific game. You can do that in other games against other teams, but with the Patriots you need to attempt to take them out using the “big play” game plan especially when you have a guy like Sammy Watkins playing on your side. Nibbling around the edges against this team only going to result in an unhappy ending. -

Winning or losing are not game plans they are results. This game is a test to see if Rex and Roman have the courage to do what gives them the best chance to win the game against the ultimate foe which is the best team in their division and in the NFL. They won't have another shot at them unless they see them again in the playoffs or next year. I think we all know what will happen if their plan is to have long sustained drives ending in touchdowns. The Bills will be pinning their hopes on the refs calling a fair game. Good luck with that. -
The smart game plan for winning this game is to throw the ball deep to our WRs and TEs. - Giants had 15 yards per catch last week exposing a huge hole in the Pats defense, they had ODB we have Watkins. - The Bills doing this and potentially taking a two TD or more lead exposes Brady to their rushers who will know that they are in pass mode every down. The dumb game plan is to run the ball a lot, planning on long drives that eat up time and keep Brady on the sideline. - Long drives will expose the Bills to more BS penalties by the refs who we all know are in the bag to extend the Pats unbeaten streak. - Belichick wants the Bills to run the ball a lot because he knows that either Brady or the refs will bail them out in the fourth quarter in an expected tight game. Will Rex and Roman be smart or dumb? Do they want to go with the best game plan to actually win the game or will they do what Belichich thinks and hopes they do and run the ball hanging their hopes on beating Brady or the refs in a tight game in the fourth quarter. I know this goes against conventional wisdom, but it's the only way they win this game IMO.

Colorblind fans watching had no idea what was going on...
1billsfan replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm colorblind and that representation was very close to what I was seeing. The close up shots you could tell the difference between the red and green, but on the wide shots of the actual play I was lost on who was who after the ball was snapped. I wasn't mad, I actually thought it was funny and I knew there was going to be many stories on this after the game. -
I Can't Picture Buffalo Winning... or Losing
1billsfan replied to BuffaloBaumer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not only that, I just heard today that Rex coached teams are 2-18 after his last 20 wins. Luckily this isn't any nameless NFL team, it's the Jets. He wants this one badly. -
This game is different IMO. A lot of the Jets players are playing against their old coach. Fitz is going to be playing the team that basically dumped him. While Rex got fired, he isn't going to be playing on the field. What has happened in the games for both teams leading up to this have no bearing on the intensity that I think will be displayed tonight. I just hope the Bills bring the passion that I think the Jets will be bringing.
-
I expect to see "crazy man" Fitzpatrick tonight whipping up his team and the crowd into a frenzy. I'm really hoping that the Bills will be as fired up as the Jets and that stadium will be. Intensity in big games is something that's been lacking since the glory days. This is not just a normal regular season game. For all intents and purposes, this is a playoff game to put yourself in solid contention for a wildcard spot in the playoffs and will be won by the team that wants it the most. Better bring the passion and emotion Bills or you are going to lose this game.
-
I'm talking about the kind of games that start to put you on the NFL map nationally. These next two games can do that if he comes through in a big way. We have all been waiting for that turning point where Bills nation can finally say we found our QB for the long haul. It's fun to think about that possibility heading into these games.
-
Tyrod needs a couple of "signature" wins with him being the main reason they won they game. A Thursday night national game on the road vs the Jets and a game on the road vs a (probable) undefeated Patriots team are two games that are set up for those type of memorable "signature" wins. You take the wins in any way they come, but in the back of your mind you kind of hope that Taylor will be the reason the Bills won them. Even though I was a big EJ supporter, I always liked Taylor and thought he also had a chance to become a franchise QB. Taylor's won me over and here's hoping he can pull the divisional hat-trick setting them up for the #5 wildcard slot in the playoffs. The Bills are getting healthy and finding their groove.

Week 9: Dolphins' Game Preparation - Sammy Active
1billsfan replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ajayi is one of those no-name rookies that I could see light up a so far lackluster and overrated Bills defense. The season is on the line and I really hope that the Bills will play smart and tough with the stakes so high. -
Week 9 predictions: Dolphins at Bills
1billsfan replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm just not a fan of prediction threads on Bills games, especially ones where they are favored to win. A dedicated thread of a majority of Bills fans predicting they will win seems to run counter to the whole "not wanting to jinx the team" code. Yes it's silly, but I always get a bad karma feeling when I see these threads dedicated to predicting the outcome. -
What song best describes the Bills at Mid-Season?

Not about the team, more about the apoplectic reaction of Bills fans and media following the loss to the Jaguars in London… -
Realistically, how does this all play out?
1billsfan replied to Bills Fan in MD's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You seriously sound like this guy... -
The "bottom line" is that the Bills are 10th in QB rating in the NFL.

I'm floored at the negativity and doom and gloom in these threads. The Bills are 3-4 and have two weeks to heal up and start kicking butt. IMO the Bills will be making the playoffs this year. The Jets and Steelers both have brutal schedules where the Bills ends much easier. For instance... The Jets finish the season against the @Giants, Titans, @Cowboys, Patriots and @Bills The Steelers finish @Seahawks, Colts, @Bengals, Broncos, @Ravens and @Browns The Bills finish @Chiefs, Texans, @Eagles, @Redskins, Cowboys and Jets Why are fans panicking so much around here?LOL -
What the Models Predict for the Rest of the Season
1billsfan replied to CodeMonkey's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think the Jags game will turn out to be the turning point game that forces the whole team to come together, get healthy and become the team we all thought they were.
