  1. Did you see that picture of a covered child’s body with a doll next to it? Ever think that there might have been a good reason why he didn’t make his VP pick tweet this morning with all the “cool” social media, marketing 101 bells and whistles?
  2. Trump not being bought out (corporation donation money) to the tune of 100 of millions of dollars makes him a stronger candidate actually. You guys can laugh all you want, but it seems like he's almost always at least 5 steps ahead of everyone. He’s on national TV 10 times a day. His twitter feed must be the most popular or close to it. Corny political ads placed during expensive ad buy commercial breaks of popular shows have less and less impact and are quickly becoming a total waste of money in the modern world. While everyone's pointing fingers and yucking it up, Trump is rewriting the rules. Seems to me that he’s setting up the pins yet again for the general election. Hillary will get nothing but serious grief for the donation money which Trump will no doubt highlight during the debates. Those kind of game changer moments can't be bought even for a billion dollars. I'm sure he'll spend his own money if he has to in the swing states. It will be a fraction of what Hillary spends but probably with at least the same amount of impact. The more the media goes crazy, the more it smells like fear that they're starting to think he's going to actually beat Hillary.
  3. Just did a google search on RCP averages polls for both "Trump vs Clinton" and "Cruz vs Clinton" in FL, OH and PA…and Trump beat Cruz out by three points or more in every RCP averages poll. Your assertion that Trump was the absolutely one person who will lose to Hillary is a myth. Will he lose to her? Probably, but he was and remains the by far best candidate to beat her. Trump and Clinton are pretty much tied in the swing states and this is before the debates and before Trump’s daily social media tear downs of the Clintons/Obama. The MSM no longer has that monopoly on messaging to the masses any longer. So if Clinton does lose to Trump, she can blame Al Gore for inventing the internet.
  4. Like politics, “the media” is changing rapidly. Trumps presidential campaign has driven that change into hyperspeed. Thanks to Trump, “the media” has lost serious control and influence. They’ve thrown everything at Trump and it doesn’t stick because Trump constantly does or says something that they’ll be forced to cover the very next day or risk looking like they’re a day late and a dollar short. Many old war horse pundits are just completely dumbfounded at Trumps rise and success in the presidential election. They simply don’t understand that Americans 55 years old and younger have been programmed for the fast paced, no nonsense, don’t bore me presidential candidate that is Trump. It’s funny now that Scott Walker was the first guy to drop out of the race. Walker was the “cookie cutter”, bore you to tears presidential candidate which has become a dinosaur in this modern age of 24/7 social media.
  5. Is this the same media that was laughing at Trump's presidential candidacy and his prospects for winning the nomination?
  6. ...and a team with a seasoned starting QB like Taylor can be in title contention for years.
  7. Looking at the list, the NFL's greatest QB era ever is drawing to a close. Lot's of "getting old fast" guys at the top of the list. The NFL championship will soon become much more attainable to a much wider range of teams including the Bills with Taylor as their QB.
  8. The right or wrong choice was between Trump or Cruz. It wasn't Trump vs "the unknown totally awesome candidate". While Trump may still be a long shot, he at least has a long shot chance unlike Cruz who would have been demolished in the general.
  9. It will be very interesting to see how Trump does in the general. Because he was basically the media's writer, producer and director of the GOP primary season. The media can't help themselves but to cover everything he says or tweets. Total opposite of how they covered Romney and McCain, which was like wallpaper.
  10. I think many people just aren't getting what’s happening. They are stuck in the structures of the old political systems and campaigns. This is truly the first modern 21st century presidential election. The norms of the past are out the door big time. Words like “conservative” and “liberal” have become antiques in modern US politics. IMO there’s no longer such a thing as a “conservative” or a “liberal” politician because they're all owned by people and corporations who don’t really care about principles. Trump has pulled the curtain up on “The Great Oz” of the DC elites to show they are nothing but weak empty suits desperately pulling levers to stay in power. He did this by using the power of his celebrity status, the power of the media and the power of instant messaging to the masses via twitter. Most voters today care about one thing. Are you going to go to Washington and have MY back or have someone else’s back. Trump has hammered home the message that he will have the voter’s back. It’s perfectly understandable for people to laugh and make fun about how serious he's being. But he’s never held an office. He's from outside the DC club. He has that clean slate the others don’t. I used to be caught up in all the political debate, but I found that I’m happier if I refrain from all of the animosity that these discussions tend to bring out. No matter who wins the presidency, that person will be neither a hero nor a villain. They are almost always somewhere in between.
  11. IMO Gilmore is as good as gone after this year and the Bills will use their 2017 1st round pick on his replacement. It's simple math that they can not pay Taylor AND Glenn AND Gilmore...ect That's just they way of the modern NFL. You will eventually be faced with having to let good players go when they reach the end of their rookie deal and use the draft for their replacement. The bright side is that the Bills now have a core group of young leaders in Watkins, Taylor, Ragland and Lawson. IMO these are the guys that will drag this team over the hump and back to the Superbowl once again.
  12. The NFL may WANT to trend toward the pass game, however the majority of the NFL QBs worth anything are nearing 40 years old. I simply don’t see the top QB talent being replenished. The running game is going to make a comeback when these young QBs start proving they can’t play like Brady, Manning, Brees…ect.
  13. Bills getting Ragland at #41 and Lawson at #19, this is insane. With these two players coming in, Bills' opponents offenses are basically screwed whether they're good at passing or running the ball. I wanted Ragland at #19 and I can't believe they now have both Lawson and Ragland. Whaley is having a supremely solid draft and it's only round two!!
  14. What doesn't make sense about that is that by showing interest in Lynch they would be blowing any chance for a trade back for extra picks with the Denver Broncos. Because the Broncos would do a deal with the Colts (or whoever in front of the Bills) instead.
  15. Did you read the articles? Not trying to be combative, but your opinion doesn't really match up with what being said in those articles.
  16. These stories on Ragland make the "he's too unathletic" label seem like a full blown myth which clearly only got bigger over time through the pre-draft echo chamber... https://www.seccountry.com/alabama/2016-senior-bowl-alabama-lb-reggie-ragland-blows-by-competition-in-first-practice http://collegespun.com/national/former-alabama-lb-reggie-ragland-showing-out-at-senior-bowl-practices http://espn.go.com/blog/new-orleans-saints/post/_/id/20639/alabamas-reggie-ragland-jarran-reed-flaunt-versatility-at-senior-bowl http://espn.go.com/nfl/draft2016/insider/story/_/id/14661967/alabama-lb-reggie-ragland-stands-mobile-nfl-draft My favorite line... "Overheard behind me: "Ragland looks like a grown-ass man playing against 3-year olds out here." #Alabama #SeniorBowl" IMO from watching Ragland's highlight videos, he plays like he's a heat seeking missile. I hope that fans here don't get overly upset if he's the pick. I get the feeling that over the months after the college season ends, there's just so much talk and picking apart of some of these guys that it sometimes leads to warped opinions of a player's abilities like Ragland.
  17. I think a lot of people are on board with the trade down scenario. Since the Bills are one spot ahead of the Jets, they and the Colts are in the prime spots for that trade. However, the Colts have the pressure of having to draft a real solid player (the Bills have a decent roster already) and the chances get much lower where the Broncos pick. I think a trade with Denver is 50-50 right now.
  18. Got to say, I'm surprised this thread has latest as long as it has. While I still want them to draft Ragland, I am not obsessed with them picking him. If there's a sack artist like Lawson there, an OT with a much higher draft grade, if they think a Josh Doctson is the piece that will break the offense's low point scoring logjam, a run stuffing DT....I'm actually good with it. If they do take Ragland, then fans take some comfort that the Bills coaches feel strongly he can and will be used as a three down player. Having a guy that smart and tough leading your team on defense game in, game out is a safe and solid bet at #19. I don't remember the last time I was so excited about a draft because I think it will be real hard for the Bills to screw this pick up with so many quality players that will be available where they are picking.
  19. I just can't see Lynch making it past the 49ers, Browns or Bears. One of them may trade back before the Bills pick to make it more palatable, but these teams are desperate for a QB and they know he won't be around in rd 2. Reality is like ice cold water to the face for these kind of teams. Yes they want a great 1st rd value pick, but they also don't want to be the one without a chair in the QB musical chairs game. IMO, someone will either trade back or trade up before the Bills pick and pick Lynch there.
  20. No chance Lynch makes it to Denver now. These teams need a QB (some right now, some need to prepare for the future)...49ers, Browns, Bears, Jets, Cardinals, Broncos If Lynch falls to Bills right before the Jets (and Cardinals) pick then the Bills will have a great shot to trade back. Either the Jets or the Cardinals will draft Lynch.
  21. Spence seems like a head case. IMO watching his interviews, there's something just not right about that guy. Add in the NFL fame, fortune and party lifestyle and it's not a good bet to use a #19 pick on him. In today's NFL you just can't blow your 1st round pick on risky guys. Other than Sapp, it almost always never works out well.
  22. Unfortunately I have a sneaking feeling that the Raiders are going to draft him ahead of the Bills. If that does happen then I hope Decker is still there at #19. The Bills OL would look pretty sweet if they got him. I think the Bills will go DL in the second round.
  23. Nice to see guys coming around to Ragland. If you look at the Bills schedule, the Bills will need to have a very stout run defense within the first six games... Ravens, Jets, Patriots (Brady is going to be suspended first four games IMO), Rams and 49ers will all rely heavily on their running games. Then you take into account games at the end of the season when the bad whether sometimes dictates stopping the heavily loaded running game. If his one trick is shutting down the other team's running game then that's a great trick worthy of the #19 pick when you see who's there behind our defensive line. Even if the Ragland is only a two down player, those two downs are very important downs. On top of his solid credentials at stopping the run, he was a huge team leader at Alabama which this team is desperate for that kind of leadership. I'm good (yet not greatly enthused) with picking Ragland at #19 even if he's only ever a two down MLB. The "what if" is if he can become a solid enough cover guy to play all three downs then you have a steal of a player at #19. I hope the Bills go for the solid can't miss guy and pick either Ragland or Decker. If both are gone then simply go for the best D lineman of the group that's there at #19.
  24. I fear Lee is one of those tease type of players who won't be anything special in the NFL. The Bills would be better off drafting either LB Ragland or OT Decker. Two guys you know will have solid pro careers with no chance of an Aaron Maybin bust mistake that Lee has the potential of being.
  25. The Bills are crazy thin at receiver and add to that Woods is a free agent next year. Who is the Bills #3 slot receiver today? What happens if Watkins or Woods goes down with an injury? As much as you want a great defense, you have to find a starting quality #3 receiver in this draft. They almost have to pick that guy by the third round.
