Like I can’t believe this even needs to be stated. McDermott is a dime a dozen nfl head coach. But much like Dick Jauron, he would be best if was the head coach of a team with a franchise qb. He would be fine in that role. but to give a guy with his idea of nfl football complete power over this franchise is kinda insane.

Honest question: how many coaches would last hiring 3 OCs in 3 years because they are so bad?

Don’t we averaged more yards per game with Anderson? I get wanting Allen to be good but minus a half against Minnesota, he was as bad or worse as the other guys.

If they were having a great season, would he have done the same thing? Honest question. I know it’s a little extreme to say it erases everything but he one lesson my coaches taught me is not to ever quit. How would we feel about a player doing this? it makes for an interesting discussion though.

Yeah, no other QBs could have won that Titans game. Played well in Minny but it was worse than EJ most games. It was like when JP first started. as crappy as Anderson is, the passing attack was somewhat nfl level like.

I saw that story. It sounds like he is a great coach but what an awful way to end your career. It kinda erases everything. He quit on his team.

I mean I liked Rosen. I thought Darnold was completely overhyped. Was very mixed on Baker and thought Allen was trash. Hope I’m wrong though. Mitch was also a much better player in a much better college conference. And a lot Bears fans are still unsure about him.

Hopefully they will be!!! And I hate giving up on qbs too early. But with the rules in the nfl now and how similar nfl/ college offenses are, it has never been easier to be a nfl QB. So you should see signs much earlier than the Kelly days.

Hot take: what if this is just a garbage class of qbs? Remember all the experts said how bad the 2017 QBs class was? Would you take any QBs of this year’s class over the top 3 from that class?

Kelly played in the SEC and not northern Iowa. Would if his name wasn’t Kelly? We fall in love with college qbs every year who aren’t good - Mettenberger, Mallett, Cook. with how starved the nfl is for qbs, you don’t fall that much in the draft if they think you can be a player. That offense is very gimmicky and qb friendly. It’s why Mahomes got knocked because a lot guys put up numbers in that type of offense.

A new brain would be a good start. i have plenty of Swag Kelly stories that never made the news. That said, as overrated as he is here and being a giant moron, id take him over other options.
