  1. I mean it get it and it’s part of being a fan. But it’s kinda insane. Allen averages 141 yards passing/ game. I thought the Darnold hype was out of control and he has a major issue with turnovers. That said, he is asked to do much more than Allen. SD averages 10 more passing attempts per game. I would still take SD over Allen but he hasn’t exactly wowed me either. Honestly, besides Mayfield, it seems like this class was completely overhyped. That said, it is still so early and these guys all went to pretty bad teams (though we did make the playoffs). No one likes it but Allen is a lot closer to Lamar as a passer than Newton or Big Ben.
  2. I can’t believe how simple you guys make football. You need threats on your roster. Watkins opened up things for other guys. It’s why the Rams tried to get another speed guy instead of just going with Kupp and Woods. It’s why the Chiefs signed Sammy.
  3. But you’re also forgetting about the huge offensive coaching upgrade they got. That is a huge reason for their rise. Personally, I’d fire Daboll and hire Kliff Kingsbury. I think he is the new young star offensive coach.
  4. I love Harry. I think he is held back by his qb too. Mans I’ll say good for Foster for making some plays. I still would never trust him in a clutch situation. Your hands don’t magically improve. But his physical skills will have him with a chance to be in a roster and crack a lineup. But this group needs to get much better.
  5. I thought Goff was a much better prospect than Allen. They also upgraded to one of the best offensive coaches in the league. Gurley is the best rb in the nfl. But it’s a fair point that is going to depend on Allen. the Jags’ regression was pretty easy to see. In a weird way, this might be the best thing to happen to them because they will have a high pick and can add a qb or another good piece to a pretty good team.
  6. Tre White is awesome. Hard to say he is the best but he is really up there. It also shows that having a great CB means really nothing in today’s nfl. A bunch of the best ones are in terrible teams - Peterson, Ramsey/ Bouye, slay.
  7. I hate that I’m defending Marrone but yo idealize the only reason he has had OC jobs is because of Marrone. Has anyone tout the brilliant offensive mind of Nate Hackett before? The Jags flopped big time this year and changes needed to made. Again, I’m no Marrone fan but what was he supposed to do?
  8. They have lost 7 games in a row and average 17.9 points per game. He was getting fired no matter what. And Daboll should be on the hot seat as well. I get being patient but it is also stupid to stay with an OC who really doesn’t have a great track record. Is there anything special Hackett does? also, I’m in the Kliff Kingsbury for nfl OC camp. I think he can be an awesome OC if he just focuses on that.
  9. Agreed Allen has a cannon. But what you said is what terrifies me about Allen. He seems like a good dude who is a hard worker. But I rarely have seen a guy have more excuses made for him than him. He helped us win a game so I’m not trying to crush him. But in a league with 50 point games, we won with 8 completions. As for the drops, which there were, the Bills only have 10 this year. http://stats.washingtonpost.com/fb/tmleaders.asp?range=NFL&type=Receiving&rank=232 his physical skills are awesome. This regime did a terrible job surrounding him with weapons. But at some point, you need to be better than a 52% passer. And he has never been higher than 56% on any level. At some point, we just have to admit he needs to get more accurate.
  10. I don’t and think you are too easily dismiss how good Mahomes is. Allen would definitely hit some bombs but because of his mechanics, he can’t make those passes consistently. That’s why I wanted him to sit like Mahomes and not be forced in too early to work on those mechanics. Mahomes was a 64% passer in college and is 67% in the pros. Allen has never been higher than 56% on any level. i know there are a million excuses and it’s great to see him make plays without being a consistent passer. But for him to be the guy we need, he needs to win with his arm first then his legs. Why? First of all, Cam and Wilson were much superior passers than Allen/ Jackson right away. Allen and Jackson are winning games with huge running plays and a few big passing plays. But they are both below average nfl passers at this point. I really don’t see how this can be disputed.
  11. Allen definitely has the stronger arm but I think the comparison is a lot closer than you think. In fact, Jackson actually has better passing numbers across the board than Allen. I basically had Jackson and Allen equal at draft time. They are both really raw and capable of great plays. The key with both is consistency.
  12. Isn’t Josh Allen essentially Lamar Jackson? And that’s honestly what I expected as I thought both were very raw. allen is much faster than I thought. And he did what he needed to do to win. But you aren’t going to be able to win consistently running the ball as a qb. But he made plays when he needed to.
  13. The only reason Hackett is an OC is because of his friendship. I don’t like Marrone but he gave Hackett his whole coaching career.
  14. Or maybe he just got a job he wasn’t qualified for because Marrone was friends with his dad. Say what you want to about EJ but statistically, he had a better rookie year than Allen is having. Bortles regressed after last year as well. the nepotism in the nfl is a huge problem. These guys keeping getting jobs because of who their dad is and/ who they are friends with. EJ probably might not have been good but giving him Nate Hackett as both his OC/ QBs coach for his rookie year after only being an OC at Cuse was so stupid. The Jags falling apart this year was so predictable.
  15. Fun fact: EJ would have the highest career qb rating of any qb on the Bills’ roster. He leads by over 7 points to the next closet guy, Derek Anderson. Trust the process! He was such a coward. He sucked pretty much except against the Jets. One of the worst Bills ever. Total kitty cat.
  16. I would say making the top 1% of his profession and making millions of dollars would qualify as success. But it’s a great story and he will be a great role model for young people. I wish him a ton of success.
  17. Yup, Clay sucks. Not Tyrod, Allen, Anderson, Barkley, Peterman. It’s Clay who sucks. Because our qbs suck. Wild prediction. Clay would be good if he didn’t play with the worst qbs in the nfl.
  18. If Josh Allen could ever have that same exact game, you would never post this. Never.
  19. There’s always a chance and I hope it happens. Warner was his conferences player of the year and got great experience in the AFL and Nfl Europe before the nfl. I wish Allen could have done that.
  20. Ok, I misinterpreted. Of course, I did a tongue in cheek think comparing Allen to Tyrod. Isn’t that why we got rid of Tyrod? He won’t lose us games but he rarely won them. I know he’s young but man, I want more out of our highest drafted qb ever. I want that too but he hasn’t really shown he could do that on any level. College stats are overrated. But I think the really good nfl qbs looked dominated the majority of the time in college. Allen really never did that.
  21. I hated it from the beginning and I love Stanford players. He’s never had double digit sacks, he has 18 in 4 years, and was coming off a major injury and PED suspension. He also might have a fake birth certificate because there’s no way him or his body are 27. much like rbs, get young pass rushers in the draft. Much cheaper and fresher. Unless McBeane needs to prove they didn’t make a mistake, a la Peterman, he shouldn’t be on the roster.
  22. He’s hunting whitetail, which is all that really matters.
  23. Running back is one of the coolest positions in sports. It’s also kinda insane to play. I remember all the rbs I played with just covered in ice after games. If I was an agent, I would hold out a good rb early in their career to maximize their value. I bet we see more of the Bell type holdouts for young rbs. These teams just run them into the growth and then want to move on.
  24. A smart team won’t have even had him in a position to start at all this year. Forcing a guy with questionable mechanics to play before he is ready on a crappy offense is so stupid. But it’s done now. And whether people want to admit it, done a dozen journeymen qbs like Anderson and Barkley moves the offense better than Allen did. i just want him to show some consistency. I know he has a cannon and is mobile but there’s so much more to being a nfl starting qb. Just look competent.
