I think a big difference is those guys produced in college. Davis had 1200 yards and 12 tds his last year in college. Shakir had almost 1200 and 7 tds his last year. In one year, they almost out did what shorter did in 5. college stats can be very deceiving but his lack of production in 5 years is really telling. Reminds me of Robert Foster.

Never got that pick. 5 years, 1500 yards, 8 tds. That’s a lightly below even mid.

Agree with all you said but I do think the bias is in Bills fans heads a bit. Allen took a lot of crap when he came into the nfl. So did Jackson. And Hurts. I think after year 3, the Bills were one of the most beloved teams in the nfl. Allen was a God after that KC loss. however, it’s a case of being good but not good enough. We havent gotten past that KC title game loss yet so people have started writing us off. I’d also argue last year was the worst Allen played in prime time games (Jets, Broncos, Chargers) so he didn’t get the love he did in past years. So if anything, we have become underdogs again. No one respects our wrs and we lost a bunch of leaders (mainly old) but still. Add to the narrative that Jackson isn’t winning again or Mahomes, this might be Allen’s best case if he has a normal or close to Allen season.

I think the Pats might screw him up but I wish they had Mac Jones instead of Maye. Maye has some Allen to him. luckily, they have been a joke at evaluating offensive talent for a decade. But Maye could be a good one I agree but it’s hilarious how it was ever a doubt. Dude has been awesome since he was a freshman. It was only beta dudes who didn’t like him because he painted his nails and was “different.” He will be a top 10 qb in 2 years.

See this is the crap that is so stupid. Why do you have to put down Jackson to prop up Allen? I’m sure Ravens fans do the same thing with Allen. Throw Burrow in there vice versa. Jackson has a 58-19 record as a nfl starter, 2 MVPs, and a Heisman. He’s really good. Burrow won a championship, got to a SB, and a Heisman. Allen came from no where to become at worst a top 5 qb (I’d put him 2). moral of the story, the only qb who is not probably considered overrated by other fanbases is Mahomes (who some bills fans still don’t think is that good). however, this is the year where Allen will get the lion share of credit if he can get this group to make noise. Josh Allen wasn’t going to try hard but if he sees this poll, it’s on!!!! Bills fans are very insecure about Allen. And I get it. He was doubted (I certainly did) and has become amazing. But it’s like the ugly dude who suddenly gets a beautiful girlfriend. They have to tell all their friends his pretty she is instead of just being happy they have a beautiful girlfriend. we have a beautiful Josh Allen. Who cares what other people think?

Also if there was a team that would make me feel better about reading for someone else’s qb, it’s the Packers. Literally, the best franchise at evaluating/ developing qbs in the nfl.

Maybe but so is Mitch and he’s 30. It’s the preseason so it’s pretty worthless but he had 104 qb rating on a bad titans team. Mitch went 0-2 on a 10-7 playoff team last year. I’d rather take the younger, more talented guy than the guy who has proven many times he is not good. Mitch, great guy though.

I’ll probably be in the minority but I’d rather have Willis as a backup learning under Josh than our current situation. Especially for a 7th.

Imagine Sean taking his kids to the zoo or his wife out to dinner having to fight random bills fans for no real reason. whispers: I would watch it if it was a reality show

Former UB guy too

Who’s stock is up after today’s game? Who’s stock went down?

I feel sad. I just had zero interest in preseason this year. The games were so meh and nothing really caught my interest. So I’m giving myself a thumbs down. and Gore Jr thumbs up Eh, it’s sad but the league is filled with Ty Johnson. It’s why we got him in waivers and why he has bounced around. Tough world for RBs. -
I’m definitely stronger, bigger, and more handsome but out of principle, I don’t mess with wrestlers or guys with cauliflower ears. also, he seems like a nice guy and I don’t why I would just want to fight him in the first place.

Cam Newton, recognizing coverages, disguises and Sean McDermott

We had a borderline top 5 roster for most of those 5 years. Yup. Lack of a legit scary pass rusher costs this team. We have nice “solid” all around DEs but no one who scares offenses. Those we have to create pressure with blitzes and the better qbs you see in the playoffs eat that up. -
He’s going to be a really good slot guy if given the opportunity. I’m always for adding good players. But as others have said, slot is the one spot we’re pretty set at. We need outside help. He had 2000 yards and 14 tds at Bama. And dude was coming off battling leukemia. Pretty cold to not think that hasn’t had a major impact of his career. He’s looked really good this preseason with probably the best health he has been in a long time and opportunity

Cam played with a lot of crap at receiver. He helped Kelvin Benjamin be a 1,000 yard wr. He got a point with his shoulder where he could barely throw and he had one of the stronger arms in the nfl. Big Ben was a pretty mobile qb and got to a point where he was a statue back there. Those hits definitely took their tolls on both guys. I do think qbs are better protected now though so maybe Allen won’t get as much as a beating as those guys got.
-
This is a very good point but I get both sides. Allen is such a beast because of his dual threat. I also get the Bills being concerned because as big of a beast that Allen is, the hits add up. Especially because Allen loves contact. Cam and Big Ben were beasts too and the hits caught up to them. you don’t want to coach out aggression because that’s what makes Allen great. So hopefully he has learned to avoid those big hits because it’s a long season. But his feet make him so dangerous. It’s a fine line. Shakir is going to have a big year. For some reason, I can’t stand that Peter dude. Seems nice enough but seems like a giant dork who likes to brag who his friends are.

I love football so much but hate preseason for these takes. Mitch is really bad but Brett Rypien? Yikes.

Also if you want to cheer yourself, we could be the Vikings. Talk about an offseason from hell. Plus, 4 SBs losses and one of the best teams ever that didn’t win a SB lost when a kicker who didn’t miss a kick all year missed.

New Renderings of New Stadium Clubs

I was born and raised in Buffalo. Still think it’s stupid that it’s not a dome. Screw the elements and “toughness.” I want to be warm drinking expensive cocktails. -
I don’t get why qbs like Lance don’t get to play is the USFL or whatever it is called now. Dude might not be good but he has almost no game reps. No qb would develop will give the lack of playing time he has. That would also make the USFL so much more interesting if you had high draft pick current nfl qbs playing it. It would also help the nfl because there are so many garbage qbs that never develop.
