Why is McD not being talked about as coach of the year?
C.Biscuit97 replied to Antonio's topic in The Stadium Wall
Is this a real question??? Tomlin is 8-2 with Fields and Wilson, who everyone thought was washed. This is after making the playoffs with Kenny Pickett and Rudolph last year. After not having a losing season ever. People who doubt Tomlin at this point baffle me. and Sean has, and most always, done a great job since he’s been here. But COY tends to be an expectation award and the bills expectation is to be a playoff team. So while we might be better than most expected, it’s not dramatic enough, especially when you have an amazing QB. but this is why when some fans wanted him gone in the offseason, he would have a job in a second. He is a great leader and while I think culture is very overrated (your culture is great if you have an awesome qb and it sucks when you have a bad one), this is a very tight team. -
I wanna be in a throuple with Ana De Amas.

Brady under fire for calling Josh a "spaz" on Sunday's broadcast...
C.Biscuit97 replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall
Trust me, I totally respect that. All I was saying is I haven’t heard this mentioned at all. what are your thoughts? Should it be a bigger deal? I don’t think Tom the Dork might to offend and probably has said something like that to Gronk. Just as there were things that my friends and I said to each other that are now very frown upon. And I’m not a bigger enough loser to argue for “my right” to say something if does enough someone. -
Good point. We should have just assumed the qb wasn’t good enough and not tried. they literally almost made the playoffs at 9-7 and beat prime Rodgers without scoring an offensive td. Josh Allen on those Bills teams might win the SB God, I hate Trent Murphy. And Star. Beane has a lot of strengths. D line evaluation is not one of them.

Is this a serious question? Mario had one of the best defensive seasons in Bills history. He helped spear head a d line that had 4 guys with 10+ sacks and a top 3 defense. If we any qb besides EJ and that coward Orton, our defense would have made us a dangerous playoff team. Von’s biggest contribution has been giving glasses to kids (very nice) and maybe not beating his baby mama. One of the worst signings in team history. Mario could have been an all time great if he wanted to be (same with Dareus). God made him to be a DE. But he’s lacked that Kyle Williams/ Aaron Donald motor. And he was still really good.

I’m fine for anything that gets that dork off the air. I’m so sick of him being pushed on us. I always respected him as a player and want he achieved. But he’s not cool. He’s a dork who people only pretend is interesting is because he’s a great football player. Olsen is so much better and someone I would much rather hang out with. Tom Brady is a dork. Tom “The Dork” Brady fire him This is literally the first I have heard of this. It’s been a busy week though. -
This made me really sad on Halloween. John was a super nice guy who was always positive when talking about the Bills (some might say a homer 😉, I can used that term because I used to be one!). But even when he disagreed with you, he was always cordial about it. Never met him but he was one of the people I remember best from this board. May he rest in peace and get to see the Bills win one.

Sam Darnold and other QB resurrections
C.Biscuit97 replied to ChronicAndKnuckles's topic in The Stadium Wall
If you look back at who Cunningham played with, it was a lot of garbage. And he was the qb of arguably the greatest team to never play in a SB, the Vikes, when he was pretty old. I think of Moon if they had a defense. Part of me wants to say Rivers but I think the chargers are one of those teams that always chokes. -

See, I don’t know if Baker is that guy who can win a championship. They could have taken a commanding lead MNF and he threw a terrible end zone INT that completely swung the game. He is like the best version of Fitz - great heart, can be as good as almost any top Qb in spurts, but lacks the physical skills and thus has some bad turnovers. in a vacuum, pre massage Watson was a much better qb than Baker. Now the Browns trading for Watson with all that baggage? Awful, awful move. -
So why was Amari Cooper traded twice in his prime?
C.Biscuit97 replied to PoundingDog's topic in The Stadium Wall
He’s been a boon or bust type guy. He’s a very good wr but gets paid like a great one. I think your ceiling is limited if he’s your 1 but he certainly is a good to great 1B/2. and he is a monster upgrade to this roster. -
Good points. But I do think their job is easier because they have Mahomes so their margin of error is bigger than a team that starts Mitchell Tribusky for example. much easier for a defense to attack when they have a lead or know that if they give up 14 points, the game is over. Their offense has gotten worse every year under Nagy. Oh, 100%. But I think some fans have discounted that the bills did every bit good of job developing Allen that the Chiefs did with Mahomes. I do think the Bills could be Philly Andy Reid stage where they have plateau and need a change in leadership (especially an offensive head coach). But I think we will appreciate how good SM has been once he’s be gone for a few years. Allen was very far from a sure thing and the Buffalo Bills (which is insane to still think about) successfully developed a great qb. It’s wild.

Sfefanski handing over play calling duites to Dorsey this week
C.Biscuit97 replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall
Dorsey wasn’t close to as bad as he was made it out to be. but Cleveland is a disaster this year and Jameis will do Jameis things. -
I don’t agree on that because I think Mahomes is amazingly clutch and the bills situation was a very good one as well. He has won 2 SBs after trading away Hill. also, I believe McDermott has had better start to his coaching career than Reid did. I think McDermott and Daboll was a very good coaching combo and doesn’t get enough credit.

Jordan Addison is also a 1st rounder too and Aaron Jones looks great. I give credit to Sam but lots of qbs would like great there. Baker is throwing to a HOFer and a very good wr (at least he was 😞). situation matters. -

I agree with this. I don’t trust him in the slightest. Still makes way too many mistakes. also, fails on the handsome qb rating as well. Some can get by (Andrew Luck) but you need a cool last name or another trait. -

Baker threw 21 ints and had a 17 td to 13 int season in Cleveland. Some was the shoulder but he wasn’t regressing and didn’t show much promise in Carolina either. Hindsight 20/20, it is one of the worst decisions ever but KS (who has won 2 coach of the years and went to the playoffs with Joe Flacco) decided he wasn’t good enough. Salute to Baker for turning his career around. and situation matters. More QBs are ruined than developed Bryce Young might not be good enough but no one was going to make it in Carolina. I think Caleb Williams was a much better prospect but the Bears shockingly have done a great job of surrounding him with talent as well (I still think their coaching is suspect). But situation matters. -
You could say the same thing about Allen. I know it’s not popular to act like Allen wasn’t great from the time we drafted him, but he wasn’t. McDermott and Beane did a great job developing him. He joined a team that made the playoffs. They have had consistent top 5 defenses. Allen had the same OC for the first 4 years of his career who won Coach of the Year. They traded a 1st for Diggs. They have used high picks on TEs, RBs and linemen. the saying is more qbs are ruined than developed. See the Carolina Panthers and Browns. The Chiefs and the Bills have done a great job at developing their qbs and now they are the two best in the league.

I think Spags is a good DC but let’s not act like this has been some dominant group since Mahomes has been the starter. They ranked (in yards) 31 (lost afc title game by jumping Offside), 17, 16, 27, 11, 2, and 10 in the Mahomes’ era. The offense used to carrying that team and hope the defense could make a few key plays (like how the Colts were with Manning). now with Mahomes making big money and thinking he can make any scrub into a competent wr (see the Bills with Allen to start this year), they have put more resources in the defense and it’s greatly improved. Reid was a good coach who used to get destroyed for his time management and over passing before Mahomes. Mahomes is certainly helped by Reid but Reid also identified Mahomes as the qb he wanted and traded up to get him. It’s a perfect marriage. mahomes has sucked this year and they are 6-0. And no one will ever admit it, but when you’ve won 3 SBs, it’s hard to get up for regular season games against the Falcons in September. This team is sleep walking and still winning.

1 - congrats on knowing one of 7 Jags fans 2 - Kirk and Thomas also dropped tds. Also Lawrence is getting paid a ton and isn’t a franchise changer. He has bigger problems than Gabe Davis.
-
Trying to hard to impress random strangers! Sure. I forgot about the Jags game because there are irrelevant. But yes, I thought if Davis had a monster game, there would be a bills mafia meltdown. He did nothing and he still had a nice contract. Who cares?
-
You just saying words. He caught a td too. But spend your Sunday rooting against Gabe Davis on the Jags. Sounds super fulfilling.
-
Guys who do that are the one who follow their ex girlfriends on social media and get happy when something bad happens to them. Gabe’s worst crime is he wasn’t a good enough number 2 wr but he still had plenty of good moments here and far surpassed his draft selection. Personally, I haven’t thought Davis once this year.
-
So you think it’s just a giant coincidence that Edmunds, the QB of the defense, consistently finds himself in top 5 defense???? On separate teams???
-
Scumbag ones, absolutely. Guys who were good guys whose worst crime was getting a good contract? No. and I hated Orton because he was a coward.
-
Haha, the bolded is very true. but come on. The OP started a post laughing at Davis and he catches a td. It’s hilarious.
