  1. You cant expect a 4th rounder to be a superstar. Its nice when it happens, but you cant expect it. I would be happy with a Jonathan Wells type player with this pick though.
  2. Ahh...interesting...I like the thought. Only 1 problem... Come draft day, if JP is on the roster, nobody will think we are going to draft a QB.
  3. Oh, I know you're right. But what fun is it to not speculate this time of year? You never know what is going to happen (and afterall this IS the NFL), but on paper right now, our schedule looks RIDICULOUSLY easy.
  4. Didnt you also know st louis was going to win the world series last .... oh nevermind..thats a low blow
  5. I only put the "(or 2nd best)" to fend off anyone trying to say evans is better. Apparently I awoke the spirits on the other side!
  6. I have been saying this for a while but... WHY MOVE HIM? 1. He is our best (or 2nd best) reciever 2. He has little trade value 3. There are no better WRs available (possible exception Walker) 4. We dont need cap space 5. Even with additional cap space, there are no FAs out there worth the money. I dont get it. Ralph, pay the nice man. suck it up one more year. THEN cut him if you need the cap room. If we go into the season 5 mil under the cap and cut (or traded) moulds, im going to be pizzed
  7. I know we are going to be horrible...at least so I thought till I looked at the schedule. Man is it easy. I dont discount the fact that we are probably one of the worst teams in football (sad, but true), but we have to have the easiest schedule Jets Twice Tennessee Baltimore Green Bay Houston Detroit Minnesota All those teams should be pretty bad next year. Thats 8 wins for a decent team. Then add in Chicago Indianapolis New England (x2) Miami (x2) San Diego (without Brees) Jacksonvile Our schedule looks VERY EASY. 10 wins should not be out of the question if we can field an average ball club.
  8. Yeah, and someone who correctly handled the Chicago Bears and Detroit lions QB situations over the last 10 years is probably uniquely qualified to help him
  9. I wish the war room was on PPV for the draft...I know you cant do it for obvious reasons, but this is quality reality TV
  10. Family Guy, 24, Daily Show, Apprentice, Around the Horn, PTI. The Office...thats probably about it on a regular basis...though I need to watch more of "How I Met your Mother". Saw one episode, and was extremely funny.
  11. The gov't doesnt do ANYTHING efficiently. The JSF might be a giant a$$ kicking machine...but it aint cheap, and Lockheed Martin, Northrup Grumman, General Dynamics and others make a killing off the governments inefficiency. In addition, the majority of the military uses old technology. This is by choice. They are afraid of anything modern. They want what they know works. Tried and True technology. The navy is about 20 years behind modern technology because it still works and is still 100 times better than anything anyone else has. Now they pay a fortune to maintain these old aging ships, but thats another story...
  12. Kinda like saying, its not the kids that are the problem, its the parents. Some breeds are more prone to this kind of behavior (did not click on link..but im guessing what happens), but I have known very well behaved pit bulls. Its all about the owner.
  13. Why do people think these contracts are so heavily backloaded? History of Salary Cap 2002 71mil 2003 75 mil 2004 81 mil 2005 85 mil 2006 102 mil In 5 years, the salary cap has gone up from 71 mil to 102 mil, a gain of over 40 percent. Lets assume the cap grows at 5% a year. 2007 107 mil 2008 112 mil 2009 118 mil Now, I havent seen anything as to the magnitude of a signing bonus, but im going to assume 2mil. That means, as a percentage of the salary cap 2006 Cap 102 mil / hit 1.1 mil 1.0% 2007 Cap 107 mil / hit 2.4 mil 2.2% 2008 Cap 112 mil / hit 2.8 mil 2.5% 2009 Cap 118 mil / hit 2.9 mil 2.5% This is NOT a backloaded contract. The pct of the cap hit is about the same years 2-4. First year is always low because you pay the guy the minimum and give him a signing bonus. This is SOP and not a backloaded contract. 2.5% of the cap for a guy like denney is probably reasonable.
  14. I disagree. The first year almost always has a low cap number. This is because if you are paying a guy a 5 million dollar signing bonus, there is no need to pay him more than the minimum the first year, he is already getting 5M! Dont confuse Cap number with the amount ralph pays these guys. What is encouraging here is that salaries dont escalate much from year, and there is no baloon payment on the end. Also interesting is Royals contract peaks in the middle. Not sure what this means (if anything) except to say that the money is more "guarenteed" than the standard increasing every year contract, and also makes the contract more cap-friendly in the long run. These look to be some pretty sound contract numbers for these guys. Not sure who is taking care of the cap over at OBD, but early returns look positive.
  15. The formula is not released, but the #1 criteria is and has always been the net loss of players. Lose 2, gain 2...you get jack. We only got the 7th because JJ and PW earned bigger contracts than KH and Bennie.
  16. Bad Link. Try here http://www.buffalobills.com/news/news.jsp?news_id=3681
  17. Trust me. WE WILL NOT SEE A 3RD ROUND PICK. The BEST we will see is a 6th rounder.
  18. Just a 7th. If we are lucky a 6th...nothing more than that. Dont get your hopes up. BOOK IT.
  19. Yeah, and there is no way Aaron Rogers falls either...
