  1. Yeah prolly not. IF (I stress IF) clements is traded today or tomorrow, I woulndt mind grabbing this guy. He has to be better than our other options at CB for this year. As a long term solution...no thanks.
  2. Look around. Many teams are way under the cap. This is due to the new collective bargaining agreement and the resulting increase in the cap. There was an excess of money last year. Most teams were restrained in using it. We could have given monster contracts to below average players, but instead we played it smart and stood pat.
  3. I dont know.... Our Needs next year (as of now) 1. OL (Undisputed #1 need) 2. DL (Undisputed #2 need) 3. CB (Clements leaving, need someone to fill in here) 4. WR (Evans is good, PP/JR are good #3s. Need a big guy...) 5. LB (Aging, need depth) I can see us taking an OL or WR in the first round perhaps, but other then OL, the major need is back on Defense. TE is also a need, but clearly we wont take one in the first round, and after that its a crapshoot. Might as well wait til round 5 or 6.
  4. Uh... Phillip Rivers...Nope Tori Holt...Nope Tiki Barber...Nope Roy Williams...Nope Lee Evans...Not Really Frank Gore...Not Really Crumpler...Nah I guess it was stover...
  5. Umm...yeah. Complain about it. 6 of the first 7 games are in HD and you choose the first week we are not in HD to complain.
  6. If by Pro Bowler you mean pro bowler like Dick Weber is a pro bowler, not like Champ Bailey is a pro bowler, then I would have to defer to your superior knowledge of the hardwood. Otherwise...I think you are greatly mistaken.
  7. So Many inept teams? Well for One, they play in a division with the Lions, Packers and Vikings... Take a look at the bills schedule Jets (x2) Detroit Houston Green Bay Minnesota Miami (x2) Tennessee Not too shabby ourselves.
  8. Thanks for posting that. First time I have seen the jon stewart post 911 monolauge. I remember watching Letterman that night. Much of the same. And yes, we all need to remember that day. I know I do. I remember being on a military installation, being directed to leave work early. Coming home to an empty house, and (being new to the area) looking through the phonebook for a church to attend services that evening. We must never forget. But, like Jon Stewart said, we are free, and therefore, we have already won.
  9. Few things you guys are missing. 1) The bill passed was NOT an anti-internet gambling bill. The bill passed was a bill for Port Security. This was a major peice of legislation, and one with unanimous bipartisan support. At the last minute, a rider was attached to this bill for internet gambling. Obviously nothing to do with port security. This is why the bill was passed unanimously in the senate. Also good proof of the need for a line item veto. 2) The legislation itself does not appear to limit online gambling. What it does do is limit how funds get transfered to and from such sites, and makes it difficult to transfer funds without an off-shore bank account. 3) Internet gambling IS ALREADY illegal. However, poker is widely considered a game of skill, and is typically exempt from such restrictions. I suspect a legal battle may ensue over this "game of skill" Make no doubt about it, this will kill the online poker industry (at least in the US). Wont be long until sites stop dealing with american consumers. Pathetic.
  10. Most of my team showed up as well. Randy Moss being the exception...only 1 catch (for 5 yards and a TD). Still in trouble though....thanks to FRIGGIN ISSAC BRUCE
  11. Very interesting. I find it particularly interesting that 12 of the top 13 highest taxed states voted for Kerry in 2004 and the 24 fewest taxed states all voted for Bush. Not exactly sure what it means...just thought it was interesting
  12. Yeah, clearly the best WR in the college game today. Too bad Reggie Ball is throwing to him...
  13. Might be the funniest announcer rant of all-time. If you think the first 5 minutes are good....just wait, it gets SO MUCH BETTER. Absolutly hillarious. http://www.hipcast.com/export/P210e2df3bfc...lpxRlREYmJ1.mp3 Just one quote to wet your appitite: Re: Defensive Cordinator "I would rather have H.R. PufnStuf with Teddy Ruxpin as his assistant than to have you in this booth one more week! You're atrocious! Take your wristbands....AND STICK 'EM!!"
  14. Lets look at the 5 individual swaps Farve for Bulger - Sold Favre high. I'd rather have Bulger in the long run. Good Move. Still likely will only start 1 week unless McNabb goes down. I think you can get rid of brees now. Gore for Caddilac - Gore still has the better upside here. Is this a PPR league? Thats where gore is really good. Otherwise, I think this was a bit of a panic sell. At best, you took a slight loss on this trade. Lee Evans for Plaxico Burress. Sold evans very low. I think he will see some big games shortly. That said, Burress is a pretty good reciever, and should put up more consistent numbers with Eli. slight edge to you for consistency. McMicheal for Clark. I dont know what to think of Clark. But i know this, you sold mcmicheal very low and picked up Clark very high. Not usually a good plan. But I dont know what the deal with mcmicheal is this year, so I give you the edge. Mike Bell for Turner. Can you keep Turner for next year? If so, this is a steal. If not, there is litttle chance turner will see much action. Bell might also be done, but its devner, so you never know. If you didnt have LT, I would say you lose this deal. Since you have LT and can use Turner as a handcuff...i'd say even. So... Favre for Bulger - Slight edge to you Gore for Cadillac - Slight loss for you (even bigger loss if PPR) Evans for Burress - Slight edge to you McMicheal for Clark - Slight edge to you Bell for Turner - Even (big edge to you if you can keep turner). Intangibles: Gore and Favre are injury prone guys.
  15. http://www.denverpost.com/broncos/ci_4377180 Former Denver receiver Darius Watts worked out in Detroit and former Denver punter Micah Knorr worked out in Buffalo this week. ...I dont get it. Unless perhaps we are hoping he can be a kickoff specialist.
  16. Buffalo plays its third consecutive divisional game this week vs. the Jets. The last time the Bills opened with three division games was 1990, when the team advanced to Super Bowl XXV.
  17. With ya Johnny. Delhomme/Pummer are brutal. Just picked up Grossman and dropped Plummer. Smart move? I dont know, but i cant go on like this. Especially when my opponent has Amani Toomer putting up 35 points! Oh, honorable mention to: Randy Moss and Roy Williams
  18. Hope you didnt do this Gore, 74yds rushing 1TD (3rd Quarter) Driver, 153 yds recieving Benson, 25 yards rushing TO....TBD
  19. Also, his numbers dont reflect the 80 yard TD to Evans that would have been if not for PI. Well managed game, i agree. Did not make the big mistake, and played a smart game. I can live with that.
  20. I cant wait to see this guy. I think he will be someitng special. Not sure why...im just rooting for him big time
  21. Yeah, i wouldnt call that crazy depth by any means. Keep gore in any of those deals. TO is scary. a) he is somewhat hurt b) Rumors have bledsoe ridign the pine soon. c) Tuna is bound to get fed up with him. Its just a disaster IMO.
