  1. I could see Carolina/San Diego... Though any more powder blue and I might puke.
  2. While I agree that Drew is on the downside of his career (not that anyone could argue that point), I dont think he is done. There are several teams I could see employing his services. 1) New York Jets - If they decide to go away from pennington, I could see drew there for a year or two 2) Oakland - If Oakland decides to tackle a position other than QB in the draft, they might be looking for a stopgap QB. 3) Kansas City if the job opens up (i.e. Green retires) 4) Green Bay if Favre retires and Rogers is not ready to start the season. 5) Tampa Bay if they decide Gradkowski isnt the answer 6) Minnesota - Brad Johnson could hang it up 7) Detroit - Only in Detroit would Drews play be expected. 8) Philadelphia - What is McNabbs status for next year? Thats up to 8 teams, that could probably benefit from having Drew as a starting QB. Matt Schaub will probably get a job somewhere next year. Brady Quinn as well. Other than that, there arent many guys ready to fill these positions. Drew should get one of them.
  3. At least she is nicer to look at! Seriously, 2 cities? Wow, isnt it amazing that he can perform a 5 minute show in 2 DIFFERENT cities in a 8 hour span! If only we all could be so skilled to not know the words to songs we wrote and make an a$$ out of ourselves on national television TWICE IN ONE NIGHT! (did i mention separate cities)! Who does he think he is? Kenny Mayne? Okay...i think im over it!
  4. Im just in a tukey induces coma and the remote is on the other side of the room....
  5. Oh great....I get to see him again in 6 hours.... Is he really flying from Detroit to Kansas City? What does this prove? Wow...
  6. a) is he actually playing that guitar? b) why does he not seem to know the words to Proud Mary? c) Really, John Fogerty?
  7. Interesting story here http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2672291 After reading this argument, I side with the cable networks on this one. The NFL appears to be ridiculous here. They are suing cable companies because they are putting their network on premium tier packages vice basic cable. They are requiring huge fees to broadcast the NFLN. So, from a cable providers standpoint. 1) Cant put it on Premium Tiered programing 2) Have to put it on Basic Programming and increase fees for ALL users by about 70 cents per month. 3) The NFL has shown favortism to DirecTV, and many people who watch football have already switched to DirecTV. Thus depleating the need and the benefit of carrying the NFLN.
  8. I think DirecTVs problem is that they only have the physical ability to send so much information into your house. They are in the process of upgrading their infastructure, and the weak link (i belive) is the receiver in your home, which they are working on upgrading. Hopefuly im not telling too much of a tale here, Fez can correct if i am..but the problem (with DirecTV) anyway isnt a money issue, its an ability issue they are working to resolve.
  9. Gore and LJ. Wait a week and see how westy does with the new QB. Im skeptical.
  10. Hmm... amazing what you can find on google http://www.tvpredictions.com/dtvnfl112006.htm Should be airing on Channel 95... Good news.
  11. For those of us who cant afford to pay for cable, and thus have DirecTV (sorry, had to throw a plug in off the bat), the NFL network is advertizing tonights game in HD. How do I get this game? Its not Ch. 212 obviously. I dont see it in my 70-80 range channels. I dont see it in my 700-730 NFL ST chanels. Is this game being broadcast in HD on Directv?
  12. Nor do I. But by my count there are 18 games on saturday with a ranked team playing. One of them (USC/ND) is important to the national championship picture. and 2 (Arkansas/LSU and Florida/FSU) are marginally important to the title picutre. Its hard to believe someone other than USC or Michigan will be playing Ohio State. That means there are 17 games that ARE meaningless THIS weekend. If you use my playoff system 13 games matter: 1) BC/Miami matters. BC needs a win to play GT/VT for the Autobid. 2) Texas/Texas A&M Matters. Texas is in a battle with Oklahoma and Nebraska for the Big 12 Autobid. 3) LSU/Arkansas Matters. LSU despratly needs a win to try for an at large bid. Arkansas needs it as insurance in case they lose their conference championship. 4) Florida/Florida State matters. Florida needs the win for insurance same as Arkansas. 5) West Virginia/USF matters. WVA is in a battle with Rutgers/Louisville for the Autobid and possible at large bid. 6) Rutgers/Syracuse matters. Same reason As WVa/USF. 7) Louisville/Pitt matters. Same reason as Rutgers/Syracuse and WVA/USF 8) Oklahoma/Oklahoma state matters. Oklahoma is in a battle with Texas and Nebraska for the Big 12 autobid. 9) Georgia Tech/Georgia matters. GT is in a battle for the ACC Autobid with VT/BC/Wake 10) Boise St/Nevada matters. Using my formula, Boise goes undefeated and they are in. 11) Wake Forst/Maryland matters. Winner might get a chance to play for the ACC Title and autobid. 12) USC/ND matters. USC needs to hold on to their autobid. ND needs to keep winning to get an at large bid. 13) Virginia/VT matters. VT may have a chance to play for the ACC autobid Colorado/Nebraska really doesnt matter Clemson/South Carolina really doesnt matter Tennessee/Kentucky really doesnt matter BYU/Utah doesnt really matter Hawaii/Purdue doesnt really matter I agree with you. Im sick of seeing meaningless games in college football. But every week there are fewer and fewer games that matter.
  13. Perhaps the footballs not your friend John. Might want to visit Lambert field a few more times. Hillarious
  14. Oh, while we're at it... http://www.funnyhub.com/pictures/pages/phi...son-misses.html
  15. Another one of my all time favorite pictures http://www.americandigest.org/mt-archives/003992.php
  16. Well, I was looking for the john kerry spacesuit picture...and came across this sight. Very interesting. http://countrystore.blogspot.com/2004_07_2...re_archive.html
  17. I dont think anyone is defending it. I dont think anyone on this forum feels that he handled the situation properly. The only disagreement I see on here is whether this classifies him as a racist. And ya know...I really dont care. Racist or not, his words were hurtful and wrong. We dont need to label him, it serves no good. As a little aside, a good black friend of mine once told me that the reason the 'N' word is such a powerful word is because when used, it immediatly puts the person in receipt of the comment in a helpless position of inferiority. There is nothing they can say or do to dispute the connotations that word holds. They are helpess. And my friend also told me that there is a word being used against white people today that holds does the exact same thing...and that word is 'Racist'. Think how you would feel if someone called you a racist. What can you say? What can you do? How do you prove you are not? Think about how small you would feel, even though you know its not true. It is a very interesting comparison IMO. Something to think about.
  18. It doesnt matter who picks the teams in a playoff format. You make it so that ANY undefeated team is in, and the rest shakes out. If you get left off the bubble, sorry, you lost a game. You had your chance. The problem now is that its possible to do everything everyone asked of you, win every game, and not get a chance to prove you are the best at what you do.
  19. I dont watch college football, hardly at all. I watched a couple games the last few weeks when they had national championship implications...frankly, I probably wont watch another game until the BCS championship game. I might watch a bowl game on new years day, because its the thing to do, but I dont much care. Funny how the NFL can get me to watch Cleveland playing Oakland, yet I have no interest in a Notre Dame/Michigan game. Its not the game I hate. Its the NCAA and the way its run that I cant stand. Until an 11-0 boise state team gets a CHANCE to play for the title, I want nothing to do with it.
  20. Been sayin it for years. Dont understand why they dont do it. I would give each current BCS conference an autobid. Big 10, ACC, SEC, Big East, Pac 10, Big 12 Each send 1 team. They can decide it however they want, but they get 1 auto bid. Then have 4 at large Bids. These at large bids go to any undefeated team who played at least 11 games vs. D1A opponents and 2 wins over a BCS confernce team, and the top ranked teams in the coaches poll to fill out the spots This might also force Notre Dame to join a damn conference. For the record, my BCS would look like this: Big East - West Virginia Big 10 - Ohio State Big 12 - Texas ACC - Georgia Tech SEC - Florida Pac10 - USC At Large #1 - Michigan At Large #2 - Notre Dame At Large #3 - Arkansas At Large #4 - Boise St Week 1: Michigan vs Boise State (Wildcard Game) Arkansas vs. Notre Dame (Wildcard Game) Re-Rank 1-8 (Assume Notre Dame and Michigan win) (My guesses) 1. Ohio State 2. USC 3. Michigan 4. Florida 5. Notre Dame 6. Arkansas 7. Texas 8. Georgia Tech Week 2: Ohio State vs. Georgia Tech(Rose Bowl) USC vs. Texas (Cotton Bowl) Michigan vs Arkansas (Sugar Bowl) Florida vs. Notre Dame (Fiesta Bowl) Week 3: Ohio State/GT vs. Florida/ND USC/Texas vs. Michigan/Arkansas Week 4: OSU/GT/FLA/ND vs. USC/TEX/MICH/ARK Peice of Cake. You ADD 4 big time nationally covered games. Championship game will be bigger than the superbowl. Notre Dame might join a conferene because a) they will always need to play in the wildcard game if they make the playoffs and b) They might get left out of the dance entirely even if ranked in the top 10.
  21. I was post #19 and only one person mentioned him (and only by his last name). Didnt want to start a trend!
  22. Wow, Kramer went off... I need to hear what these guys were saying earlier, but I suspect that a) Kramer is an idiot, there is no reason to go off like that b) These guys in the audience said some pretty bad stuff to provoke him c) Kramer will enter a rehab clinic in less than 48 hours.
  23. Saw that during SNF. Didnt know that was the case, but it definatly doesnt suprise me
  24. Brutal? We should be able to beat Miami, Tennesee, and the Jets. Baltimore might be resting week 17. And 4 of the 6 remaining games are at home! Next 2 weeks will define this season. If we can pick up a win next week, I dont think 9-7 is out of the question. perhaps this is some unwarranted optimism based on todays game, but assuming the light went on today, I would put even money that we finish 8-8 or better.
