  1. yeah, looks like 3 years, 17M to me... which aint bad. At that point, he will either be VERY good and demand a significant new contract, or he will not be worth 3.6M in 2010 and be cut.
  2. And never mind Tom Brady in the 6th round, london fletcher as an UDFA, Marques colston as (almost) mr. irrelavent. Face it, the draft is a gamble. sometimes it pays off, sometimes it doesnt....but the more different numbers you cover up on the roulette board, the better chance you're going to hit it big.
  3. No, but I do think it would explain, at least partially, why we were so gung-ho about moving him
  4. Have you ever seen a grown man naked?
  5. Willis is gone...hmm...do I see a connection?
  6. Yeah, its like he lost his drive. That first year he was pretty good. Got outside, nasty stiff arm gave me a stiffy. But after that first season, he has just been flat. Dancing around like he is auditioning for Grease III, reading a braille playbook, and playing dead three times a game. The guy just didnt care. Didnt want to improve himself. Hard to believe that a guy who gave 1000% to come back from such a devistating knee injury just couldnt motivate himself to improve his game. The ravens are getting an adequate back. And one with alot of upside. If he returns to his rookie (or 2nd year) form, he will be a good pickup. And being with all those guys from the 'U' might be a good help. But honestly, I see him being a top 20 RB for the rest of his career. Which isnt a bad career, its just so much less than he could have been.
  7. Also just got the 404 pink screen of death.... And, long-term, are we going to need to sign in to view the board? I'd rather not have to...but I guess I'd still be here if I did!
  8. Q (Reporter): Did willis ask for a trade? A (Juron): Thats a question you will have to ask willis Hmm...
  9. 2001 95 - Jonas Jennings 100 - Rudi Johnson 2002 91 - Brian Westbrook 2003 81 - Derrick Dockery 82 - Ricky Manning Jr 93 - Chris Brown 94 - Angelo Crowell 97 - Chris Simms 101 - Dominick Davis 111 - Terrence McGee 2004 81 - Chris Cooley 90 - Matt Shaub 91 - Tony Hargrove 2005 83 - Chris Henry 109 - Marion Barber 110 - Brandon Jacobs 2006 79 - Jerius Norwood 105 - Ko Simpson Thats just a quick list of people around that area. Note that these are the "sexy" name guys. There are only a handful of teams (other than the bills) that I could name 2 members of their O-Line, so undoubtably there are some good Linemen and 2nd tier players that I ommited from the above lists. But there are GOOD players that come out of that round. Interesting to note how many are current (or former) Bills...
  10. Who are they going to block for? How about a guy named JP LOSMAN! Ugh, sometimes this show is annoying. Not saying I want us to sign Corey Dillion, but ask yourself this question, Which way is our team better next year Upgraded OL, Willis Mcgahee OR Upgraded OL, Corey Dillon and lets say, a 3rd round Cornerback? (never mind the additional 3rd next year....) Its not a tough choice. This trade improves us.
  11. This is the same network which refused to show a picture of muhammed....right?
  12. I'd consider buying one.... but this thing is just UGLY http://www.velocityjournal.com/images/full...olt22013311.jpg
  13. Turner - Yes. (SD wont do it) Betts - No. Briggs - Hmmm.....
  14. It would be a damn miricle if it happens. Shawn Alexander - Not worth a 2nd round pick Edgarrin James - Not worth a 2nd ronnd pick Thomas Jones - Worth a swap of 2nd round picks Willis McGahee - Worth a 2nd round pick PLUS a 5th round pick..... Somehow this just doesnt add up
  15. RAVENS CLEARING CAP SPACE: The Ravens just cut veteran guard Edwin Mulitalo according to their website. Mulitalo had three years remaining on his contract. His release takes the guard's $2 million base salary off their books for the 2007 season, but his accelerated signing bonus might make it a wash. I'll have to check that. But it's also $2 million in base salary off the books for 2008 and 2009. Anyone want to speculate as to why they're clearing cap room? Still would rather keep him....
  16. If I recall correctly, the current rule in place requires that for each successive time you tag a guy, his salary is either the top 5 in his position, or increases by 20%, wichever is higher. I understand a players position, but lets think about this for a minute. Yes Porter got 20M guarenteed, but he is also getting a league minimum salary to go with the guarenteed money (assumption on my part, but its probably close to it). Briggs is getting 7M (or so) guarenteed this year, and then will likely sign a contract next year worth 20M guarenteed (or more). In a 2 year time frame, he will make MORE money than porter. Catch is, if he gets hurt this year, he loses big time.
  17. Again, why would the raiders give up a 3rd round pick, and pay mcgahee a huge signing bonus/contract (which he is sure to want), when they can go get a Chris Brown for average money and keep their 3rd round pick? It just doesnt make sense. You saw how little the Bears got for Thomas Jones. Thats what we are looking at here folks.
  18. Wow. Again, this has nothing to do with my point. Take him out of the equation if you want to. Hell, I could have said LT was available and threw san diego into the mix and my point would be valid. I just saw a team with a back that had an awful year, and might be looking elsewhere. Perhaps they are not. If I told you i had inside information would you be happy?
  19. I'll give you Cadillac not being available, but I dont think Tampa is too enamored with him. I could see them being interested in a RB and then putting caddilac on the market, which is why I threw him in there. Its no big deal though. Scratch Caddilac and TB off the list, now you have 6 teams needing a RB and 16 available adequate choices. I could have thrown Oakland/Jordan in there....but again, its pretty irrelevant to my overall point. Willis may or may not be the best back on the list, but he will cost the most (both financially and in pick compensation) than any other back on the list (sans Turner). It is unlikely anyone will give up a 3rd round pick for McGahee when they can go out and get a Chris Brown or Corey Dillon for no compensation, pay them less and not listen to them whine. This is not the time to unload mcgahee. Best case scenario, keep him this season, make him prove himself.
  20. Amusing, yes. An actual voting member of the most powerful body in the country....not so funny.
  21. Phew. I thought this was Al Franken and I was very upset I was going to like him for 5 minutes
