  1. Hence the devil smiley! I need to learn how to lay on the sarcasm around here!
  2. So, what I am hearing you say is that illegal aliens may be good for the economy because they keep prices down and we dont have to pay them them minimum wage? Explain to me again why raising the minimum wage is a good thing again?
  3. I'd be okay with it.... I mean, I know there are better options out there, and I would rather persue those options, but at the end of the day, if we dont have those other options, I guess I'd be okay with this.
  4. Clarkson defeated Quinnipiac in Albany, taking over the #3 slot in the nation, and will head to Rochester next weekend to continue their quest towards the NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP! Congratulations Techers! Onward and Upward!
  5. True, but Desmond Howard was hardly good. He had some good seasons, and some good games, and he is one of the top guys on this list, but I cant really call him a good pro. If you include howard, you have to include whickkkky... But I think the point remains, the prognosis for heisman winners in the NFL is NOT good.
  6. Really? You would actually be EXCITED to vote for hillary? You must be one of about 50 people in that camp. I'm sure she will get alot of votes, but you are the first person I have ever heard express excitement about her candidicy.
  7. I think we will draft a QB. Will be 2nd day though. I see us cutting Holcomb (perhaps nall, but i think Holcomb is more likely) and keeping a rook on the roster.
  8. Wearing a whole lot of Green (and Gold), turning on ESPNU and watching Clarkson University take home another ECAC Hockey Championship! Bring on the NCAAs! Frozen Four here we come, I feel it!
  9. Gino Teretta. For a while there, the hiesman was a curse in the NFL draft. I stand corrected....Teretta was apparently drafted in the 7th round. Some Heisman Busts: 1989 - Andre Ware 1990 - Ty Detmer 1991 - Desmond Howard 1992 - Geno Teretta 1993 - Charlie Ward 1994 - Rashaan Salaam 1996 - Danny Werfuel 1999 - Ron Dayne 2000 - Chris Winkie 2001 - Eric Crouch 2003 - Jason White If past history is anything...its not looking good for Troy Smith. I knew this list was going to be bad, but not THIS bad. In fact, since 1989, the only heisman winners who have hit it big are Eddie George, Ricky Williams (kinda), Charles Woodson and Carson Palmer. Jury is still out on Linert/Bush. Thats FOUR of SEVENTEEN...
  10. I think they have the right to negotiate and sign him...just if they do, the saints get two first round picks...could be wrong as I dont really understand the intricacies of the franchise tag.
  11. Yeah, Detroit and Houston both have 2 (or more) quality backs...I cant see either taking Peterson at this point. Cleveland and (possibly) minnesota are the only 2 teams that MIGHT take him. Doubtful Minnesota would anyway, they dont NEED him, and Cleveland is will have at least 2 of the following 4 options: Joe Thomas, Brady Quinn, Calvin Johnson and JaMarcus Russell. If CJ goes #1 and detroit takes Joe Thomas, perhaps Cleveland will take peterson, but i dont see things going down like that. Barring a trade-up, its looking at least probable peterson will be there at #12. There arent many teams that would consider trading up for him either. NYG, TEN and GB come to mind. But if peterson is going to fall to 12, GB is virtually assured of either lynch or peterson, so im not sure why they would trade up. NYG seem at least fairly happy with Droghns/Jacobs, and moving into the top 10 would take some serious picks. Same with Tennessee, except they dont have a RB and might be a little more desperate. So bottom line, the only 2 scenerios I see where peterson is NOT on the board at #12 is 1) Joe Thomas is off the board (DET) and Cleveland decides to take a quarterback (or CJ) 2) Tennessee trades into the top 11 to take Peterson Either way, its win/win. He either falls and we are happy to take him, or he goes in the top 11 and someone else (okoye, branch, willis, etc.) fall.
  12. Forgot about shelton. But I cant imagine he will get a deal worthy of being a player qualified for comp picks...
  13. When you are the quarterback for the new york giants!
  14. Well, i think what you are seeing, at least thus far in the election season (if you can call it that), is that people are looking for a leader. We are sick of having presidents who are not leaders. On the republican side, both Rudi and McCain fit that bill nicely. I dont agree with Rudi on alot of issues, but I respect him and trust him, I have seen him in times of crisis, I have seen what he did with new york, and he passed these tests with flying colors. Sure I would rather have someone with the political positions of Ron Paul, but when it boils down to it, I think Rudi is the better man to lead this country NOW. We are in a world of hurt, and issues that once seemed significant (gun control, abortion, etc) are insignificant in the overall scheme of things.
  15. I particularly like how the OP suggested we would trade up to number two, then trade down. This would imply that we could get better value for that pick than detroit would off the bat. Very odd rumor here...
  16. 1. Rudi 2. Rudi 3. Gingrich 4. Ron Paul 5. McCain 6. Romney 7. Thompson (could move up) 8. Kusinich (for entertainment value) 9. Hitler 10. Hillary
  17. Lost: Fletcher and Clements Gained: Dockery and Langston I dont think Gandy or Whittle will qualify. could be wrong. You cant tell me that we wont sign another FA. It wont be another blockbuster deal, but signing an average role guy will push us over the top.
  18. While the formula for determining how comp picks are awarded is secret, there has NEVER been a case of a comp pick being awarded to a team who gained more qualified players (in number) in free agency than they lost. To state otherwise is just plain ignorance on the issue of compensatory picks.
  19. Nope. None next year either. Not with the signing of dockery and walker.
