  1. Looks good....but i'd feel alot more confident if half those clips werent him playing against the bills!
  2. I think we are fairly thin at safety, especially if Wire is playing LB. Simpson and Whitner look to be really good, but we still need depth
  3. And restructuring will only bring future payments into the present. Not going to happen.
  4. Bingo. Me too. Either way though, Peters and Dockery on the left side will help JP immensely.
  5. 1) Hargrove was tendered as an RFA. 2) Right now, we are preparing for the draft, and looking at the FA pool. Little effort (i would think) is going into extending or reworking the deals of guys currently under contract. 3) Salary cap is not a concern for the bills (at least so they say). They are well under the cap and do not need additional cap space. What they need is more dollars. Reworking does little good in the cash-to-cap philosophy unless you have extra dollars to allocate in the current year and want to spend them so that next year you dont have to spend so many. I dont see this as the case this year.
  6. I love the umpire who signals for his ejection after almost being hit by the pitch
  7. Not sure than we can get more numbers than we got against cullpepper....
  8. Oh, i love ignorance. The FIRST CRITERIA on getting ANY comp picks is this: Did you lose more players than you gained? The SECOND CRITERIA is What is the value difference between what you lost and what you gained. Without #1 there ARE NO COMP PICKS (except for a possible 7th if the value difference is very large) So the KEY to us getting comp picks next year is to lose more players than we signed. I dont think Wittle will qualify as a player gained. IF gandy qualifies as a player lost, we now have lost 3 players and gained 2...thus allowing us to recieve a pick higer than the possible 7th rounder. The actual salaries do matter...but ONLY if you lose more than you gain (in raw numbers). Them's the facts. Of course if we sign another qualified FA, it doesnt matter. But there arent too many left out there.
  9. this thread isnt official looking enough
  10. Its like the franchise tag. If you sign a franchise tag guy and the team chooses not to match, you give up 2 first ronud picks. This doesnt happen and the player just gets traded for whatever. Same here. We can sign turner, SD can not match, and we owe them a first and a 3rd. However, if they will trade him to us for a 2nd round pick...thats perfectly legal. So the MOST we can give up is a first and a 3rd.
  11. No. Neither are Cuts. Only players lost and gained in Free Agency. (Not sure how RFAs are handled)
  12. The question is going to be whether or not Whittle qualifies as a player gained and whether Gandy qualifies as a player lost. If Gandys contract is in the 3 years 15M range (which i think is nutz), and whittle does not qualify, its possible we get a 4th or 5th rounder. Of course, if we sign Chris Brown or another meaningful FA, its all for naught.
  13. You clearly do not understand how comp picks work....
  14. Interested to see the numbers. Could give us a comp pick next year...
  15. Analogy is a bit flawed. If he paid $100,000 for a car that was worth $25,000 at the time, but in 5 years that car was a relic, worth $500,000, he got a great deal. Perhaps he could have saved 75k, but its still a good deal. Thats why you have to take into account how well he performs before deciding HOW bad a deal this is.
  16. The buyer and seller have reached an agreement. The seller cannot back out of the deal unless the buyer doesnt live up the their end of the contract. Basically, the house is sold unless the buyer decides he does not want to or can't buy. This can happen for any number of reasons 1) Financing falling through 2) Home inspection reveals problems 3) Contract is contingent upon the sale of the buyers current house, and current house does not sell in time specified in the contract. 4) Buyer just gets cold feet 5) Some other reason I cant think of now All 4 (5?) are possible, but basically the house is off the market, but not sold..yet. Call the realtor and find out the status of the house. Give them your contact information, and tell them that if the deal falls through you would be very interested. Be prepared for the realtor to tell you "I just listed a house around the corner from this one" or some other line...they will try to get your business. If you want, meet with the realtor, but the best (and easiest) way out of this situation is simply say "im working with an agent already, I just wanted to see if this house was available" Also, im not sure if they can provide this info, but ask when closing is scheduled for, and give a call back to the agent a couple days/week before the closing to see if everything is going smoothly. Also ask something to the effect of "did you find a well qualified buyer". This is a tough question to ask and for them to answer, but if asked correctly, it will give you a good feel for how solid they feel the buyer is, and how likely it is they wont be able to secure financing. Let me know if you have any additional questions.
  17. How does Triplett, Dockery and Langston = signing guys that did not pan out...?
  18. You kidding me? First off, its April 1st, so nothing is going to be taken seriously here, 2nd, there is no way whittner knows what we are going to do in the draft. Even if Marv knows already (and I doubt he does), there is no way Whittner is in on the conversation.
  19. If your last three are Peter Frampton, Brian McKnight and Reuben Studdard, we got a good shot at the superbowl halftime show...
  20. Ya'll missing the point. Its not that you need 3 skill positions that were first round picks, its that you need to HIT on your first round picks. 1996: Harrison 1997: Tarik Glenn 1998: Peyton Manning 1999: Edgarrin James 2000: Rob Morris 2001: Reggie Wayne 2002: Dwight Freeney 2003: Dallas Clark 2004: Bob Sanders 2005: Marlin Jackson 2006: Joseph Addai Not sure if Rob Morris is a starter, but, EVERY ONE of them is a productive player, and all but one is still on the team. Thats the key. Dont miss on draft picks, and keep them on your team. Supplement as necessary through Free Agency. But while we are talking about 2nd round RBs....here are the running backs selected in the 2nd ronud since 2000 2000: None 2001: Anthony Thomas, Travis Henry 2002: Deshawn Foster, Clinton Portis, Maurice Morris, Ladell Betts, 2003: None 2004: Tatum Bell, Julius Jones, Greg Jones 2005: JJ Arrington, Eric Shelton 2006: Lendale White, Maurice Drew Third Round Running Backs 2000: Travis Prentice, Ruben Droughns, Doug Chapman 2001: James Jackson, Kevan Barlow, Travis Minor 2002: Brian Westbrook, Lamar Gordon 2003: Musa Smith, Chris Brown, Justin Fargas 2004: None 2005: Frank Gore, Vernand Morency, Ryan Moats, Maurice Clarett 2006: Brian Calhoun, Jerius Norwood,
  21. while he may be available to Green Bay or Tennessee or Detroit for Peanuts, I doubt he would be available for Buffalo for peanuts..
  22. Nice! I'll probably get flamed for this, but Simpson, Reed, two firsts and two thirds for LT...As GM, I might pass on that deal....seriously.
