  1. For anyone who does not believe the opponents are set.... I predict these will be our opponents Home: Bengals, Cowboys, Dolphins, Giants, Jets, Patriots, Ravens, Broncos Away: Browns, Dolphins, Eagles, Jets, Patriots, Redskins, Steelers, Jaguars I Double Chad Johnson GUARANTEE it. Only question is the dates, and when the bye week is.
  2. Uninformed? UNINFORMED?!!!!!! I just hope we win a damn game. Look, Ricky Williams IS NOT, i repeat IS NOT the kind of player marv is looking for. End of story. I know, you said it would never happen. Great. You're my hero. Thanks for interrupting my discussion with TIPSTER. I wasnt even talking to you. And for the record, No, I did not read your post. Good Day.
  3. Fine. Except the fact that he was here illegally is justification to deport him. And any illegal alien detained for any reason should be deported, or AT LEAST reported to the FBI.
  4. He's not. And that is what marv means by "football character"
  5. Well, first off, I dont think this would be a money issue. Ricky is under contract, and if traded, it would be up to the recieving team to work out a contract extension. I dont think anyone in their right mind would extend his contract, so unless he is making ridiculous money, I wouldnt think working out a new deal would be an issue. Secondly, in the CFL he played in 11 games and ran for 500 yards and 2 touchdowns and had 2 semi-major injuries. Not the kind of stats I want of my starting RB. But the real problem....this quote: "I really like Toronto, I really like this organization ... you can live here, you know? "
  6. I love it. "You are forgetting Gibran Hamdan." LOL. Say...isnt a certain Drew Bledsoe available?
  7. Except the ISSUE wasnt drunk driving. The ISSUE was an illegal alien was arrested for breaking the law and was not deported. Turned into a major story when he killed someone. Lets say an illegal alien was arrested for breaking a traffic law, allowed to stay in the country and a month later flew a plane into a skyscraper (hmm...sounds eerily familiar). There are 2 issues. 1) how do we stop others from flying planes into buildings and 2) why was he allowed to stay in the country after he was arrested? Same issue.
  8. Royal is sufficient. Rice is a excellent reciever. He is tall. he is fast. Other than Royal, we dont have a good go-to guy inside the 20. Rice can be that guy. He had 23 touchdowns in just 2 years at South Carolina. Another year and he would be a mid-first round pick. He made a mistake coming out early IMO, and didnt run well at his workouts. I think he would be a steal with our 2nd round pick. Evans/Rice/Reed/Parrish - And probably cut PP...
  9. No, but lawrence Phillips is looking for work
  10. How could geraldo not see oreillys point?! His point was CLEARLY that if you are in this country illegally, and commit a crime, you need to be deported. The only reason this is big news now, is that the guy was NOT deported, and wound up killing someone. It has nothing to do with drunk driving. It could have been a shooting, drug dealing, anything. I cant believe the apathy in this country towards illegals. I welcome them all in, but file the paperwork, get a green card, get a job, pay taxes, and learn the language.
  11. Yeah, its a little hard to say...but I think that the majority of teams who are looking at him are looking at him as a fullback, which clearly he does not want to do, and the 2nd round is historically very early for a fullback (though he is definitely more than a FB). He is a great team guy, but he doesnt want to be a fullback. He will tow the party line wherever he goes, but the key to a successful organization, be it baseball, football, or Kroger is to have people who WANT to be there. I see this as an ideal pick for us, because we can give him a shot at RB, and then next year grab a RB early and move him over to FB if things dont work out.
  12. Okay, after much deliberation, I will publish my first Mock Draft for 2007. 1 - Patrick Willis, LB, Mississippi - Loss of Fletcher/Spikes. Best player at a need position. 2 - Sidney Rice, WR, South Carolina - Big WR, Big Hands, ran a slow 40 time, but he plays fast. Could be a good red-zone target. Should be a first round pick but I think he will slip due to a poor 40 time. 3 - Brian Leonard, HB/FB, Rutgers - Have you seen this guy play? Wow. Wants to be a HB at the NFL level, and may be able to pull it off. A bit of a tweener, but he has great hands out of the backfield, and can hurdle tacklers. Ultimate team guy. in Ray Rice's shadows alot last season. 3 - Johnathan Wade, CB, Tennessee - Might be a bit low for him, but perhaps not. Very fast, but doesnt play the run well. Need a CB and he is likely the best one left at this point. 4 - Manuel Ramirez, OG, Texas Tech - I think his stock might be rising a bit, but if there is one spot on our line that we need to address, its RG. Could open a good competition between Pennington/Ramirez/Walker for the two RT/RG slots. 6 - Conrad Bolston, DT, Maryland - BIG Run stuffing DT. He tires easily, and and isnt a great pass rusher, but he can be a big body on obvious running downs. Has potential to Fill a big need late in the draft. 7 - Jared Zabransy, QB, Boise State - I think we will draft a QB at some point on day 2, and I like zebransky. Smart guy, likeable. #3 guy with long term backup potential. 7 - Brandon Harrison, S, Stanford - Good Special teams guy and would also provide much needed depth at the safety position I worry that I might be optimistic on some guys falling (Ramirez/Leonard/Wade), but I am trying to keep it realistic. Let me know what you think.
  13. While the ability to stop the run was a major major problem, the running game did us no favors either. They are 1 and 1a in our needs list. However, the upgrade of the OLine should be sufficient in and of itself to help our run game.
  14. Geez..you need to learn a little something about the NFL. 1) Comp picks ARE NOT BASED ON WHO YOU LOST. They are based on the number of players you lost, and IF the net number is greater than zero, you will get a comp pick based on the net salary of those players gained and lost. So before you can dream of getting a 3rd round pick for losing Turner, here is what needs to happen. a) he needs to stay healthy in 2007 (likely). b) He needs to sign a monster contract after 2007 (probable). c) The chargers need to not sign any more FAs (in number) than they lost (rare) and d) the total value of the players they sign must be significantly less than Turners contract (doubful). If you can predict all of this a year in advance, then there is a GM job waiting for you. Get your resume ready. (BTW, Smart Bills fans realize its unlikely we will get ANY comp picks next year for losign Clements, Fletcher, McGahee AND Spikes this offseason). 2) Shawn Alexander could not fetch a 2nd round pick. Edgarin James could not fetch a 2nd round pick. Willis McGahee was sent packing for 3 third round picks. Thomas Jones was only worth a swap of 2nd round picks. What makes Turner so special he is worth a first round pick, when clearly other backs in his class and are much more established could not. 3) One more point. Right now, Buffalo, Tennessee and Green Bay are the only 3 teams desperate for a Running Back. Still available are Marshawn Lynch, Adrian Peterson, Micheal Bush, Kenny Irons, Brandon Jackson, Antonio Pitman, Tony Hunt, Chris Brown, Corey Dillon, Kevan Barlow and Micheal Turner. And I am sure it wouldnt take much to pry Lamont Jordan from Oakland. Point is, there is still alot of supply out there, and demand is low. Be prepared to be happy with a pair of 3rd round picks for turner, and then you can be thrilled when you get just a bit more.
  15. I'd have to throw the Giants in there as well. I dont think Droghns is the answer, and Jacobs is not an every down back.
  16. Last year, what was the going rate for Reggie Bush, Lawrence Maroney, Deangelo williams and Joseph Addai? What is the current going rate for Adrian Peterson and Marshawn Lynch?
  17. Allen Wilson, of the Buffalo News, reports the Buffalo Bills may take University of Mississippi LB Patrick Willis with their first-round pick. Allen Wilson, of the Buffalo News, reports the Buffalo Bills will target a fullback in this year's NFL Draft. Allen Wilson, of the Buffalo News, reports the Buffalo Bills will target a wide receiver in this year's NFL Draft. Allen Wilson, of the Buffalo News, reports the Buffalo Bills will target a cornerback in this year's NFL Draft. Allen Wilson, of the Buffalo News, reports the Buffalo Bills will target a running back in this year's NFL Draft. Allen Wilson, of the Buffalo News, reports the Buffalo Bills will target a linebacker in this year's NFL Draft. But my favorite one yet: Bills | Turner would start if acquired DUH!
  18. Only one problem. You will have been with a guy...and although it may sound like what you'd want...the next day you would be a guy again, and know you slept with a dude the other day.
  19. No way we take him in the 5th round. He isnt worth trading up for
  20. He also said "also high on the list....micheal jackson...." Umm...Micheal Jackson WASNT ON THE LIST
  21. Only one un-truth New shoes don't cut, blister, or mangle your feet.
  22. well...nobody saw him at the airport...he must not be ehre
  23. Gee...GMs losing money? How is that possible?
  24. One problem..it seems like if GB was hell bent on getting Lynch they will trade up BEFORE our pick....not wait for us to pick
