  1. I am always surprised when stuff like this happens. In most other sports you could trade guys like this, even if its for a low round pick. Im not faulting buddy, as I know florence had no trade value, but it seems "release and sign somewhere else" is alot more prevalent in the nfl than the "trade and renegotiate contract". I guess the root of the issue is the "non-guaranteed contracts".
  2. I was wondering if it was like the Marine Corps
  3. I thought Glenn was a Guard [Ducks and runs for cover...]
  4. Wow. You guys are tough! Yeah, I understand...but you never know the opposite. We'll never know if Buddy took Graham too early. He might have been around in the 6th round for all we know. I coulda lied to myself and said I would have taken Carder later, but I wanted this to be as realistic as to whom I would have drafted and when as possible. Me too...this is just a fun game...I want to dig it up in 3 years and see how I did.
  5. I think this could be fun. Alot of us put in time and effort putting up projections. Now its your turn to play GM. If you were Buddy & Co, post what your draft would have looked like. We can bump this thread in about 3 years to see who the real prognositcators are amungst us! Only Rules: No Trades. Assume the trades Buddy made, and you can only select players which were available at each pick. And consider need. Oh, and dont take a kickoff specialist in the 7th round, thats just plain silly. My Draft Rd. 1 10 CB Stephon Gilmore Rd. 2 41 OT Cordy Glenn Rd. 3 69 WR Mohamed Sanu Rd. 4 105 OT Bobbie Massie Rd. 4 124 LB Tank Carder (Yes, I know he went later to us...but I would have taken him sooner) Rd. 5 144 OT Zebrie Sanders Rd. 5 147 FS George Iloka, Boise St. Rd. 6 178 WR Marvin McNutt Rd. 7 251 QB Kellen Moore By and large, Buffalo met my expectations. This cant be said for recent drafts. I think the last time I was this happy with the NFL draft (on draft day) was back in 1999 when we selected Winfield/Price & a bunch of scrubs who I really liked on draft day! ...that didnt work out so well... At least we didnt have a JP Losman or Marshawn Lynch moment for me. I remember waching Pre-Draft converage the year we drafted JP and I said "I hope we dont draft this cocky S.O.B." Turns out I was wrong on him as a person, I actually liked him, he was just a terrible QB, and there was NO WAY I would have drafted him. I also remember being very unhappy with Drafting Marshawn Lynch. My thought back then was "If we are going to use our 1st rounder on a RB, I'd rather trade it to San Diego for Micheal Turner" Turns out, that would have been the better plan. So, post yours. Get it documented. Then in a few years, we'll see how we all did.
  6. Since he lasted to our pick in the 2nd round, Im guessing that wasnt the NFL Consensus
  7. This Corp guy might be pretty good http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-shutdown-corner/best-undrafted-players-2012-offense-190032664.html;_ylt=AnO4GrKH4rtUiGwZ0dQpIlE5nYcB Is is pronounced Core (like Marine Corp) or Corp (like Corporation)?
  8. Nick Sukay, PSU Safety to Buffalo! Ian Wild, SS, Mercyhurt to Buffalo (who?) Burfict to CIN Keenum to HOU so sad...
  9. I read his bio..."Program record holder for tackles by a kicker (36)". Maybe that explains it!
  10. Also, remember that roscoe is gone, so we need a punt catcher and I don't really want to see spiller back there for fear of injuries. It's not who I would have taken (massie), but I trust Nix. Let's see how it turns out, but at a minimum a deep threat and a return man was a need.
  11. I understand, but it was a double entendre i couldnt resist...
  12. 1. Luck 2. RG3 3. Kalil 4. Blackmon 5. Claiborne 6. Kuechly 7. Barron 8. Gilmore 9. Floyd 10. Richardson - I almost think you have to take him if he is there...but I would NOT be happy.
  13. I think most of us here can see that the Bills are a boarder-line playoff team this year. 9-7 or 10-6 should be our goal. Next year is Playoffs or Bust for us. We are entering our 3-5 year window to win it all. Now, its a tough decision...are you willing to Ride Fitz for those 5 years? If the answer is Yes, then you DO NOT draft Tannehill. If the answer is No, then you need a QB. But the last thing I want is another QB controversey (which WILL happen if Tannehill is taken). Based on the contract Fitz signed last year, I think they are willing to ride the amish rifle. Lets get another peice who can help us in the next 5 years. My vote is Kuchely, although Kalil, Blackmon or Clairborne would be hard to resist if they fall.
  14. I think you have to drop Richardson off of the list. Even if he is available at #10...i cant see us picking him.
  15. Maybe a good model would be to have us come off a buy and play them, then the reverse happen later on in the season...
  16. This just seems unreal. This happens every year. Simply amazing.
  17. The real scary part here (for Fans anyway) is that it seems that both sides are willing to kill the goose to get the golden egg. Alot of the things which make the NFL exciting and fun to watch are being removed or restricted. Celebration penalties, kickoffs, hard hitting, actually hitting a Qb, etc. I worry that at some point the game will be pretty safe, but it wont be any more fun to watch than an ultimate Frisbee tournament. Did you see the Pro Bowl this year? I fear that is where we are headed. My time and dollars will go elsewhere if its not enjoyable to watch.
  18. Its a fine line. Where do you draw the line between the inherent risk assumed as a basis of employment and the employer not taking adequate precautions to protect their employee. If a roofer falls off a roof, is his employer liable for his medical care? Does the answer change if he wasnt wearing company provided fall protection? Does the worker have the right to sue his employer? Does that answer change if the employer did not provide fall protection? Its admittedly a fine line, and im not sure how far waivers go if the argument is that the employer (NFL in this case) is not doing all they can to protect their employees. Thats negligence, and most liability waiver clauses (i assume) do not apply to cases of negligence. Even if they do, i doubt it would hold up in court. Dont forget about Spiller!
  19. ...and what happens to the onside kick if they do this? ...and then why not get rid of Punts too? It fundamentally changes the game. I hope they dont do it. They are worried about the liability the game creates. I understand that, but its a profession, and its hazardous. When you decide to be a professional football player you understand the risks...thats part of the reason why you make millions of dollars a year.
  20. So per PFT, this schedule is crap. It has all the 4:15 games on CBS, with NONE on Fox. Sounds like it is Bogus. Here's hoping to a MNF game IN Buffalo...
  21. Ahh...the classic Draft conundrum...everyone wants to move down...few want to move up.
  22. Yeah, gotta be some better scoring here. McKelvin as a 11th overall should not count as much as Stevie or bell in the 7th. One is a disappointment, the others are very good value picks.
