  1. I suppose you think taking Jamarcus russel over Adrian Peterson made sense too? Barkley is the best back to come out since Peterson. I get what you are saying. I’m against drafting RBs early in general. But when you get a special prospect (which Barkley and AP are/were) it’s a different story.
  2. Barkley is a perfect fit in NY...I'd honestly be surpised if the Giants trade that pick.
  3. There is no way you can let him off the hook here. I'm fine with releasing him and sending him on his way, but he CANNOT keep the bonus we paid him. Its one or the other.
  4. heck, lets see if we can get Tony Romo too. I am mostly joking...but if Romo came back to play with Dez in Buffalo...we might actually be onto something.
  5. Honestly...hard to top the bengals game this year and the locker room celebration. I know it’s recent, but I think it will stand the test of time. Other than that....carpenter hitting himself in the face with his helmet is high on the list. Other favorites: - lawyer Milloy trade and the subsequnt New England blowout. - Kevin Everett walking onto the field - the “toy” thrown at Chris hogan - pegulas buying the bills and keeping them here.
  6. I think a part of it is that the top picks no longer command massive salaries that burden an organization for years. They are still big, but they are manageable. You can afford the risk. A few years ago it was almost a curse to have a high pick. Before you got a Sam Bradford at 6years/78M with 50M guaranteed. Now you get a Mitchell Trubinsky at 4 years 29M with 19M guaranteed. Much more palatable if your highly touted QB looks like...well Mitchell Trubinsky.
  7. He Couldn't even outright win the starting QB job at Michigan...Must be the next Brady.
  8. I remember ESPN talking about him as a potential league MVP that year....then the concussion...then squat. Sad.
  9. Eh. Pass. I cant remember being less thrilled with a QB prospect that everyone else thought pretty highly of. Well...I can...there is one other person that I felt that way about. JP Losman. I just dont like his cockyness and attitude.
  10. If Beane made that trade, we would be crucifying him because the Jets could jump us. Relax.
  11. Just posted this elsewhere, but it deserves to be here too! https://twitter.com/mikegesicki/status/972883689343520769
  12. Eh. I'm admittedly a penn state homer, but i just dont see it in this guy. Love him, but unless you can get him late or as an UDFA, i think i'd pass. My top 3 Penn Staters this year 1. Barkley (Duh) 2. Mike Gesicki ( 3. Marcus Allen De'Sean Hamilton (WR) is getting alot of press, but I'm not sold. Same with Apke. Christian Campbell is okay, but I dont see him lasting in the league either. Probably under-rated, but worth a flyer are LB Jason (Crazy Eyes) Cabinda, and Grant Haley (Dude was ALWAYS in on a big play. Hard to put a factor on that, but he can make a name for himself as a ST guy)
  13. Gesicki is going to be a good one. I fear he goes to the Pats. He can be a gronk replacement. Sure, not the best blocker, but he has great hands, and is a real game-changer for a young qb.
  14. I love this kid. He is going to be great (barring injury). But a RB at the top of the draft just isn’t worth it. If I was nyg or ind, if think differently, but you don’t trade up for this kind of player. Cleveland taking him #1, then following up with a QB at #4 scares me! They might actually break this funk they are in.
  15. I love this kid. Great player. Great guy. I expect him to be the best back in the nfl in short order. But it it’s not what we need. Good backs can be found later. I’d rather we pick up Michel in the 3rd round or something like that.
  16. His guy was not good as a DC at Penn State. He is a Bill O’Brien guy (at Penn State and Houston) and O’Brien finally canned him last year. Im not a fan of this hire, but hopefully it works out.
  17. The interesting thing for me is the disparity betweeen the failing nfl and the thriving college football game. I dont think it’s he on-field product, because the games and officiating issues are pretty similar. Perhaps part of if it is the anthem protest, but I think the nfl was going downhill before that. Perhaps its the the off field violence (aaron Hernandez, ray rice, etc) that appears to permeate the nfl more than college, making the players seem less enticing to root for. perhaps it’s Tom Brady and a it “doesn’t matter what we do he is going to win anyway” attitude. Or perhaps is the fact that if you are a fan of any major cfb team, you can watch your team for free almost every weekend. I can count on one hand how many bills games I have watched live in the past couple years. There are many reasons for the decline. My solutions: 1) get rid of Thursday games 2) award 2 more Sunday networks games. Put 4 1:00 and 4:00 games on national tv (ie TBS, ESPN, heck even YouTube or amazon at this point). 3) get rid of Sunday ticket all together 4) adopt college overtime rules 5) a two strikes and your out policy for drug use, and a one strike and you are out policy for domestic abuse and gun related infractions. 6) Fix the catch rule. We all know a catch when we see it. Fix it. 7) abandon instant replay for most calls. Go back to coaches challenges twice a half and stop all the booth challenges. It is killing the flow of the game. 8) either get rid of the kickoff, or make it fun again by moving the kickoff line back to the 25 to eliminate touchbacks. 9) gotta do something with the holding calls on OL. It’s too random when it’s called. 10) make pass interference a 15 yard penalty vice a spot call (like college)
  18. John McCargo, Aaron Maybin, Mike Williams, Gilbran Hamdan (Cant believe nobody mentioned him yet!)
  19. As a penn stater, I'd say Christian Campbell is an okay prospect, but I dont think he is a round 3 kinda guy. If we are going to take anyone from Penn State this year (not including Barkley), my favorite is TE Mike Gesicki. S Marcus Allen should also get some looks.
  20. The problem with Tyrod is that he is not bad enough to be thrown away. He isnt very good, but he isnt very bad. In some respects he is the perfect QB for the middling bills. I agree we need to move on, but be careful what you wish for. It might just be worse.
  21. Bengals are imploding on their own...but it seems like a bunch of bad calls keep going against them.
  22. I’ll get excited at game time. Especially if he bills or bengals jump out to a huge lead early. I’m not getting my hopes up. I expected this to be one of the worst seasons of bills football ever. I suspect I was not alone with that thought. We were said to be “tanking”. The fact we are 8-7 with a chance at the playoffs seems like a fluke. We have had far better teams than this over the past 18 years. I think this perspective is tainting any joy I should be getting out of week 17. With that said, if there is a glimmer of hope after the games start, I’m sure I’ll snap out of it...only to be disappointed again. #lifeasabillsfan
  23. We have 3 playoff games. win them and we are in. Next loss eliminates us (practically speaking). We might be able to squeeze in at 9-7, but would need alot of help.
  24. Well...this one is over. We should put in our backup QB to make sure our starter doesnt get hurt...
