  1. I currently have a stand alone TiVo unit. I was wondering if anyone knew how compatable these tivo brand units are with DirecTV. I know it was miserable with Digital cable, because you had to use the infared ports, etc. Also, does directv come into the house on standard co-axial cable? or do they actually have to run special wiring? I am going to be getting NFL ST. Best I can tell, right now you can get 4 months of the premium package free, free install, and I think a free DVR (via BB), if you sign up for NFL ST. Any other input would be appreciated Thanks
  2. They should. And they are. You pay 25% of your income, they pay 35% Its called fair market value. BTW, gas prices in the US are very low compared to world prices. Perhaps if we drilled for our own oil in precious alaska we could have better control over our own oil. (And to think people were convinced this was a war for oil astounds me) We did not want another Sept 11th to occur. We feared it would happen. We had intellegence showing it was a real possibility. We took action. Why we only did a half stevestojan job though, is beyond me. Show me one recount. ONE. That shows gore won florida. I agree with your conclusion, but not your means of getting there.
  3. Per the 11am tracking report, it looks like it is trending northward, aimed right now at the jacksonville area, sometime around sunday morning. Leaving friday morning...you'll probably be okay.
  4. See, this is just it. President bush went into iraq based on bad intellegence. I think its pretty clear he felt there were WMD in Iraq. He said it, Clinton Said it, Kerry said it. Virtually EVERYONE said they had WMD in iraq. (including France and Russia). I still think they had them and shipped them somewhere, but thats neither here nor there. I dont think there was any lying or deception involved, just bad information, which as president he is responsible for. The problem is, now that we are there, President bush will not do what needs to be done to get out of there. Instead he is letting our boys be picked off one at a time, because he doesnt want to take care of business once and for all and be done with it. He could have taken out sadr, but he chose not to. On the flip side of the coin, John Kerry says he would go to war in Iraq even knowing what he knows now about WMD. So the two essentially have the same plan. Except Kerry wants to turn our national security over to France and Germany, thus causing a less secure american and more attacks on our homeland and more deaths in america, and Bush wants to take the proactive approach, but not finish the job, thus leaving the blood of thousands of our armed forces in Iraq. There has to be a better way.
  5. Well isnt this an american comment if I have ever heard one. Every non-felon citizen above the age of 18 in this country is entiled to express his or her opinion at the polls in november. My opinion is that the 2 party system is destroying this country. Class warfare and political correctness in the name of a couple votes have overcome freedom, liberty, and the security of our homeland. Illegal aliens should be deported, not given drivers licences. But Mr. Bush is too worried about losing the mexican vote, so he cant do that. The party not in the white house has no incentive to help improve america. The current democrats, and the republicans before them, try to tear down the country, with the hopes of winning the white house, so they can regain power. Its all a game in a very serious world. And that scares me. And it needs to change. Until we have open dialogue in this country about real issues; until we can be one america, where there are no political parties, no republicans or democrats, just americans fighting for our survival as a nation, we will be losing the war on terror. And neither major political party is ready to take that step.
  6. Listen, im not completely adverse to voting for a democrat. But give me a reason to! John Kerry has done nothing but talk about his service in Vietnam, and offer promises such as cut taxes for the middle class, give health care to everyone and balance the budget. Somehow those things just dont add up. You cant cut taxes, increase spending and balance the budget. The one time you should be differnetiating yourself from the president. Its called Class warfare, and its wrong. By the way, its just as wrong as the republicans claiming that america wont be safe under a kerry administration, and just as wrong as democrats claiming republicans will cut social security benefits. And who cares about what happened in 1968? DROP IT. Its irrelavant! My point is simple. Kerry has given me no reason to vote FOR him. Perhaps if I was one of these juvinille democrats who only care that bush "stole" the election, and hate bush because of the ® next to his name, then I could muster up a vote for Kerry, but besides that...I got nothing. On the contrary, Bush has given me plenty of reasons to vote against him. (see the budget deficit, TSA, CFR, Unsecured borders, economy and the war in iraq, not to mention this new intelegence director to oversee intelegence, which I thought the DHS was supposed to do.) When I put it that way, its amazing kerry isnt running away with this election. Perhaps if he had a backbone and a platform he would be. But instead all I see is a candidate who relies too much on Vietnam and playing class warfare games for votes. (not that bush himself is above this kind of politics, because if he was, we might actually have secured our borders by now) This leaves me knowhere to go, but to the anti-establishment candidate. Nadar. I looked at Badnarik and the Libertarian party, and I entertained it for a while. But the way Democrats are treating nadars attempt to get on the ballot really gets my goat; so Nadar gets my vote. Try to make a case FOR john kerry. I have yet to hear a good one. If you can actually produce such a diatribe, I think a resume to McCauliffe might be in order, because obviously nobody over at the DNC can do it.
  7. Well, they arent George Bush, they were in vietnam....they like old people and the poor....and evidently they have a plan to help the economy, but wont tell us until they get elected..... Yeah, great platform guys...Brilliant... You dont win an election by not being someone. Ask Rick Lazio how that works. It might work for 40% of the population, but in order to get the other 11% you actually need to have something more than your questionable service in vietnam 40 years ago to back you up. For the first time in my life, im considering NOT voting republican. But I sure as stevstojan wont be voting for Mr. Kerry. I have had it up to my ears with the 2 party system in this country. Its not about whats best for america, its about winning. If you can take both sides of every issue and make 51% of the people happy with you...so be it. If you dont have the balls to do what needs to be done in Iraq, because you are worried about political fallout, so be it. Keep mismanaging the war and letting our boys die over there, yeah, thats a better strategy. Mr. Bush PLEASE dont be afraid to do what needs to be done. So instead of focusing on these important issues, we talk about whether John Kerry was in Cambodia during christmas of 1968, or whether George Bush's service was good enough to be considered noble and worthy of the presidency. Screw both parties. I will be voting for Ralph Nader. Not because I agree with him on any issue. (Because I dont think there is a single one). But because a vote for nadar is a vote against the establishment of 2 political parties. And honestly the way the parties are treating 3rd party candidates these days are ridiculous. Ballot access denied because the pages were in the wrong order...Give me a break.
  8. It seems to me this is a very odd cut, and there may be more than what meets the surface. Projected 3rd rounder, goes in the 7th...then gets cut during the first round of cuts. I wanted to take this guy as well. Perhaps give him a look, but its not looking promising for him right now.
  9. I heard a rumor they were trying to get McCardell
  10. If he is cut...he will be looking for a place where he might actually play. Unless another starting QB goes down somewhere else, buffalo is probably his best opportunity to start. Plus, he woudl probably be pretty cheap, since he has been cut twice in 4 months
  11. Unwarranted Speculation: Perhaps he has not regained his speed, so they are showcasing off what he can do, so they can maximize his trade value Flame away
  12. I posted this somewhere else, but I wouldnt be suprised to see Flutie or Brees come available. Seattle could cut dilfer or Huard Baltimore has a gaggle of QBs with Boller, Stewart and Wright I think NE has a bunch of QBs as well. There are some legit possibilities out there. Rich Gannon, Tim Couch keep coming up as big name guys, but thats BEGGING for a QB cont. Then as mentioned on this thread, Griese and RJ. But I think the last thing RJ wants to do is come back to buffalo. And good riddance
  13. What about bringing back that guy from albany, who tried out here a few weeks ago, and we told him we had no place for him, but we liked him. Looks like this might be his chance
  14. I wouldnt mind seeing him go 7/7...as long as we keep the rest of the team out of the end zone and we score more than 21 points.
