  1. Thats not REALLY my point. My point is that I hate rosenhous. And if it costs us a 2nd round pick (roscoe) to teach the guy a lesson and have him lose some clients...I can support that. Plus it helps out with mcgahee. That said though, i would like him in camp. I just hate that SOB and would love to see him go down.
  2. Ahh...keep saying it...oh yes...music to my ears! Hmm..just noticed it...wonder when my 1000th post was..
  3. Only problem is that holcome is also new to the offense. So he needs to get a fair share of snaps as well.
  4. Ya know..I might take some flack for this...but I almost wish we toe the line on roscoe. If he doesnt want to sign for what he is worth, let him re-enter the draft and be taken in the 5th round. Its a tough thing to do (giving up a 2nd), but it would help show how much of a POS Rosenhous is, and might help to protect against mcgahee looking to renegotiate. In fact, count me on board with not signing roscoe unless he gets a new agent. We have moulds/evans/reed/aiken...we dont NEED him. Lets make Rosenhouse look like a POS, and hopefully lose some clients.
  5. Allen has one big hurdle though...and it might be Mark Warner (current gov) challenging him for his senate seat
  6. Well, tried it...let me know what you think... QB Peyton Manning IND 1.10 8 QB Drew Bledsoe DAL 14.03 9 RB Carnell Williams TBB 4.03 7 RB Larry Johnson KCC 5.10 5 RB Travis Henry TEN 6.03 10 RB Labrandon Toefield JAC 10.03 7 RB Stephen Davis CAR 11.10 7 RB Dominic Rhodes IND 12.03 8 WR Marvin Harrison IND 2.03 8 WR Derrick Mason BAL 7.10 3 WR Isaac Bruce STL 8.03 9 WR Eddie Kennison KCC 9.10 5 WR David Givens NEP 15.10 7 TE Antonio Gates SDC 3.10 10 PK Ryan Longwell GBP 16.03 6 DT Washington Redskins WAS 13.10 3 I think this is close to genius. The risk is that of the 6 RBs i have, i only get one (or NO) starters. And you know henry, johnson and davis will produce. Lightning in a bottle. I like the rest of the team though. Note: for the purposes of this discussion, forget that i have both harrison and manning...it was a mistake on my part. I could have (and should have) taken Terrell Owens instead.
  7. Im telling you. Watch for virginia this presidential election. George Allen will be a formidable republican candidate (very probably VP choice), and our Governor Mark Warner is a very good moderate democratic candidate. either can win a national election. My current 08 predictions ( D ) Mark Warner / Bill Richardson ( R ) John McCain / George Allen At least that would be an election that is good for america for once...
  8. Classic. Also like: This is the year franchise savior Eli Manning shows the world he's a better quarterback than his older brother. His older brother named Cooper Manning. and Indianapolis Colts: The offense is remarkable, but the best linebacker in town is Ron Artest. Denver Broncos: The defensive line is gunning for help from Triple-A Cleveland, but QB Jake Plummer still has the pocket presence of lint. LoL. Good post.
  9. You really have to be on top of your game to catch a guy like goings. I did the same last year. I had fred taylor and ahman green. Both struggled mightily last year, and even with Goings, I suffered. I agree, you cant really pass up a manning or a moss. But you NEED to take a RB with 2 of your top 3 picks. You really dont have much choice if you want to compete. You can roll the dice and hope you can grab a goings in FA...but by the end of the draft alot of backups even are taken (see Larry Johnson, Lebrandon Toefield, Davenport etc.). So you really have to wait for a Tomilson or McGahee or someone who has been healthy with a little known backup to get hurt to score big with a FA RB. For my money, ill take a manning in the first round, because he IS that much better than the #2 QB (McNabb or Cullpepper)...but if I do, its in the later stages of round 1, and I will turn around and grab a dominick davis, Tiki Barber, Jamal Lewis or Corey Dillion with my 2nd pick and i will have to turn around with my third pick and take a steven jackson, lamont jordan or Curtis Martin. I think you just have to do it. Especially in a league with 10+ teams. Now Randy Moss and Marvin Harrison...Yes they are good recievers. With the right scoring setup, they might be first rounders. But I would rather wait. Take that valuable running back, and then spend my top 3 non-rb pick on a chad johnson or Joe horn. Heck you can even wait and pick up a guy like Roy williams in the 4th or 5th. I am seeing drafts where lee evans and plexico burress go in the 8th round! If Evans picks up where he left off 1200 yards and 12 TDs is not unreasonable. Moss will have better numbers than that...but not a whole lot better. Point is, you can get good value in WR late in the draft. Spend those early picks on RBs unless a guy really falls. EDIT: Actually...I think im going to try something in one of my drafts this year (or at least some mock drafts). I am going to hold off on RB. Im going to grab a manning, TO/Harrison Tony Gonzalez etc. in my first few rounds. Then starting in about round 5 or 6 start taking a bunch of RBs hoping to strike gold. It will be an interesting experiment. I can maybe get Larry Johnson, Davenport, JJ Arrington, Toefield, any one of the Denver RBs. Maybe a travis henry or chris brown... Could be interesting. Might work actually.
  10. Deal is for one year, at the franchise tag price. HOWEVER, it includes a no trade clause and a guarentee that the seahawks will not tag him after this season. Looks like its his last year in Seattle. Also look for big fantasy numbers from him as he has to prove his worth. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/columns/story?id=2117337
  11. I still feel the only way for a PK to improve his game is to go to a new team. Kicking is mostly mental, and once your confidence is gone...you're done.
  12. The problem is...yes randy moss is good...and he is a top scorer...seventh overall...maybe you take him. But he is not that much better than (lets say..) lee evans, who you can get in the 5th round. Point is that in a typical league there are 10-12 teams, each starting 2 RBs a week. That is 20-24 RBs right there. That leaves only 8 available starting RBs as backups. Then you get into teams like Cleveland, Tennessee, Jacksonville, Tampa and others whose RB situation is up in the air. The reason there is a run on RBs is that there are only 20-25 RBs that are suitable as starters. If you dont get your 2nd RB early, you are stuck with a travis henry or Lee Suggs, or if you are really lucky, you can grab the guy who takes over when someone gets hurt. If you dont, you get virtually no production out of your #2 RB slot. You can always pick up a WR or QB who will put up SOME numbers, but its near impossible to find a RB who will. If you are in a league where you can get a curtis martin in the late rounds...You better win that league! That is insane. he shold be a round 2 pick. Round 3 at the VERY latest.
  13. I have a hard time with this movie. It is set in modern time, yet uses the old charger. And to be even worse, they removed the confederate flag from it...talk about giving in!
  14. Oh. Well in a 6 team league you might be in trouble. You have a very good team 10 or 12 league game... I am very unfamiliar with 6 team leagues, but I suspect you do not have a very strong team in a 6 team field. What do the other 5 teams look like?
  15. Wow...I think it looks pretty good. How many teams are in the league? do you get 6 points for a passing TD? How many RB/TE/WR do you have to start? WR looks solid. Collins should be a good QB with moss this year. But if not, I think Bulger is a solid backup. RB is average/above average. If the cadillac comes through you will be set. McGahee and Davis should be fine. Not a big westbrook fan though. TE is excellent. Shockey has a young QB so he will be a target. LJ smiths value goes down some with TO reporting to camp, but I still think he is a good TE who probably can start on half the teams in your league. DEF is always a toss up. Buf, Pit and Bal are likely the top 3, but I wouldnt waste anything but a late round selection on one. That said, you have Buf and I think that is a decent choice. Kicker (see DEF) Same thing. Jano is good, but i dont see any reason to keep mare. Let him go, pick up another position guy and when jano has his bye, deal with it then. I am confused by the fact you have mcgahee AND moss. Both should be first round picks. Something seems wierd...but you have a solid team. I might drop mare and pick up some rookie. Perhaps Braylon Edwards, Losman, or some other guy sitting there. You might strike gold, or you may have to cut them after week 2...but either way, mare is doing you no good.
  16. Huh?! I dont even know what you are trying to say...
  17. Close...but in order for this to be the perfect bills post, lindell would need to miss the FG.
  18. You probably dont realize it, but you proved my point. If he plays well, he gets a contract worth much less than Lamont Jordan's (7 mil SB, 5 year 27.5 mil contract vs Henrys 4 year 9.7 mil contract). Yes he has incentive clauses, but i doubt they can make up the extra 15 mil that Lamont Got. If the titans want to void the contract he gets NOTHING from them. And will only be able to sign a mediocre contract after that, because nobody will be knocking down his door to get him signed. The point is, perform well, and yes..he gets paid. Probably not as well as he could be paid on the FA market however. But the real kicker is if he doesnt perform. You said it yourself, he is in the same situation as if buffalo never traded him. In which case he will be in trouble. This contract did very very little to help henry in the long run. There is no downside protection. All I am saying is that he should have demanded the 4 mil SB upfront NOW. That would have helped protect him. This nonsense of waiting until next season is a horrible thing for him.
  19. Im not saying he didnt get what he is worth, but this is the most ridiculous extension ever. Two scenarios 1) He plays exceptional this season. Rushes for 1500 yds, 20TDs. Now he has to play for a small salary in comparison to what he would have gotten as a FA. 2) He plays poorly this season. Tennessee decides to stay with Brown. Now TH hits the FA market, and gets no signifigant interest from anyone. He also got no signing bonus. Its as if this extension never happened. This is a HORRIBLE move by TH. He loses in just about every concievable scenario. He should have gotten some upfront bonus money. Period. Its laughable. this agent needs to not only be fired, but removed from football. Anyone know where I can go to see a list of agents and the clients they represent? Im curious to see what other players have the same agent.
  20. Wow, this guy seriously needs a new agent.
  21. I am going to london in approx 2 months...do american cell phones work over there?
  22. I dont know..a couple years ago we were 3-0, 4-0...and were #1 in some power rankings and getting great press...course we parlayed that into a #13 overall pick.
  23. Ditto. It is however in their long-term plans...so someday... However the failure of independence air here in norfolk doesnt help things any.
  24. Yes, I have serious man love for this guy...but we need more guys like him in politics. He basically said, my actions are 100% legal, but instead of causing a stir, I am going to do the right thing and return it. Bush and Clinton would play the rhetoric/legal game. Not Zell. The guy has no further politcal aspiration, no ties to really any political party. He just does what he feels is right and doesnt care about anything else. We need to find the 50 year old version of zell to run for president in 08. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20050720/ap_on_..._miller_s_money
