When the Bills picked Whitner 2 years ago....
ROCCEO replied to elegantelliotoffen's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think he looks like the best when healthy, quick enough to get down the field, tough over teh middle, breaks tackles, great hands and body control. Seems like a hard working guy etc. IMO if it weren't for the wrist injury sweed would be the perfect pick at 11 and I still hope we take him. -
This is one of the only times I can ever remember not having 1-3 guys targeted and hoping they fall to us. There really isn't a single player I covet. On account of that, it will be much more difficult to disappoint me at #11. The guys who might sour the taste of the kool aid for me would probably be: LB Keith Rivers: We have many greater needs, decent LB depth but it does seem like LBs always go down for spells during the year. Cornerback: I know we coudl use some help on the back end but a first round corner doesnt seem like the answer to me, furthermore, none of these guys seem like locks to be pro bowlers WR Malcolm Kelly: Even though it seems out of the question I may vomit in my mouth if we do that. Surprisingly to some, if we pick sweed or thomas I would be excited, becasue we will have filled our greatest need. Kelly just has wayyyyyyyyyy too many question marks. WR DeSean Jackson: Again, probably not gonna happen DE Merling: not good enough for #11, but I like Derrick Harvey, reminds me of a lot of guys we've seen come out over the years, kind of like Will Smith of the Saints(04, Ohio State), although I think Harvey is more of a physical specimen. Also, any trade for a disgruntled player woudl be unacceptable.

When I moved off campus after college I opted for Dish Network over time warner because I had become so used to having NFLN. Its one of the only channels I watch.

Let me preface my statement by saying that I understand that logic behind the post. For the most part I would support any signing of this nature. With that being said, IMO Kennison would bring NOTHING to the table. Although he is 6'1, he doesn't play like a big reciever, has never been an above-average red zone reciever, and quit on his teammates in Denver. Though that may have been years ago, it still is inexcusable. He is not tough over the middle, he does not possess amazing hands. Kennison has decent speed but that is all. If we're going to bring in an over the hill vet it should be someone who is at least a red zone target. Either way, I can't wait for the draft, only 7 days and 1 hour.

I was just about to say..... I have 3 reactions to this item: 1. I like harvey a lot and the fact that marinelli wants him only reinforces that. he would immediately make our D-line go from "improved" to "ferocious". Although unlike in many years there is no one player i covet over others. 2. Trade down.....if the lions like him a lot they may want to trade up at a time when defensive lineman are at a premium. If detroit wants to trade up, they are likely to give up too much to do so. Millen is a horrible GM and I think Marinelli is a football guy , maybe a decent coach, but overall the guy is a clown. With that being said...... 3. Gotta agree with RayFinkle , if detroit really wants a guy, its probably best to avoid him. Their drafts this decade make our drafts look like some type of all-star team. On their current roster, I think the only DECENT homegrown guys are : WR Roy Williams(1st round, top10), DE/DTCory Redding(2nd i think), LT Jeff Backus(ability is debatable, since they gave up a TON of sacks last year), C Dom Raiola(again, debatable), LB Paris Lenon, LB Ernie Sims. So that is a total of SIX players. abominable.

Little football news not related to the bills could satisfy me as this has. Gumbel is a clown. His play-by-play was atrocious, among the worst I've ever heard. He made me yearn for Joe Buck and Troy Aikman. What was worse, was that they put him next to Collinsworth, one of the most well-versed announcers in pro football today. Hopefully they replace him with someone decent. It remains one of those situations where pretty much anything would be an upgrade, addition by subtraction has already occurred. If you were to make a drinking game out of how indecisively and inaccurately he called a game, you'd find yourself intoxicated by 10 minutes left in the 2nd quarter. Good luck Bryant, have fun interviewing hyperactive coaches, homeless soccer players, jockeys and whomever else is the flavor of the week for sports investigative or feature journalism.

Never stopped em before.

finally Stroud is in the OTA workouts!
ROCCEO replied to BillsD#1in2008's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'll just say it's a prominent chain restaurant , or a "concept" as the industry guys call it. Located close to the 90 and its notorious for generous portions and desserts. -
God I hope they draft Brohm.

ROCCEO replied to BillsD#1in2008's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No, that was me...... And I don't know what he ordered. Generally when the Bills come in they tend to get the same type of stuff. Usually they order an appetizer (grilled chicken, sushi-style dishes, rarely unhealthy stuff. Let me correct myself, everything at my job is fairly unhealthy but they choose the least offensive foods to a well-conditioned body that they can). They tend to gobble apps in record time, Ryan Neufeld killed his appetizer and most of his wife's before i could even come back to ask how the food was. Also, I can't recall a Bill ever ordering Dessert. Guys who I've waited on include: Peerless, Fowler, Neufeld, Brad Butler, Haggan, DiGiorgio, Stamer and Dwayne Wright. Ive also seen: McGee, Schobel, Roscoe, Jim Kelly, OL coach Ray Brown(who asked for directions to the stadium) and former GM Donahoe in there. -

Yeah Kawika is in town for the OTAs. At least I would assume so. He dined at the establishment where I work last week so I would imagine he'd be attending the workouts. I didn't get the chance to meet him, but supposedly he was a real cool, laid back guy. -
Why are we high on Ko Simpson?
ROCCEO replied to 2020 Our Year For Sure's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What impressed me the most about Ko was how him and Whitner as rookies seemed to develop excellent chemistry. Notice that with the two of them on the field we rarely if ever were beaten or even tested deep. Usually teams see 4th round rookie starters in the secondary and pick on them, but not in this case. Also, though Ko made only a few game-changing plays they did tend to come at crucial times. In the Dolphins game, his sack of Culpepper was a huge momentum swing for us and in the Green Bay game that same year it was Ko's INT that basically sealed the victory for us. While I dont think he is pro bowl caliber yet, i feel more than comfortable going into camp with him as our starter. I believe that our depth at the safety position is very good regardless of the fact that we don't boast many true "stars" there. Scott and Wilson should help in the sub packages and our starters are solid. Also, if James can stay healthy and Youboty lives up to a fraction of his potential(and don't stone me for saying this, but I think there were times late last year where he started to show it) then we could have a pretty mean pass D. -
Titan's lose one of the dirtiest linemen in the league

I was gonna say that all the press we got last year was about Lynch for the most part.

LB Edgerton Hartwell would make a nice one year
ROCCEO replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
When hartwell wasnt hurt in atlanta its my understanding that he was disappointing. Likely another product of the Ravens Defense. If thats not the case, then he clearly would be a welcome addition. -
Yeah, always believe the words coming out of Al davis' mouth. The pick is calvin johnson, Davis loves speed and more than that he loves physical specimen(s). Sense the confidence in my words.
-
I concur with this thinking. There is little explaination as to why other teams havent sniffed around at him, but then again, the RB market can be a fickle thing. Furthermore, noplace else that hes been has he ever been given PT, which leads me to believe Thomas probobly looks very pedestrian in practice and may even brush some the wrong way but he is in fact a gamer. When its time to play he shows up and gives 110%. We are not going into the season with this backfield situation, its obvious. Regardless of what Dick and Marv say their actions speak otherwise, bringing in RBs and looking to trade for turner. It appears as though they have the 2nd-3rd round targeted for RB either via trade or draft. Just sit back and relax, the draft is in 12 days and we'll have an idea of how things will shake out then.
-
Alexander has also benefitted from playing in perhaps teh worst defensive division in football his whole career, not to mention the right side of the vikes line last year was comparable to our own.
-
Utility DB, be great to have but like the dog says, he'll likely go in the 2nd, but if he were there for our 3rd round pick I agree that hed be worth taking. A guy who takes tat kind of pride in his performance as is as versatile as he is are highly valuable commodities.
-
If he were healthy how could they not at least give him a call.
-
Exactly how small is Michael Turner again? oh yeah, 237 lbs. Tiny

Pick who drafts these 5 players and win! $$$$

Adrian Peterson- Houston Texans Patrick Willis- Buffalo Bills Brady Quinn- Cleveland Browns Amobi Okoye- Atlanta Falcons Ted Ginn, Jr- Tennessee Titans -
ON THE CHEAP!!! Investing in a 30ish LB with neck problems is pretty stupid but when AW is healthy hes among the best at his position. Also, not passing a physical is never good. This is a major blow to the broncos D.
