  1. At 11 it seems to me that we have a lot going for us. Specifically if teams draft as expected 1-10 an auction for our pick could take place from teams that either want to grab an OT or a QB. If the "expected" draft scenario gets screwed up by teams taking any combination of: 1. both QBs 2. 3+ Offensive Lineman 3. Any DB 4. Any RB 5. Tyson Jackson 6. 2+ WRs If more than one of the above things happens, it should push one or more guys that we could be targeting (orakpo, brown, maybin etc) down to us. I always feel best when we have our pick of the litter at a position (the way we did with McKelvin last year). However, that does not mean that I think picking Pettigrew is a no-brainer. Thoughts?
  2. First off: excellent post. Something with actual substance. Secondly, in regard to Marcus McNeil, his size may have been a concern, but it was not the main thing that kept him out of the first round. If I recall correctly teams were worried that he had some type of back problem that might be a nagging thing. The Chargers, knowing talent when they saw it, were smart and took a chance on him.
  3. Just win baby!
  4. Obviously it would be a mistake not to take a player named "beanie".
  5. Owens came in to the establishment where I work yesterday(of course, my only day off this week). Apparently TO likes Hot Chocolate, and Extra Sun-dried tomatoes on his pasta. Allegedly, he is an excellent tipper.
  6. Leodis isn't going anywhere except the other team's endzone!
  7. Players will end up being lied to once they are in the league. Its inevitable. Might as well let the deception start early and often. I don't blame these teams one bit, they have millions of dollars at stake as well as their jobs. Making the wrong decisions on draft day have devastating consequences. If a player is dumb enough to be sloppy with something as simple as their facebook account, id say it indicates a stronger likelihood of future public slip-ups. these teams have a few months to put together as complete a profile as they can on several hundred individuals. All the pieces matter.
  8. douchenozzle, very nice. I thought I was the only one who ever used that term. Mad respect.
  9. Ralph hates it when he people try to pinch his bag.
  10. If you do, make sure you go to a Canadian , tell the server they did a fantastic job. Proceed to tip 10%.(note: tip capped at $10 for any check >$100).
  11. Speaking of ol' DJ. I saw him at the Galleria about a month ago. I was waiting around by the front door and then he walked out got into his car and peaced on out. Would anyone care to guess what the vehicle of choice of our head coach is?
  12. I like the usage of the phrase "used weed". Its like when your high school health teacher would say stuff during drug education like, "it can be rolled into marijuana cigarettes or packed into brongs". Just absurd stuff. Heroin is a drug you use. Cocaine is a drug you use/do. Weed.....you smoke that sh-- !
  13. While signing his contract there's a good chance he would injure himself. Seriously I understand that he is/was talented but his greatest talent is the inability to stay healthy. Since we don't have a huge number of bodies at the position I think that if one were to trade for a veteran it would prove most viable to find someone who can be relied upon. While Gonzo might be 4 years older than heap he has never suffered a major injury that I can recall. He's never coming to Buffalo though.
  14. I'd feel pretty good about our off-season if we rounded it out with a trade. Provided the trade was one of addition more than subtraction. For example, if we trade Peters for a late first round pick and a marginal player in return, that wouldn't make me jump for joy. On the flip-side a trade of a mid-round pick for an established veteran would be ideal IMO.
  15. The Raiders had him in earlier in the offseason. They opted not to sign Preston, but rather to surrender a draft pick for Samson Satele, whom had been deemed unfit starter material by the Parcells-Sparano regime. Resounding praise. The fact of the matter is that outside of experience, Preston really offers very little to a roster. Id rather go into the season with a late round pick as our backup Center than the Duke. At least there'd be some hope we'd be surprised. The only surprises Preston provides are unpleasant ones. His reputation was that he was an intelligent player but after that end-of-half debacle its fairly obvious that trait doesn't appear on gameday. He never got arrested or jawed off to the media. Good for him. Best of luck maybe the Pack can find something in him that we couldn't. But Im definitely looking forward to hearing a Center's name called on draft day.
  16. I think this comment is the winner. Aside from the fact that Jerry Gray was a quality player in the league for a number of years whereas PP's level of play never quite achieved the level of "average". In time he could be the poor man's Jerry Gray, which is obviously a tremendous honor.
  17. Last time I checked there wasn't a single NFL player whom Preston had an advantage against in the "athleticism" category. Good riddance Duke. Your arrival will surely place grimaces square upon many a Packer fan's face.
  18. Could be dangerous, like separating sub-atomic particles from a nucleus. No telling what could happen. Look at what happened to Jerry Lewis when Dean Martin left......
  19. "...Millions!"
  20. Fragile Frankie Merman?
  21. You obviously have forgotten about eddie robinson.
  22. Not so sure it's that easy. I think the Nazis are kind of "blood in blood out" whereas scientology is more like a country club and you get booted from the clubhouse if you fail to pay your dues.
  23. You are correct. It is, in fact, an ugly shirt. They have the right idea though.
  24. Not exactly. I think Evans is faster than Glenn ever was. He also is a stronger receiver. Glenn might have been a better route runner in his later years than Evans is currently but thats questionable. Sure Glenn could run but how many guys in the league run like Evans? Evans is easily the best player TO has ever played across from with the exception of Jerry Rice. (One cannot count the Roy Williams thing because theres so much to that situation).
