exactly Bring Ruben back while we're at it!

ON the cheap hed be our great signing as Moulds is not a bad jump ball guy/ muscle possession guy. We have those who can stretch the field, so having lost a step isnt a big deal its just a matter of if moulds can recognize this, but continue to work hard and adjust his game accordingly.

Like towelie, I was only "a little high" when i wrote this. ALthough it isn't anywhere near as good as a million little fibers.

I bet marv signs him a la peerless or he retires.
-
Since he was not an RFA, then tendering really wasnt the issue. He is a 10 year vet or so and needs to go. I was upset last year when we signed Ricard and then kept Shelton, who had absolutely zero upside. Anyhow, this is a good thing. Shelton was good for about a 5 game stretch one year and that was it. And if we did resign shaud williams, I guess im closer to jumping ship than I had ever previously realized.

IMO Michael Turner would be just fine, I watched no less than 6 chargers games this year in full and I think that the guy may not be the best back in teh league, but he certainly has game. HOwever, theres no way SD parts with him until next year.

I guess my "1000th post prankster" idea just went over like a lead zeppelin.

C'mon, seriously. I mean, think about it MAN! Donahoe was a way better GM than grandpa...er...i mean...marv. Ol Whitey never would overpay for an average guy like Chris Kelsay. Free agents to be? nonsense. let em walk. 5 years for 23 million, if antoine winfield and worth it and pat williams and worth it. Why is kelsay worth it. Tom makes this move you all cringe. Golden Boy makes it and everyoen is lining up to congratulate him on his genius. Plus Tommy D always knew which big name free agent to go for. Look at Chris V, Bennie Anderson, Kelly Holcomb, Dave Moore, Eddie Robinson. These are the cornerstones of a championship caliber team.

McGee didnt really get a huge deal for a CB. Clements would laugh at it. Thats probobly why TD extended him, easier and cheaper to do. Clements is gonna want a contract in the 50Million range with around a 18-20 mil signing bonus.

If Okoye is gone the Bills should trade out
ROCCEO replied to 1billsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So basically, are you saying that teams are interested in drafting position players? Thank you so much for narrowing down other teams needs to WR, CB, RB, OT, DE and LB. Im glad that now I know noone will be interested in trading up for a S, OG, C, QB, K or P. Why not simplify it and say, "teams in the back end of the first round may feel the need to sacrafice later picks in order to move up and select a football player who that team feels is essential to their improvement." Thats like in the old madden games when Madden would say something like "When a player crosses the goalline with possesion of the ball, thats a touchdown!" then summerall would chime in with , "thanks John!" Anyone feel me on this one? -
Yeah that year it really stung when Indy picked Harrison, but you knew there was no way he was gonna make it to us.

Dont have NFL Network do ya there? Ill be DVRing the whole thing. If someone could instruct me on how to get that onto my computer I would then be glad to put it on DVD for anyone who wanted it.

Yeah I thought that prior to last season when they DID start Garrard for a bunch of games. The guy is just a quality backup, by no means a lock to be "starter material". Leftwich is not great either but I see the ability, although Im not so sure they'll ever maximize his potential in Jax.

....and we lost to the lions.

Would RB Michael Bush be worth our 2nd rd pick?
ROCCEO replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If we get Michael Bush in the 2nd it'd be a steal. -
I think I heard somewhere that his net worth is around a billion or something liek that. Sounds ridiculous, maybe true, maybe not.

KYLE WILLIAMS FOR PRESIDENT!!!
-
I predict Kelsay to make in the 3-4 million per year range on his new deal from whomever gets it to him. Free agency has a way of bloating players value, especially defenseive lineman. Hell, look at Justin Bannan, last year he signed with the Ravens for something like 3 years , 8 million. Do you remember Justin Bannan, becuase I do and the Justin Bannan I remember was barely worth a dime(although I think Tim Anderson is crappier).

Why is the Combine so special?
ROCCEO replied to Dual RB way to go's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was lucky enough to have a chance to ask a very similar question to a high ranking member of the bills organization. What he said to me amounted to this: A good scout does not judge by what he hears or what he reads on a stopwatch, he(or she) judges what they see. Therefore, what a guy does on film is the most important thing. However, the combine is not totally useless, he elaborated that there are certain benchmarks to watch out for. Essentially, if a guy looks great on film but runs a 7 second 40 or can only bench 225 three times then a red flag goes up. Similarly, a talented player could recieve a small boost from a particularly outstanding workout, but theres nobody who goes to the combine a 7th round prospect and comes outa first round prospect. He said, "the difference between college and the pros is that college is about proDUCTION, and the pros are about proJECTION. -
Im sorry but thats just ridiculous. If that was the case and Jones was better hed have put up at least ONE other freakish statistical year. Plus, remember that when Jones got his picks the Bills had a bad defense and a great offense which would put teams behind, forcing them to throw and throw and throw. When Schulz got his picks we were involved in more low scoring contests, our Defense was good, the offense was not. Teams did not have to throw as much as certainly didnt feel the need to take as many risks. Im not acting like Jones was crappy or that Schulz was infinately better. However, I would venture that he was certainly no worse and if anything he deserves credit for consistency.
-
Dont get me wrong, when I was a kid I used to love Henry Jones. However, I liked Kurt a bit more. Kurt could make the picks and make the big hits. If you look back at their career numbers, I believe you'll find that Schultz had more consistently good seasons than Jones, but Jones had that spectacular 2nd year that everyone remembers. What about this guy for Right Tackle?
ROCCEO replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It doesnt make sense that a guy wouldnt get a year accrued for being on IR. Since many teams put players on IR who will be healthy later in teh season. This more is used to RESERVE injured players, the idea being that you can REPLACE them with someone else on your roster without losing the player to another team. I believe that if it were the case that a year wouldnt count if a player didnt play a single down I would assume that the players union would be up in arms about it on account of hte fact that so many players get hurt playing football and their careers on average are so short. That being said I believe that Stinchcomb was a 2003 draftee, thus making him a UFA. I think hed be a great signing, he may be able to play guard too, im not sure. I believe that before last year it was uncertain if he would even make the team due to the injury history and whatnot, which (and correct me if Im wrong), left him considering leaving football behind to go to med school. Who wouldnt want a potential med student on the Offensive Line? I believe that on average OL score highest on the wonderlic and intelligence is integral to quality play.
