  1. I think this thread should be retitled, "The official 'THe offseason is causing my mind to rapidly erode' thread".
  2. Want to bring someone back with whom noone will associate any type of glory days? Bring back Drew Bledsoe. Not much glory to be found there. Also, he said he''d never be a backup in the league, ESPECIALLY to JP Losman, so I guess that is out of the question. Either that or we'll have to trade losman to make it happen.......hmmmm, how the hell could I get that to happen.......I got it, if I could just find the phone number to some skeevy skin mag, I know just what to say to get the job done. If that doesnt work for ya, maybe its not that the idea itself is bad, it just needs to be cranked up to Eleven, bring back Rob Johnson!!!(although he did start infinately more playoff games in a Bills uni than Drew unless you count than Jan 2nd Pittsburgh debacle.)
  3. I firmly believe that on this board, regarding Willis vs. Travis that the Grass is always greener. Its been over 2 years since he left and look this place.
  4. Thanks Sherlock, you mean teams do things like that? Incredible! Point being, the contract has 15 million in guarantees, now I would not guarantee Wes Welker 15 millino dollers even for a 8 year deal with it being a total lock that hed be healthy 100% of the time. It still shows that the pricetag for top shelf WRs is going to be unpredictable. I bet that by next offseason, the contract signed by Andre Johnson will look like a relative bargain by the Texans.
  5. Yeah, it was pretty well set that if Harrington was off the board at that time, that we were def. gonna go with Williams over McKinnie, but then again you never truly know, do you. In 04 I thought(and prayed) that we were going to pick Lee Evans, oddly enough I was hoping that JP would fall to us in the 2nd but I was pretty sure he wasnt gonna make it past the Rams that year.(I believe they picked Stephen Jackson). But you all know the rest of that story.
  6. Iwas gonna say i recall an incident with him shortly before the draft which dropped him. For some reason Luis Castillo came out of his predraft scandal relatively unscathed. If you cant stay clean right before the draft, that exhibits a major lack of discipline. I dunno though, as far as calling him a Pot smoking nobody, that could be used to describe plenty of folks i know/
  7. I dont believe Im putting a spin on things. Like I said, I used to love travis, even own a henry jersey. Henry is NOT a top tier back, Alexander, Tomlinson, Portis, Larry Johnson. He is nowhere near any of those guys. Some games he runs ike a man possessed though. It would not take long for people to find travis' flaws again, "lack of top end speed, lack of elusiveness, unintelligent" to name a few. The point is, why go back into the same bag of tricks. I would love to see Henry signed as competition, but lets get realistic, Travis would never walk into that situation willingly again. So lets move the retard railroad a little further down the tracks and start fresh with a different back.
  8. Did the penn state boosters pay you for this post?
  9. You act like he;s the second coming when in reality he is only second tier. What pisses us all off so mcuh about McGahee is that he's a guy who should be first tier, but something is missing. I loved travis before mcgahee came in and i was a little sad to see it play out the way that it did. However, I saw all I needed to see in I believe it was week 2 of 04, vs the Raiders, 3 or 4 shots at 3rd and goal from teh 1, C'mon!!! That just explains all you need to know. With this line, if we get an ELITE back, they could be ready to rip off a 1500+ yard season, in fact its likely theyd rip off a string of em if injury didnt set in.
  10. My best friend did that for years until one day he realized flutie wasnt so great.
  11. Its very scary to think about. He'll get at least what Andre Johnson got. Anyhow, if Welker is worth that much, then we did not overpay for Dockery or Kelsay. Walker will remain to be seen. Also, Kelsay is at least as good as DeWayne White who signed for 5 years, 29 million with the Lions.
  12. I like some on your list, but disagree with others. I'm sorry, but Stephen Davis borowwed the fork from Eddie George's back aroudn the time eddie retired.
  13. AD,a cagey veteran, injects wisdom as always.
  14. Seriously, I am the only one who is having trouble believing that we'll start 3 to 4 page long threads at 2am because the Bills went out and signed some marginal depth guy during the waking hour of free agency. If thats what happenned now, I think the board may end up unavailable when Clements signs elsewhere or, heaven forbid, we should acquire a notable free agent. Discuss.
  15. Yeah, 4.92 for a 300lb D-Tackle is upper-eschelon. The fasted D-tackle I can remember at the combine was Wendall Bryant whose stock skyrocketed after he ran a 4.77 in 02. We all saw how well that choice worked out for the cards.
  16. I dont buy the "porter is washed up" talk. As much as people may want to believe it around here(Im sure some do) that he is the new Jason Gildon, he's not. Anyone who watched their season opener against miami will tell you that. He still has legs and his insticts are excellent. Skilled at Run SUpport, Rushing the passer and even in coverage. You'll be hard pressed to find a linebacker out there with the same skill set as porter.
  17. I'll begin the search for that remedy right away!!!
  18. I contemplated this, but it seems like at best we could've gotten about half that space back. Theres no telling though with our crazy cap voodoo economists.
  19. I agree completely, you beat me to posting almost that exact idea. That being said, it doesnt seem highly likely given the current trends in the league.
  20. I love this move, out with the old, in with the new. As for Bowen, I always hated that signing. Jim Leonard, surprisingly(i cannot emphasize this word enough) looked like ar espectable NFL backup last year in limited action(ie: the jets game). Even if we're only moving laterally, at least its not backwards.
  21. Duckett is better than Mo Williams. The guy has never had a chance to shoulder a load. BIg backs like duckett thrive whent hey get 20+ carries per game. However, I believe part of the reason ATL got rid of him is an attitude issue where he felt he shouldve started more or somthing along those lines. The guy was an absolute BEAST in college. For the right price I would love a Duckett pick up.
  22. I know for a fact that is not the reason. However, the reason that Lionel Gates was cut last year did have something to do with the fact that he is a similar runner to A-Train and Willis, while shaud is markedly different. ALso, supposedly shaud possessed greater ability to absorb and retain the playbook.
  23. So we can watch miss 3/4 of the games every year with an ailment to be named later.
  24. Yeah lets trade willis to a perrennial afc contender and reunite him with some of his miami buddies(ed reed, ray lewis), GREEEEEEEEAAAAAAT idea.
