Now that the bucs have signed cato june, who is everyone on the board going to clamor for? My guess is KC MLB Kawika Mitchell. I can hear it now, "he already has experience in a cover-2!!"

I guess Herm EDWARDS wants to keep it in the family in KC, so he decided to bring back Ron EDWARDS and Donnie EDWARDS(after a 5 year hiatus no less!)

Why we take Willis over Puz....
ROCCEO replied to DrDawkinstein's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Puz is a crappier prospect coming out of college than was Jason Babin....and we all saw how he turned out. -
lol If Nate was 'the playmaker' would KT be the 'nonplaymaker"? challenge: come up with a creative nickname for Kiwaukee Thomas* *it must be more than just 'Milwaukee Thomas'

....has ZERO career interceptions according to espn.com. I know that INTs are not the only measure of a DB's worth, but for how long hes been inthe league you'd think the guy would grab at least ONE out of the air. Also, has anyone found out those contract terms yet?
-
Your buddy sounds like an eagles fan. Don't worry, they'reall like that. Ive heard it all, from, "Darwin Walker might be one of the strongest guys in the league" to , "ND Kalu could really emerge this year". Kevin Curtis < Lee Evans. Although he is proboboly better than Josh Reed.

I would never EVAH give up two thirds for Dunn. His cap number this year is high and I heard rumblings a few months ago that they might possibly even cut him. That being said I think hes worth a 4th rounder at best right now. While not very big, Dunn is elusive and tougher than he looks, and an excellent recieving back.

Agreed I believe Thurman had sufferred a major knee injury and that was the extent of his damage. I believe AP has missed significant time each year in college for various injuries. Maybe hes injury prone, maybe hes not, at 12 I agree that hed be nearly impossible to pass up but at the same time If I was a Browns fan Id be a little worried that theyd take him that high.
-
In a perfect world we could ink them both plus a DT(scott or R. Smith). That would leave our options pretty open for the draft. On an unrelated note heres a list of guys who I hope to see leaving St John Fisher in a bad mood next august: Ryan Neufeld, Tim Anderson and Shaud Williams. Anyone care to add to that list? I could also really care less if Duke Preston comes or goes, hes never really done anything to impress me.

Doesnt look like Nick Harper is coming to Buffalo
ROCCEO replied to gflande1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
EXACTLY. K Thomas and Harper are essentially the same, Id say Thomas has more of a mean streak but maybe not as nimble. That being said, ink KT to a one year deal and start getting ready for the draft. Im glad someone else feels the same way about harper. In all likelihood Youboty will turn out to be better and sooner (id say by 08) rather than later. -
Dude isnt good? have you ever personally watched him play? When he was the started in 04 I watched probobly 5 titans games and each time I came away impressed with his ability. The injury thing really bites him in the ass but it seems a little premature to label him injury prone. RJ was injury prone. Ted Johnson and Dan Morgan are injury prone. Ki-Jana Carter: injury prone. CB has been in the league all of 4 years Do you even know what his injuries have been? Im guessing not, but I do know and its nothing to get sick about, mostly stuff like turf toe.
-
I wouldnt say we dont need them, but unless a bunch of teams reach early, I agree with your assessment that pick 12 represents around the final point where you can get a real blue chip prospect. Still too far away from the draft to tell whats going to happen with even minimal accuracy.
-
You talk about him like hes dead, the guy is 26 or 27 years old with less than 1000 NFL carries under his belt. Minor injuries have given him a reputation, maybe deservedly so, maybe not. If we sign him I say , "good", but if we dont thatll be ok too. If we do it that just means that its one thing that we wont be forced to focus on in the draft. Carrying 3 backs making a million for a year or two wouldnt be so bad, but if we pick a back in the 3rd or possibly even the 2nd, his cap charge for the first 2 years of his contract will likely be under or just around a million.
-
2 years should be perfect, plus, if hes ends up being our feature back it's not like the cant extend him after that. A-train is called that for a reason, and that reason has nothing to do with shiftiness. Rarely are 6 foot tall 230lb rbs the shifty type. If we sign chris brown then that will basically ensure that we will only draft a RB if hes the right guy in teh right spot for us, freeing marv and co. up to draft other positions. If we do draft a RB(which I hope we do whether or not we sign brown) then we'll be stacked in the backfield, essentially negating the loss of McGahee. The point being that even though this move was expected, it provides another key piece of our depth chart.
-
Exactly what are you basing this statement on. Its not easy to find backs who average 5 ypc anywhere, let alone rounds 3-7. For a bargain we could have a guy who is somewhat proven, only really needs to show he can stay healthy. Id rather roll the dice on a guy being healthy than a guy being good. but thats just me
-
Who knows, I think we all just want a signing so theres some assurance that we arent stuck with Shaud Williams getting any significant carries next year.
-
Henderson is older than shelton, but shelton couldnt hold henderson's jock, and its not like henderson is some type of neal-esque god. Plus he has experience on a playoff caliber team. It can be a good thing to have SOME veterans on the team.

DL Dan Klecko has had preliminary conversations with
ROCCEO replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He came out of college as an interior defensive lineman, but he is undersized, I believe about 270 if Im not mistaken. However, he's been found along New England's D line, at linebacker at times and at fullback. Not a great positional player by any means, but IMO he has some level of "football intelligence" and seems to be an "effort" guy so Im sure they have designs for him on special teams. Plus he has experience on winning teams, could be an assett if hes cheap. -
Theres no reason that plan b can't be "sign or draft a guy next year". Itd piss me off but we're likely not going to teh superbowl this year anyway, so unless Youboty is the new Chris Watson, I could let it slide.
-
Small Pecker was under contract elsewhere.
-
Every day? I guess when you're an over-the-hill defensive end playing in a rotation on a rebuilding team with a numbnuts head coach, one may feel inclined to take certain liberties.
-
Hey! I have that thurman thomas card, truly awesome
-
I know we gave him more than hes worth but did they actually come out and say that marv offerred more than they were asking for? We'll take him, that way on paper(and in madden) our RB and CB holes will be filled. BTW, i know that the reality of the situation is that Pacman is likely to face a series of suspensions and shootouts occuring in various courtrooms and street corners accross america, therefore making him a bad guy to have on your roster. I was just thinking about ol Chidi, about how when GW came in we went out and signed old vets who were supposed to be stopgaps but were generally very below average: Kieth McKenzie, Chidi Ahonatu and Eddie Robinson come to mind. What did Chidi have to do with Toronto anyhow?
-
He needs to pull his head out of his ass and realize that hes not a workhorse back anymore. hes not elite anymore and that his chances of being on a contender likely went the way of the dinosaur when he jettisoned himself from NE in the first place. The guy is a malcontent. Can he run the ball? yes, pretty damn well too, especially around the goalline, but his days are numbered.

If Peterson and Lynch fall to us at 12
ROCCEO replied to DrDawkinstein's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You're not, I think he may have launched himself into the top 10 though. However, I hear the 49ers are smitten with Adam Carriker, which would be good for us. I just pray that Okoye or WIllis is there at 12, Id rather wait on a RB or CB. You really think Emmitt Smith was all that special? Did you just get off the "terrell davis is a hall of famer" bus by any chance? ES was VERY VERY GOOD, he was not what I call a "herschel walker player"(meaning a guy I would pull the trigger on the HW trade for). ES benefitted from a variety of things, namely: top shelf QB, one of the best Olines of all time, and most notably he was lucky enough to stay healthy for the most part. When Emmitt broke the record a few years ago, I dont know if Ive ever been sick of a word grouping(besides "tedy bruschi") more than, "is emmitt the best ever": not even close.
