Question for the J.P.Losman haters
HudsonValleyBillsFan replied to Like A Mofo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Am I a losman hater? I really really want losman to do well. But yes, right now we'd be better off with drew brees. As for the long term, we don't know yet. We can discuss this issue til the cows come home because its a good way to pass the time. But the fact is no one will know until we see him play more games. I don't understand why I have to be on either side of the fence. I like Losman, but am I 100% sure that he is going to be our guy? no. We have seen guys get off to starts like this and some of them do really well and some of them don't. I think Losman has the potential, and I hope he works out. Am I sure of that yet? No. If that makes me a losman hate then so be it. -

NEW FEATURE!
HudsonValleyBillsFan replied to Pine Barrens Mafia's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
ohh ohh! Lets go watch the monkeys throw fisces at each other! I think that's funny ... -
For those of you who have watched this game a second time. Or someone who picked it up the first time. Did anyone spot what the jets did differently than the dolphins and patriots to slow down the bills pass rush?

NEW FEATURE!

LOL .. i voted for myself because u guys convinced me that wanting eric moulds back was totally nuts. But joe u seem to be doing very well for yourself too -
Eric Moulds come back please!!!!!
HudsonValleyBillsFan replied to HudsonValleyBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well i dont think jerry rice in his prime could help that team. You guys have done a good job of convincing me that my initial post may be getting carried away. The receivers may not be a huge problem. But don't throw numbers in my face. They played against a very questionable jets defense. I think you throw moulds into this current receiving corps and not only does he take pressure off evans, he provides a good veteran influence to help the young players. Moulds' attitude problems last year i don't think are indicative of his overall attitude towards the game and his teammates. I think he is a good player to have on your team, last years problems with meathead notwithstanding. My point is that EM would be nice to have this year and that he would have helped top prevent the wheels from coming off yesterday. But I know joesixpack you know everything about football and I know nothing. I'm sorry for challenging all-knowing football man. I do think (and hope) that this offense can move the ball against some of the league's tougher defenses. Next week against minnesota will be a good test. -
Eric Moulds come back please!!!!!

Talk to me when they make a big catch that leads to a win. -
Eric Moulds come back please!!!!!
HudsonValleyBillsFan replied to HudsonValleyBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes I know jp put up good numbers. Rosce parrish is getting better ... but he is no eric moulds yet. The Bills needed a go-to guy on Sunday. They needed a veteran influence in a huddle full of uncertain young guys (and catchless price). I think this team was unsure of itself at the game's most crucial time. -
It seems like receivers just are not getting open. Losman did have good protection yesterday and held on to the ball too long. Did he hold on to it because receivers weren't getting open? I think we really miss moulds. I know Losman piled up yardage but he doesnt seem to have confidence in his current set of receivers.

Peter King update on Whitner pick
HudsonValleyBillsFan replied to syhuang's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Peter King is just trying to save face. The bottom line is that we have the guy marv wanted and he is performing well. King can think whatever he wants. Marv is our GM and he felt that picking Whitner at 8 was the right thing to do. For crying out loud, the media has criticized every single move Levy has made since he took the job. So far, things have gone pretty well. I'll take tangible results over a has-been SI writer's opinions. Just and nod at the media idiots -
MNF Broadcast is growing on me -
HudsonValleyBillsFan replied to Talonz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
im starting to like kornheiser in the booth. There were so many awkward moments in last night's broadcast and that kind of stuff just makes me laugh. I think people can take sports broadcasting too seriously. I think kornheiser is a pretty good balance. Because Dennis miller really just got in the way and i think tony blends in a little better. However, I wonder if Tony is just spewwing out dumb things even though he knows better . This is a guy who is been writing about sports for like 600 years. And last night he just kept throwing really dumb things out there that even my girlfriend would know let alone a veteran sportswriter. Sometimes i think he plays dumb just to get theisman riled up. As for tirico, Im not a fan of his at all despite being a fellow newhouse grad. I think Mike Patrick is much better and more interesting. I never understood why nobody liked him. in any event, they are all just talking heads at the end of the day and not worth getting riled up over. -
But Colin Cowherd has the guts to say what other talk show hosts won't. Colin Cowherd is an expert on simple-minded sports/life metaphors. Colin Cowherd is the best radio talk show host on the planet. Colin Cowherd can't get enough of all this talk about Colin Cowherd. Sincerely, Colin Cowherd ps. dont forget to listen to colin cowherd talk more about colin cowherd tomorrow in the herd with colin cowherd.

Pretty fair commentary IMO. Except he needs to learn how to spell jauron
-
Well games definitely are not won on paper. I will not apologize for posting what i think no matter how superstitious some board members may be. And I was really talking about the game from and x's and o's standpoint. Obviously if the bills start getting a big head (which i dont think will happen with jauron) then they certainly leave themselves vulnerable to get beat. I think a big part of coaching is preparing for a team you are favored to beat. Jauron has passed all the coaching tests so far. I don't mean to make this thread to be an all-out bills lovefest. I'm just very confident heading into this weekend, thats all.

I guess the point im trying to make is that schoebel has become such a force that the dolphins paid a lot of attention to him opening the door for denney and kelsay. Not to take anything away from Denney but i think schoebel is one of the more unsung stars from sundays game.
-
Are teams around the league starting to realize that schoebel is one of the most dangerous pass rushers around? Was he double teamed on every plays? Did anyone watch it that closely?
-
LOL!!!
-
I hear ya! I felt wierd making that post. But I'm just looking at this game at all angles and i dont see the jets winning. And i dont see jauron letting them take the jets lightly. But as Chris Berman would say .. 'that is why they play the games.'
-
Im trying not to drink the overly optimistic kool aid. But I just dont see the jets having much of a shot this week. I think the teams that will really worry me this year are ones with strong running games. Do the jets even have a running bacK? lol The jets had a grand total of 51 rushing yards against NE. If the first two games are any indication, the Bills will absolutely swallow up one-dimensional offenses. And I think McGahee will have an other big day. I hate to provide an early jinx for the Bills but I feel VERY good about their chances in the home opener.

Sounds like Spikes is pissed!
HudsonValleyBillsFan replied to Buffan00's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
OK I really have to leave and get some work done I just want to make the point that I am not turning on spikes. If you think that, then you are missing the point. We can criticize players we like and still be fans of them. I do want these comments to blow over. I do want him to come back and wreak havoc. But he just needs to think before he speaks next time. Thank you all for the spirited discussion.
