I wonder about this too. Could they have given him a contract that didn't include the no franchise clause? If the answer is yes, then Marv Levy has made his first fatal error as a GM. You always protect ur value and don't put any credence into "promises". Marv is a good guy and i know he is smart, and i don't care about his age. I do question whether or not he has the balls to be an NFL gm.

Huh. Well thank you for telling me who i am. I think this quote can be disected in many different ways. That is why I posed the question. I think it is fairly reasonable to be uneasy after hearing that. And the smoke has been around for a while now. I don't remember Ralph going this far with his words. Me, being mr. doomsday that i am, has held firm for a long time now that the bills are not leaving buffalo. I'm just starting to get this bad feeling. And remember that if a theater is actually on fire .. I'd rather be the one who sees it quickly rather someone who stays in their seat and hopes it will go out by itself. bills and jets always play tight games. I expect no different this week. and by the way .. what a killer schedule we have had this year. You would think we were the SB champs last year or something.

If that is the case then i think you should franchise him anyways, trade him for a draft pick and make his outrageous demands another team's problem. But just letting a valueable assett like that just walk away would really tell me that this team isn't serious about winning. You can't just give up value like that. These are the kind of moves that kill GMs.

This is what i mean about him being a sappy moron. If Marv can't make this tough decision, then he has no business being an NFL gm. I think what you say makes sense and it is the primary rreason that im very skeptical of marv as a gm. making a promise like that is just like a police officer promising a victim's family member that you will find the person who did this. You can't make that promise and if you do, then you have ot realize you made a mistake and franchise him anyways. You don't win in the NFL unless you are a cold hearted SOB like bellichek. And Marv just doesn't measure up.

These are all the scenarios i could come up with. Please let me know if im missing anything. I think the worst thing levy can do is let him walk. At least give him the franchise tag and trade him for a draft pick. You have to use every tool at your disposal to win in the NFL and you can't care if you hurt someone's feelings. And Levy would be a sappy moron if he doesnt use the available franchise tag on clements unless someone can think of a free agent that will be more valueable in the offseason.

I have never seen a football game at anywhere else besides the ralph. I really hope we are well represented at this game. I am very excited and I think this will be a tight game. The Jets have destroyed their last 2 opponents but niether of those teams are very good. I would like nothing else then to play the spoiler role against these guys.

I think that is frustration talking. Whether it was the cold, the bills defense, or whatever, rivers was clearly rattled in yesterday's game. I find him to be a pretty good kid who is young and somewhat immature. I'm not really gonna root against him. We all say dumb things in the heat of the moment.

I think san diego may have gotten the memo that lee evans is pretty good and that you probably have to cover him with more than one guy.
