Bring Fred Taylor to Buffalo
HudsonValleyBillsFan replied to 1billsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I hate to be the guy who responds to his own thread but i had a couple more points. He is a terrific back. Dont take this as me coming down on him. I have always liked taylor. And its not so much how many injuries and how many games from a pure numbers standpoints. Its that it just always pops up during the season and he misses important games here and there. We need a 16-game a year back. And he has only done that what? twice in his career? -
Bring Fred Taylor to Buffalo
HudsonValleyBillsFan replied to 1billsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Look .. you can throw out as many stats as you want. There is a lot of rationalizing going on in this thread. The Fact is that he has missed enough games that they have always had to have a second back on the roster because they were worried about his durability. And running backs tend to get more fragile the older they get older. I mean this is a guy who has had problems with his groin, his knee, his ankle, his hip, and you want to invest in him in the twilight of his career? I'm sorry I just don't see it. -

You want to bring in a running back who spends more time on the injury list than the field? -
Its Starting! Draft posturing...

After last night's game, Quin should be happy if anyone wants to draft him. -
I would like to put some structure in this offseason
HudsonValleyBillsFan replied to SDS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am firmly against this type of 'order' and I really get mad when people take this stuff too seriously. Message boards are meant to be a little chaotic and not meant for structure (SDS this is not meant for you, I like your idea). There is enough of that crap in my real life, I don't need it on a fan's message board as well. Yes, I may start a thread about a topic that is already posted because I have a different spin on it or, God for bid, I may not have seen that a similar thread was already started. With some of the people on here, you would think you commited murder if that happened. If you don't want to read a thread, simply go to the next one. I think at times, some members can be unnecessarily mean to other posters about these silly thing. Relax .. it's just a message board. -
Anybody get Panic Attacks?
HudsonValleyBillsFan replied to Mikie2times's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Therapy is an important part of this equation. See a doctor about this. Panic attacks could be indicative of underlying emotional issues that need to be addressed. -
If we would have given at least a competent defensive effort yesterday. Then the playcalling would not even be an issue. I really do not have a big problem with the playcalling. The Lee Evans pass to Royal was a brilliant call. Just not executed properly. And I'll take 85% for a first year coordinator. It also becomes tougher to call plays when the defense gets consistent line penetration like the titans did on Sunday. I am among the people who pin sunday's loss mostly on the defense.

Seriously. This guy was a key element in our super bowl run. So he struggles with announcing. BFD!! He is a buffalo bills legend and really should be treated as such. I know a lot of people on here are mad at him and won't change their minds no matter what I say, but just try and remember how this guy just laid it on the line for us fans back in the day. And did someone on this thread actually compare him to paul mguire? Gimme a break. Mcgurie was a punter no? I won't even start with how inane that comparison is. Honestly, I think he is an awful announcer and does overcompensate. But that would never affect the positive memories I had of him back when we were going to super bowls. But that is just me HVBF -

I'm not arguing his capacity (or lack there of) as announcer. I just think "hate" is a bit of a strong word to be using to describe #89. -

I wouldn't use the words hate and tasker in the same sentence. Yes he is annoying as an announcer. But lets not forget what this guy did for this franchise and this city. And I got the chance to meet him on several occasions and he is a great guy and fun to talk to. -
Vince Young
HudsonValleyBillsFan replied to HudsonValleyBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
But he was very good in the 4th quarter including his TD pass to Jones. I was just really surprised at how accurate some of his throws were. -
I couldn't beleive how many missed tackles there were today. When your run defense sucks as it is, you have to wrap up a player when you have your shot and not just wave your arm at him.

Very strong game for this young kid. Showing great poise in some very tough situations. He has a bright future as does Losman. I was really hoping the bills would make Young look overrated this week for hype he got. But he just really impressed me.

Early 2007 offseason plan
HudsonValleyBillsFan replied to WVUFootball29's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I dont think you are putting enough emphasis on our need to beef up the middle of the defensive line. I have very few complaints about the offensive line in the past few weeks. Losman's improved play and the O. line shuffles have made me feel better about the line we have. I'm not saying its great and couldnt use improvement. But i think our top priority for the offseason should be a run stuffer in the middle of the defense. If we can't find a top on in FA then our first round draft pick should be spent on that. Our poor run defense is my biggest concern with this team right now. We should have never let pat williams go.
