  1. I think trends are made to be broken. Most of the matchups favor Pitt. I think Bellichek's mystique is being way overblown this week. Now, if the patriots do go into Pitt. and knock off the steelers, then I'll probably never go against him again in this type of situation. But for now, I think the steelers will win.
  2. Master of Puppets-metallica
  3. A week in denver .. Tour the ski areas and catch carmelo and the Nuggets
  4. Don't have a shot? I guess we'll see. The more you guys disagree with me, the better i feel about my choice.
  5. I'm not so sure. Everyone seems ready to hand the game over to the pats in a similar fashion to how the colts were supposed to win in new england. The steelers match up against the patriots much better because they can play that ball-control running game. And I think Big Ben will be able to make big plays as long as Cowher doesn't try to outsmart bellichek. Establish the running and Force NE to put 8 in the box. Do some play-actions and get the ball to one of the receivers covered by the 5th string corners that NE has playing. It seems real simple but the Colts failed to adjust their game to the conditions/team. Just because Dungy couldn't coach his way out of a paper bag, everyone is jumping on the NE bandwagon as the perenial super bowl power that can't be beat. When a week earlier, they were supposed to get abused by the colts, who in my opinion, are not nearly the complete team that Pitt. is. The media always overreacts. Pitt. didn't have a great game against the Jets, but that doesn't mean they won't play well on Sunday. I like Pitt's chances to hang on to the football and tire out a depleted NE defense and pull out a 27-20 win on Sunday. Just my prediction.
  6. I'm working, but my mind is not really on my job
  7. The first record I ever bought was '1984'. I listened to it over and over again when i was like 8 years old. I loved that album. That is why I feel bad for coming down on DLR because he was very good. I just don't think he is on the level you guys make him out to be. But, I know a lot of people do. So maybe if i was more into my teen years when Roth/VH were in their prime maybe I would feel differently. Then again my buddy, who is the same age, loves DLR, so I guess it may be just me.
  8. I nominate this as the OT thread of the year (early submission, I know). I am at work literally laughing my ass off. My co-workers are looking at me like i;m a mental patient. I have sent this thread to my friends who are non-bills fans and they have also been rolling on the floor laughing.
  9. I guess I just don't know why DLR is so revered. I'm not saying he was terrible. But I just don't think he is a rock god either. Songs like Panama, hot for the teacher, Riding with the devil, were really good. But not classics. From my perspective, he was just this flamboyant, charismatic, so-so talented compliment to eddie van halen, who was always the heart and soul of that band IMO. Some people try to make DLR out to be Robert Plant or even James Hetfield. He is not in the same universe as either one of them. To me, he was an adequete front man and nothing more. I'll take "Right Now" over anything DLR did (OK maybe not 'Hot for the Teacher' ). Yeah they went a little pop with Hagar but just because a band doesn't sing about sex and drugs(for which I certainly have a very healthy appreciation for ) it doesn't mean it's not good music. DLR-lovers, flame away!
  10. Interesting .. i thought maybe it was Chow didn't like the idea of winter in central new york
  11. I'm not a huge rap guy, as u can probably tell by my posts. But NWA really sucked after Ice Cube left.
  12. I'm split on the mustaine/metallica thing. Part of me fantasizes about a modern day metallica with Cliff Burton and Mustaine instead of hammett and trujillo. Wow! Now there is a band with talent/balls to compete with Zepplin for the title of greatest rock band ever. As it is, they aren't far from that distinction I was always hard on Jason Newsted simply because he wasn't cliff. But I guess u never realize what u have til it's gone. When I look back, the energy/talent of Newsted represented everything that metallica stood for. And he really added a lot to the live shows. He really was just what the band needed after Cliff's death. Which is probably why Burton's name hasn't been mentioned on this thread. This trujillo guy just doesn't do anything for me. I'm surprised not many are with me on the Hagar thing. They have gone to the pop side, but I still think Hagar/VH really made great music. I guess opinions are like, Well ... you know.
  13. I have to disagree. "Right Now" is probably in my top ten list of all-time favorite songs. I think VH thrived under Hagar. However, I do think the guy after Hagar deserves to be on this list.
  14. How about drafting a guy named thurman in the 2nd round?
  15. OMG that is hilarious
  16. 1. One time I called a newbie and told him he had to rush to the office because the auxiliary servers had gone down. (we don't have auxiliary servers ) I called him 5 minutes later and told him I was kidding while he was in a frantic rush. 2. Screensavers. Anyone in my office who leaves their screensavers unlocked would find a scrolling message left by me. I remember I worked with a steelers fan. And I had his screensave set to say "Steelers suck" to scroll across the screen.
  17. Sounds like an excellent choice. Hey Jim, what is the scoop on why Chow wasn't considered/interviewed. I have been out of the Orange loop for a while. Greg Robinson seems like a good choice, especially if he was recommended by Carroll.
  18. I just the fresh steelers will dominate the line of scrimmage and win two tds or more.
