  1. That's really not true. As we keep seeing, there are ways around the cap. Look at the skins and Raiders. If TD wants to sign someone, he can do so. Oakland ended the season 3mil over the cap. Traded for Moss, sucked up dead cap space for Harris, and then tendered Woodson for 10.5 mil. We are still over 5 mil under the cap...we CAN make moves.
  2. To be fair, I couldn't name more than 6 or 7 guards in the whole leage...and most of those are in the AFC East. It's not until you have to start doing research on them that guards get any recognition.
  3. Figure of speech...
  4. Boy, I remember when you were brand new to the board. A bright eyed kid all excited about he Bills, showing off your new web page. Hey look, you joined the board on 16 May02...that's right after the draft when we traded for Drew! OHHHHHH....I get it now.
  5. If you think there way to many rules to this game, grab a beer and watch the show in peace.
  6. This is my point. Why give him a tackle number if it means he has to declare? The reason I don't like it is because I have been to stadiums where it is announced when a lineman has declared eligible (as in over the loudspeaker). I haven't paid attention enough to know if they do it at all stadiums or if it is only done at certain ones...but I know I have head it. In that case, the defense doesn't have to do much but listen to know when a tackle could be running out. Really, it's not that big of a deal to me. I just find it odd that they would give him a tackle number when they could just as easily give him a TE number and not have to deal witht he eligibitly rule. BTW...Peters got a penalty on this last season because he forgot to declare!
  7. I have been thinking he is worth about 3.5 mil a season with a 5mil bonus. This deal goes above that a bit, but it makes me wonder if we coudn't have kept him for that much.
  8. That would suck. Considering he said he would take less to be here, this kind of pisses me off. Either he is lying, or TD made a mistake not giving him a deal close to this.
  9. I agree that so far he has been used more as an extra lineman, and the one big dropped pass I saw from JP didn't do much to promote confidence in his ability to be a TE. I also think that as long as he is on the team he will be used as a weapon on the field. They will design plays to go his way (even if it's only 1 or 2 every couple of games) just because he then becomes another target the defnese has to account for...and a rather unique target at that. I just think giving him an OL number and calling attention to himself everytime he wants to break down field hinders his ability to be used as a decoy/short threat.
  10. I don't understand the point of making him a tackle and giving him a tackle number so that he has to declare himself as eligible when he wants to go out. A TE doens't have to go out for passes. They can stay in and block whenever they want, so wouldn't it make sense to list him as a TE? Is there a reason (a benefit of some sort) to listing him as a lineman instead of a TE?
  11. You must realize that this argument makes absolutely no sense at all. How could we be signing someone if the contracts are prohibiting us from doing so... My head is spinning trying to figure out to explain this.
  12. This is the kind of thing they talk about at the owners meeting?
  13. You don't have to frachise a player every year, it just a tool that helps keep players who want to leave. The Bills did not frachise anyone, and the last day to do so passed over a week ago.
  14. Wait...It thought we were blaming Henry. WHY THE HELL WASN'T I NOTIFIED OF THE CHANGE!!!!
  15. It's a drug thing.
  16. Chris Samuels Friggin Redskins.
  17. Probably just gas.
  18. How long has it been since we kicked the ball off into the endzone?
  19. Bet that doesn't happen often!
  20. Those are the names I like to see, and I would imagine TD's list is much more like that one than the "top 32" list.
  21. See, we can sign someone before midnight.
  22. "I begged TD and Mularky to keep Drew around. I'm totally not ready for any of this. I tried over the phone, but they weren't listening, so I came back to Orchard Park in hopes of getting through to them in person. For weeks I have been trying to talk some sense into these guys, but Wyche just keeps sending me to the "film room". I sit in front of a projector screen for hours a day and have no idea what the hell I'm looking at. Look, I'm not going to lie to everyone....we're doomed."
  23. And I bet TD still skips Nugent in the draft!
  24. If TD were a any kind of real GM, and not some low-balling jackass, we would have 2 or 3 FA's in here by now. Like there's REALLY no way around the signing period... Friggin egomaniac.
