the problem it was the Bills who were winded and not mentally prepared after the gain nE was at the line and the Bills were milling around trying to get the play set.

The Pats offered Branch the same money that the seahawks did. The Pats wanted Branch to finish out his rookie contract, which had just this year left. The seahawks were willing to pay him this year. the Pats were not going to do this. Remember Branch was still under contract, He was going to sit out the first 10 games then come back. The Pats then traded him for a first. I think that the David Givens signing is what caused Branch to balk. he saw a reciever who was no better than a #3 get 24 million or 4 million a year from TN. Givens had never played all 16 games because of injuries and he is injured now. This would be like Evans saying that he wanted to be the highest paid player now or he would sit out Branch , although good is not worth 39 million or 6 mill a year. He is only 5.9 and has had injuries. I know that if this happen to the Bills a lot of fans would be shouting pay the player even though it would cause problems later on. let's see what Willis does if he has another great year. he may do what Branch did. -
I think that too many people on this board are doing the same thing as the bears fans. We are picking apart the Bears offense and defense and over estermating what the Bills are capable of doing. The Bills are improving but still have a long way to go to compete on the road in Chicago.
-
He also has the most rushes. In four games he is avg is 25 rushes per game. I am concerned that he will tire out towards the last quarter of the season like last year. When a player gets tired he becomes prone to injury.

Players can not be put on the PUP list after the season starts. Even if he clears wavers, the Bills can not re-sign him. They can re-sign him next year not this year. These are the rules of minor IR, it is to keep teams from stahing players. He does get his full salary, not like major IR where he gets 1/2.

The player got back before that ball was snapped. The center should of snapped the ball when he saw him jump. he did not

I think TKO is upset because he knows that he is starting the downside of his career. he knows that as a player gets older, those nagging injuries start to happen. He also knows that if we are in another rebuilding year, his chance of being in a SB are fading. In this salary cap league, you can no longer keep a vet around for as long as he wants anymore. He is a great player when healthy, but if he can not stay on the field, he can not help us.

Nobody knows if they need Branch more than a first round pick? Many times a player gets a big contract but never lives up to it. Branch is good but is 5.9 and has been injured alot
-
NE knows that it can not over pay players if they want to stay competive. This is why they did not give big contracts to 34 and 35 year old players like Willie and Adam V They also do not give #1 money to a number 2 reciever who is injured a lot like Givens. The loss of Branch will hurt them but they will deal with it. This is a problem a lot of teams get into, paying way to much money to players who are too old or want too much. This eats up cap room and causes a lot of dead money to be on the payroll. This is why teams like TN get to the big game once and never return because of cap problems and bad spending on players.

They gained a whole 5 yards the rest of the game after the 4th and 1

Branch wants 12 million signing bonus plus about 35 mill. He has already turned down 6 mil a year from the Pats.

Dante's agent is doing him a great disservice

Maybe the problem is that they did not save enough money for a player drafted #8. Each team is allocated only so much for signing rookies. Plus Marv and the Bills really have no leverage. Saying that Donte is fowling up his chance to start is crazy. If he does not start ,then Marv and the Bills will look stupid for drafting Donte #8. No one knows what the real facts are, since we do not know what the Contract each side has presented to each other. Marv saying it is fair, but to who? The Bills or Donte? Everyone knows that Donte will lose if he goes back to the draft, but the Bills will lose also since they would of wasted a top 10 pick, which they would not get back. -
Please!! The Pats offered him vet min. No one else was interested. the Bills bid against themselfs with a dumb offer. Price is not the player he was 4 years ago.
-
When and for what kind of contract do you think our draft picks will get? Do you think anyone will hold out? How large a signing bonus for the 2 1st rounder?

about Kings artical on TBD front page

Well how about this. Whitner tears up his knee in training camp and goes on the IR. He returns but is not the same player. Bills have to eat his bonus and salary. Those other 3 picks the Bills could of got, turn out to be probowl players for the next 10 years. How do you feel now? -
Here is my problem, you are now paying a SAFETY slot 8 money. Why? What does that do to other player demands? Safeties do not dominate games like other players on defense DE - LB- CB
-
The Bills drafted 1 cb and 2 safeties who do not play CB. Please do not say that they can just move to cb and be great.

Peter King's interview, said the Donte would of been there at 15. The Lions wanted Hawk or Simms with the 9th pick. The Ravens wanted Donte if Nagota was not there at their pick, this was discussed with the Jets about a possible trade. Only the Doplfins where interested in a safety and they had nothing to trade up with. Denver did offer the 15th pick and a 2nd and 4th to move. Peter said the the Bills got a good player but should of taken the chance to get him and other picks. He said that the Bills got fixed on Donte and maybe a little mislead by some of the rumors about what teams wanted. Because of being picked a 8th, Donte will have to live up to much more pressure. He can not be just good he will have to be probowl good. peter said that he was 98% sure that he would of been there and if not then they would of collected a lot more high choices that could of helped the Bills. he said sometimes you have to gamble.

Is Clements Going To Force A Draft Day Trade ?
dogbyte replied to Mark VI's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It is very hard to trade a fanchised player. First the other team has to meet the players demand for a large signing bonus and a long term contract.. I doubt if any team is considering trading a 1st for Clements, let alone a top 10 1st. Teams know tha Clements have the Bills at a disadvantage. They know that since he is an unrestricted free agent with the TAG, the Bills either have to pay him top 5 money or trade him or meet his demands. -
I do not see many teams wanting to move up in the draft, many are looking to move down. This is because of the cost of rookies drafted in the top 15. many get very good money but do not work out.
